- Today, we put 3 wax as you dry products through the Apex Detail Review process. I am involve in a never ending quest to find you guys products with incredible gloss and protection. It is easy to find one or the other...but difficult to find the "whole package". Meguiar's quick Wax, Turtle Wax Wax & Dry, and Eagle One Wax As You Dry will be featured today.

Each one of these had strengths...and weaknesses. Which would you consider trying...if any??
Apex Detail I only like to pair polish angel products with master sealant so I don’t negate any of the impressive protection and gloss, but as a cost effective product these are all great. Finally ponied up and bought high gloss and it’s by far the best gloss and hyrdophobics I’ve ever seen
Apex Detail not sure I’d use any of these on a daily great gloss but the durability is just not there for me. I use TW seal n shine with eagle one wipe n shine.
They are all priced low, so i will. Lol 😀 buy all 3 and run ur test on my own car & see what ( Carmine). The VW. Likes best 😀
Nice video! Man.... I remember years ago before I stepped into the higher end products dimention... Lol! TurtleWax Wax and Dry was one of my main goto products after washing the car. I would use TW while drying the car and then finish it with the Zymol Deep Gloss Detailer. Now I see why the paint used to look so glossy, even with just the retail brand products. Those were the good ole days... 😎
The gloss is impressive for each product. I would if I wanted to use one the turtle wax ✊
I’ve been using the Turtle Wax for about 2 months now. So easy to use and so inexpensive with great results. Durability doesn’t matter when you put it on every time you wash. Turtle wax is the bomb.
Agreed.
Durability depends on the driving conditions. Air Friction is the biggest factor that rubs off sealants and waxes with its sandpaper like effects. Dust in the air is another factor. The brunt of the wear occurs at the front, hood, and roof of a car. Testing anywhere else on the car means very little when testing durability. Driving at 85 mph on a dusty farmland highway quickly wears off even Turtle Wax's ICE Seal and Shine within a week or two. So you have to wash the car much more often when the driving condition is rough on sealants. The good thing about sealants vs. ceramics is that you can layer sealants. So if you wash more frequently, whatever sealant is left helps build up the protection of the car.
@@romari2706 well said!!!
Yes and I am retired and wash off my car every 2 or 3 days and don’t have a dusty road so my car stays pretty clean and with the frequent washes durability is pretty much a non factor for me. So nice to be retired. I get to clean my car when ever I want!
@@romari2706 You can layer ceramic coating, My car has had 3 coats.
Surprised and Impressed by TW turnaround in product quality.... gloss gloss gloss is what I want
Pro detailer here and FYI TURTLE WAX , WAX n DRY is w/o question thee best anyone can get off the shelf. You can 50/50 delute it with pure water for use as a quick shine! Turtle Wax has stepped up their game a few years ago and thx TW!
Agreed...in a rabbit-hole world of care car products this "cheap & easy" stuff may still be the best kept secret in the biz.
I use the turtle wax, works well for me.
Brian that turtle 🐢 Wax product makes interior hard surfaces absolutely beautiful. I use it on every interior
I had picked up Meg’s Quik Wax after some of your interior videos. Nice to see it’s solidly versatile all over!
TW does the best job of soaking up the water before the drying process and it gives the best gloss. Meguiars is my back up.
I could not believe the jump in gloss. I like Eagle for the slickness, but TW wins for me, I want the best shine. You keep coming up with fascinating comparisons and then put them through their paces. 👍
I use TW, it pushes water off the car to speed up drying and adds some decent shine to the surface. It’s almost laughable how easy it is to use: spray on / wipe off. I use two microfibers, one to spread the product and remove water, the second one dries and buffs. I live in FL and have to work outside in direct sunlight so a drying aid helps with water spots big time. TW works on all surfaces too, paint, chrome, plastic, trim, etc. It streaks a bit on glass so often needs a third microfiber to fully remove. Didn’t think any serious detailing people even bothered with these type of products, but for your average guy with a bucket on the weekend they are great! I like to top coat the TW with Megs Fast Finish for even more pop and some extra protection.
Thanks for that video. I’ve been using Meguiars spray detailer and quick wax for years and never knew the difference between the two. I just grabbed whatever was available on the shelf. But thanks to these reviews I now know what all these products do. So, thanks again! 😅
Thank you for sharing pretty cool video
Another great video!!!! BUT OMG RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you catch the Giant spider crawl up the wall at around 9:35 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!! Grab all the chemicals you have and spray over there hahahaha
Sean Colon has to rewatch 🤣👍 that was a big spider wow
Nooooo I gotta catch that F@cker! I hate spiders!😂😂
Excellent comparison, Brian; I use these on and off myself.
OK, I sub'd and binge watched just about everything today. One thing you or anyone else, don't test is, attraction to dirt dust, magnetic attraction to dirt dust.
