Great info. I do mall my own lawn maintenance and I have a really nice lawn. Every year it get better and the towns people notice. I started spraying for friends and family and their neighbors and people driving by see me and want me to do theirs too. Long story short, I’m making money. I built my own walk behind sprayer with a boom and it runs off of a small 12v battery. I enjoy it.
Jason, Have you noticed a burn on oak trees or maples with the use of metsulfluron. The last 2 seasons i have noticed a burn on new leaf out under rrees from the root uptack.
Its April in Texas and yes, I'm behind schedule. Having a hard time wrapping my head around all this but STARTING to come around. Anyway, just sprayed glyphosate on weeds in yard where bermuda isn't growing and in the areas of bermuda where the grass is good but still has some weeds. Once I get rid of the nasty stuff and weeds pulled, I'm going to put down some top soil and more bermuda seed. Now, for my question: what should I keep spraying on the bermuda -- what I have now and what (I hope will) come in to keep weeds off?
Here is a video going over the spray rig. ua-cam.com/video/sv-V8kBitSg/v-deo.html This video shows some spraying action with the spray rig. ua-cam.com/video/CXOCoPdLqa4/v-deo.html
I have read some info on sprayer calibration for a skid and hose reel. It’s says each pass should be “double overlapped”. In other words, pass 2 should overlap pass 1 by 50% and so on. Do you do this?
Hi Jason for those of us who are mathematically challenged and just homeowners. Could you do a video of how much to mix for a one gallon sprayer on say... a 2000 sq ft lawn? I don't have a 300 gallon tank haha
Great video and informative Jason. I just dont think I could split the tank mixes like that. Id always be worried about forgetting to switch the valves, and then overapply that concentrated side by mistake...LOL. I think Id rather have a separate dedicated nurse tank for the Ride on sprayer.
Thanks a bunch for all the information and videos. If time allows could you cover... 1) Soil temp for you when you're doing this and the outside air temp while you're spraying? 2) Manor - Tree roots? How close / how far if the lot has mature trees scattered about.
Not sure about the soil temperature. I typically am not too concerned about that or the air temperature as long as the grass is dormant. A warmer day will probably yield better results for killing tough grassy weeds. I also do not worry too much about the root zone on trees when I'm spraying at a quarter ounce per acre. At higher rates, I think that would be much more of a concern, particularly for oak trees
Excellent video! I have got to get a nurse tank for my Z spray. Doesn’t take long to spray out 25 gallons. Then I have to use a customers water source to mix a new batch. Just takes up so much time refilling and remixing. I would prefer not using the customers water. And having to measure out chemicals each time I fill. Would be so much better to get a 100 gallon tank and pre mix it and just refill the Z spray out of that. Thanks for the valuable information! You have some great content!
Area has filled in nice. I remember the video when you spaced out the Bermuda sod.
Bermuda is relentless.
It took a while but it finally filled in

I do my yard every year. Same mix.

Do you have any videos using the 400 gal sprayer?

Did you use a single pass or double overlap with the hose?

I'm doing an acre property. It's going to cost $119 in fertilizer. What do I charge for labor to make money on this job? I'm in Ga if that helps.

I understand the concern. Your method works also
Me too

Thumbs up 👍 thanks for sharing
No problem. Thanks for watching
Great video Jason. Will the glyphosate get ride of Bahia grass too when Bermuda is dormant?
Not sure about that. I guess it would depend if the bahiagrass had a little bit of green in it. Metsulfuron will suppress it other times of year
@@lawncarelife ok thanks for the reply
Gross.
Man thanks so much. I hate math. 😅
Glad to help. Thanks for watching