I have found some products dont attract dust as others suck the dust.
Not sure how you could do a test, short of separate panels or test sections, then go 4 wheeling in Moabs red sand.
Anyway keep up the good work.
Uncle Fjester maybe Brian can throw some dirt? Haha. But he does mention “anti static” properties rarely. I’d be interested also, probably more of ceramic coating thing though
@@alexarana3689 Yep.
Welcome to the family! Yeah...I notice that mostly on coatings and quality sealants....especially Polish Angel sealants.
maybe start unloading your vacuum into a floor blower blowing on the test panels to see what sticks and what doesn't.
Really good point! Any tips on which one attracts dust the less and has a high shine?
You have made so many videos that have been great learning tools.✊You really are a professional and I knew it the first time I saw your first video. You save me money but I do have an addiction for detail products. I could open up a store or a detail business. I only do my cars and a few friends and relatives. Thanks Brian 💎
lol...I have more than I can use in two lifetimes. I give it to local detailers just starting out. They are greatful.
Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash mixed .75oz in a 32oz spray bottle, still my fav, adds gloss and slickness from wash to wash, lubricates the towel, VERY cost effective
^ this! its the best stuff ive tried so far!
Your using the Wolfgang mix as a drying agent then? Thx
@@tundrawhisperer4821 drying agent and quick detailer.
TheVolvoDude that sounds interesting, and do you use the same .75oz to 32oz ratio to mix this? Thx
@@tundrawhisperer4821 yep, terrific detailing hack, Wolfgang URW in particular for this instead of ONR
9:42, clearly; the winner is Meguiar's Quik Wax. Calling these three products "equal" is a slap to Meguiar's face.
It took two points on hydrophobicity and durability.
Eagle One with slickness.
Turtle Wax with gloss.
I am a little surprised that you kind of left Meguires as equal to all three, when you obviously proved that meguiers is superior in 2 out of three categories. Meguiers all in all is the clear winner
Some of the best invaluable videos, using popular sought after products. Just picked up the SHINee wax By Tac, can't wait to try it. please keep up the fantastic videos Brian.
I love that stuff...enjoy!
Very informative and thorough as usual. Thanks Brian!
Best comparison I've seen so far! Well done!
Nice man!!!
My HEB Grocery store had meguiars quick wax on clearance for $1.75 each, I took all 4 bottles left 😅
That is a GREAT buy!👍
Can’t go wrong with HEB.
Ive been using mothers speed wax for the last 7-8 mos. I purchased the Eagle One recently w a online order. I have used the TW one before an it was decent. The good thing about TW is widely available an 2 cheaper. Update i prefer the Eagle one it doesnt streak on my black car an it shines the most..
Meguiars Xpress spray wax is literally the same thing as the retail one. I'm like 🤔🤔🤔🤔 haha love that stuff! Great for interiors and give it a quick wax after washing
Excellent, thorough review from a fellow lefty. Thanks a lot.
In my honest opinion it's clearly Meguiar's for the win... the video shows much better protection, both before and after the cleaning agent. If you are glossing up your vehicle for a car show, I can see considering one of the others... Otherwise.. It's pretty clear.
Excellent test and review. I tried the Eagle One when it first came out and then the Turtle wax. I always felt that the Eagle One was better than the Turtle wax and despite not testing near as scientific as you, It seems I was correct. The problem is, in my area, (Tampa bay) Eagle One products are difficult to find but Turtle Wax is everywhere.
lol
Regardless of availability the TW is enormously effective.
I use Megs Quick Wax👍🏻 Great video.
I am using the quick and easy TW line and very happy with the performance....all of them seem to do their job.
I even use the Meguiars wax as you dry on my interior with great results
Thanks for showing these types of products. Maybe not the most durable, but with the ease of use and gloss it might be worth a shot for maintenance washes.
For maintenance washes i stick to using Adams quick detailer as a drying aid and beadmaker as a topper for boosting gloss and protection
I own the Turtle Wax one right now. Been using it for last few months. I love it. Impressive, easy to apply & super affordable. Get compliments all the time on the glass look. Meguair's one I used a few years back. Eagle I've never used before.
Im planning to use wax dry and ice seal and shine combo on my next wash
Since Turtle Wax spray wax and Seal N Shine are so inexpensive. I just use Seal n Shine as a drying aid after washing with my reasoning being it is bonds and protects better than just wax. Seal n Shine works well in other applications. I used Meguiar's Ultimate Polish with my Porter Cable DA and a Chemical Guy's foam cutting pad in my fiberglass shower enclosure. Then I sprayed TW Seal n Shine to protect it looked great should make the clean up easier.
Great video buddy tfs
Thank you! Great comparison.
Meguiars "car cleaner wax" was my go to wax for over 30 years, I m not currently using it now because there are waxes that have longer lasting abilities but the looks are spot on! it dries solid and removes very easy, it will last about 30-45 days...
I was in the store getting wax for the first time and I was overwhelmed by the variety and had to see this video to see if what I got is worth it and so far yes. I am relieved.
What dud you get??
Without your time and effort we would never know. Thanks to your time and dedication we are winners. You play it straight man. No fear. Honor among brothers. What a guy. What a guy.
Nice vid thanks!
I've used Turtle Wax as You Dry since it first came out. It always amazed me how good my cars would look after a wash using this product. I've tried Eagle One and the product is a thicker consistency and seems to go farther. The retailer in my area where I buy my auto products doesn't always have the Eagle One in stock. You can't go wrong with either of these products!
TW for the gloss! Wow!
I use Eagle One. It does a great job!
I havent got my hands on megs quik and eagle due to availability. this tw product in my opinion is very good for daily or weekly use depending on the weather. It gives quite an extra layer or protection. Though i think this tw is best use when u already have an existing wax on the paint, so it is more kind of like a wax reboost. Here where i live, tropical weather, harsh sun heat and not so clean road conditions, it can last several days when no rain involved. But tw seal and shine..that stuff is oww yeagghh...i know its off topic..but still WOWWW
Great video and I'll admit I've overlooked TW in the past but for the money they are doing a fantastic job with the new products. Have you tested the car guys hybrid wax at all? I've looked through your videos but had not noticed any. Any thoughts on it?
Brian great video as always.
These are just nice "quicky" products, give you a little boost if you think you need one or are just curious, no harm, no foul😉
Gloss is good😎 Ive been used Megs quick wax for years👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve been using the turtle wax over the klasse twins for sometime now and it works a treat plenty of comments from people on how nice it looks
First...Thank-you for your time you invest in your channel...it is amazing.
Quick question, if you use a drying aid, or if you use a rinseless wash, does it compromise the wax or sealent being applied?
A polished panel and then apply seal n shine.
Vs
A polished panel, washed then in ONR and/or a drying aid, then seal n shine.
Do you think the second senario compromises the properties of the seal n shine.
Just a question I have not seen addressed yet. Thanks again for the awesome videos on your channel!
It would have to be stripped before applying the sealant.
Wow those jumps are absolutely incredible
awesome video brian….we all want that "pop/gloss" between washes and protection/lubricity while drying. these are cost effective options that provide that. this also highlights the cost difference between these type of products and something that has some durability.
the original gloss readings were taken before panel was prepped...correct? so the jump is a bit skewed but if I was to use one I would use the eagle cuz of the slickness. to me that means paint would possibly stay cleaner/glossier between washes due to dust/dirt not clinging. also maybe easier to wash due to the same slickness.
how does liquidx qd and shinee wax stack up in this category?? more durable??? their gloss speak for themselves.
I came across optimum hyper seal. WOULD LOVE TO SEE "THE APEX DETAIL REVIEW". it is similiar to poly seal but Jade A70 is a better comparison since it is a true nano-ceramic spray. I will send u email that Yvan replied to me about it
Liquid X and Shinee are right there...mayb a tiny bit more durable.
Should i use twisted towel for drying these?
S&s can also be used on a wet panel, it also loses tenacity
Hi !!
Would you recommend using turtle wax or some other Wash&Wax over a 3M Ceramic coated car or over TW Seal and shine ?
Looking for more gloss specially on the car coated with Seal n shine.
Thanks A lot !! 👍👍
I only find TW Wax it Wet, is it the same? I`ve heard of good water spots protection with it, is it true?
I think it’s the same. Works great to stop water spots
Hi Brain, great video mate as always well done, in your opinion which one has higher gloss readings, Tac system moonlight or Polish angle Hi Gloss? I've watched both videos but I'm a bit confused as they were on different test panels, Keep up the great work.
High gloss...but Moonlight is not too far behind.
Great video
Nice review. Unrelated question - what is the best spray nozzle for a regular water hose? Thanks 🙏🏽!
Anything but that horrible fire hose attachment!😜
All these products are very confusing. I'm trying to pick the best one for my tundra. I've seen all kinds of reviews on F11, Torque, turtle wax seal and shine, Hydrosilex, shine armor, Nextgen etc etc. What is actually the best? What is actually worth buying that is going to last and protect? I don't mind spending the money on a quality product but its so hard to say whats actually quality. Thanks for any input and for your research work!
Would be curious to know if these will increase the gloss of an already ceramic coated car.
On a ceramic coating, you would want to use that company's companion topper product. Like if you have CarPro Cquartz ceramic coating, you would use CarPro Reload to give you the best gloss and protection.
Great video. Is there a benefit to using a spray detailer as a drying aid? Or even a hybrid detail spray mixed with liquid wax (ex: Wolfgang Uber wash 2:1 with meguiars synthetic wax)? I'm trying to find that happy place where I can one step dry/gloss/protect after a wash, but don't want to sacrifice too much for the sake of saving a final wipe down.
I can pick the TW and Meguiars up at our Dollar General for $4 and $5. Very good price!
Meguiar's quik wax for me ! 👍.
Is it the same formula as meguiar's ultimate quik wax?
UQW has added (slight) sealants or protective ingredients like others in Ultimate lineup.
I use and love beqdmaker for this application
Hello,
Can I apply spray wax detailer on ceramic coated car ❓
Do these also give UV protection?
Hi Sir, can these be used as toppers for
sealants?
Brian, I really trust your podcasts, I would like to use one of these as a gloss and drying aid, then I will like to immediately follow up (as I work) this with the turtle was ceramic spray coating or TW Seal n shine. What are your thoughts on this process? Am I getting any benefit by the second product or am I only getting the effect of the last product and I would lose the extra gloss? Do you think these products would enhance each other or cancel the other out.
Meguairs was leaning downhill, that certainly gave the illusion it was sheeting better.
Great upload B! TW for me!
I have a bottle of the megs spray wax.for some odd reason it streaks on my black ram but not on the wifes dark green cj.i,m at the mercy of the weather here in e Tn...sometimes no choice but a quick pressure wash and a spray wax.i use TW ice wax on the ram.megs on the jeep....same wash, same everything except paint and clear types....odd.
Meguiar's 💪💪💪💪
In terms of gloss how would tac shinee wax compare to the turtle wax?
Very close...either of them would work.👍
@@apexdetail85 Thank you sir! I really enjoy your videos.
Nice video Brian. I just bought the TW to try. I like the look of a wax on uncoated client's cars and to help dry the car at the same time...perfect. Normally use CarPro EchO2 as a drying aid but during winter doesn't really dry.
So my question is why is the turtle wax one reading different all over the place? Did you work it unevenly? I'm not having a dig just genuinely curious as to why the numbers kept changing?
I have megs and eagle one. I find Megs to be slicker.
Ive had good luck using a regular spray wax as a wax as you dry also as spray on rinse off. How are these dedicated wax as you dry waxes different than a regular spray wax?
Would you use this before or after using TW Ice Seal and Shine?
TheOldmane after for Maintenance washes to apply slickness for towel drying
After and every time you wash.
After...for maintenance
Is it a problem to use this also on a dry car? I used it few times and it shines pretty good
Tommy turtle is so inexpensive I'd go with that to save the pennies
I love turtles
Can u do a video on Lucas oil spray mist?
can we use it on chrome too?
If you use a sealant like seal and shine, would stacking the TW wax on top or using with your maintenance wash be a good idea to bring back some gloss?
Maintenance wash as a drying aid would be the use for these products 👍
Question: is this panel fully corrected?
Thank you for confirming what I've been saying for so long & also requested a review on my cheap Turtle Wax as U dry! There are weeks that I use a few different car shampoos but I i think that when I use Purple Power Vehicle & boat Wash & use the Turtle Wax it gives me the most gloss.
Never seen a higher readings than beat maker, Find a good rival for it
The Last Coat is a good rival to Bead Maker. It shines and protects just as well as Bead Maker with no cure time. I use them both. Can't go wrong with either product.
lookahere need to see the shinest level here the reading for beat maker was 98,
@@Pedroluvslupe I understand. Like I said, I use both products. I have no idea what the actual reading of TLC is but from looking at it's results after applying it to my cars I can tell little difference in the shine between the two and that's great in my book. I would say that makes it a good rival to Bead Maker at least.
who's not having fun lol.slight edge 2 megs but 4 all price points no 1 really loses..b well good friend
can we use turtle wax on bike engine and alloys? by bike engine is powder coated
*Is there really such a thing as a "Glossmeter"??!!*
Do u recommend using it meguiars hybrid ceramic wax after drying it with any of the these products
Maybe try optimum spray car wax !
i got a hold of some turtle wax PRO instant shine sealant. 5 gallons how should i use it properly. its usually used in car washes with turtle wax pro. Please help me
Brian you should throw Sonax BSD in the ring!
Absolutely....great stuff!
I would still hurt like to know how well that chemical guys ceramic wax is good test on that see if it’s worth the work.
If I use a spray wax as a drying aid wont that glog up my drying towels just curious
I wash mine often...no problems. 🙂
@@apexdetail85 What type of detergent/cleaner do you wash your towels in?

@@ralphyg7663 Thanks for the tip!
Do you know if any those products contain any silicones?
Matt Merwin going with a no probably diluted carnauba based on the jumps in gloss by very little durability
No silicone.
