Put away your Western prejudice and arrogance in China, and don't look at the Chinese police in the same way as you do the Western police. The Chinese police are helpful and respected, and always help the people in the most difficult times.
In the past, train tickets in China were purchased openly, but some people hoarded them and resold them at high prices, causing many people to be unable to buy tickets during holidays. Therefore, the regulation of real name ticket purchase was introduced, using ID cards to buy tickets, passports to buy tickets, checking tickets before boarding, not only for train tickets, but also for other tickets such as tourist attractions. It is normal that filming is not allowed inside the train, and passengers in the train also need privacy. If the police's goodwill assistance and anti resale ticket sales methods are called surveillance, So the ability of Westerners to maliciously conjecture is really impressive. In addition, many Western media outlets pretend to be tourists visiting Xinjiang and receive good help from many people, but instead edit the videos they shoot and spread rumors to smear Xinjiang. Who knows what the purpose of a Westerner who doesn't speak Chinese is for filming everywhere in Xinjiang, and it is understandable to ban filming, this is all caused by Westerners themselves, isn't it?
@@zz2214xYes, many reporters for western media sets out to discredit China by misinform their western audience. But when these misinformed westerners travel to China they then realised that the reports they received are nothing but lies to scare and discourage its people from finding out the TRUTH.
the truck driver gave you two bottles of water and said the desert area is very dry and you probably will be thirsty. You just take it and if it's not enough, he will go to market/shop to buy more of it. Sooo kind of him!!!
After you came to China and met such kind and friendly Chinese people, do you believe there is genocide in Xinjiang? Do you think the kind Chinese people would allow such a terrible thing to happen in China? Why are there so many police in Xinjiang? Go and learn about the horrific incidents that happened in Xinjiang, and then try to find out who is behind it.
Before Israel invaded Palestine, the Western media turned a blind eye to the daily segregation in Gaza, but always baselessly accused the CCP of imprisoning Uyghur. That’s a joke. Of course, Xinjiang needs to establish stricter censorship for foreigners, cause they can incite hatred against China but will not stop the genocide that is taking place in Gaza.
Chinese people are very kind, we all can see that, but can you say the same to their government? so you think that people are hating China just because they criticise the Chinese government? You Chinese people really need to learn about the concepts of country and governments, they are not the same things. we don't like Chinese government doesn't necessarily mean that we hate China or Chinese people.
@@vjthemad4852 guess who elects and makes up the gov. Not saying they are perfect, but they actually do represent the majority of Chinese people and what we want. You Westerners really need to understand that they are not two completely different concepts floating in the air.

In most parts of China, there is no surveillance. However, in regions like Xinjiang and Tibet, police checks are conducted due to the presence of terrorism, which was more of an issue about a decade ago.For people's safety.

bro the 27:00 whisky review made me laugh (in a good way), It's called 劲酒, it actually has nothing to do with whisky, it's Chinese baijiu mixed with a variety of herbs, and it supposed to empower man's sex performance.
@23:00 I think though tempted, those truck drivers cannot try the whiskey as they are still working. Also, the drivers are Han people, so they will eat pork. But since it is in Xinjiang, meats will be mostly beef, mutton, or other animals meats but not port.
The truck driver said TEN days from Inner Mongolia to Korla, instead of twenty. The translator app confused it with the previous syllable and made a mistake.
Lol, 15:24 the way you hold your smile to the police officer killed me. You acted like you were passing a Soviet fortress in a Hollywood movie. It also shows how much China is misunderstood in the West. Police officers in China usually are not armed, you can find Chinese people argue with them all the time.
Most Chinese who have only lived in China actually have a naive friendliness towards foreigners. The reason is that China is a truly peaceful and safe country, and most Chinese do not know the cruelty outside.

9:50 he said "my last name is Zhang, which is the Zhang of Gong and Chang combined." means his last name is 张(Zhang),it is a Chinese character combined with 弓(Gong) and 长(Chang)。
Hi Mike ,the truck driver is exactly like the truck driver in your other video hitchhiking to Beijing ,also the same kind way😊,this is also a great insight on how kind and generous the Chinese people are .
By saying Gongchangzhang he meant to introduce his surname which is Zhang or 张. Zhang is made up of Gong 弓 and Chang 长. So his name is definitely not Gongchangzhang.😂

I also found you on UA-cam after seeing you on Chinese TikTok. Here's a bit of a sad story: the reposts of your videos by some bloggers on Chinese TikTok have way more views than your original videos. Also, next time you hitchhike, you could consider giving the drivers some U.S. dollars or British pounds, like 5 or 10. Although the amount isn’t much, the novelty of receiving foreign currency can make them even happier than receiving higher-value Chinese yuan, as it holds a special meaning.

Seriously, it is not a good idea, Xinjiang and Tibet are so big with so few people and there is a lot of no man's land, there is a lot of uncertainty about hitchhiking on the road, make sure you stay on the main roads at all times and always keep an eye on your cell phone signal at all times, if you get lost out in the open and there is no one else around, make sure you call the police for help, the police will help you out, be safe and good luck :-)
@@mikeokay You have to understand that any policy that feels cumbersome must have a reason at the time it was made. There have been cases in China before where foreigners have strayed randomly from main roads, walked into no-man's land without a signal and died, and not just in one accident. It also put pressure on international diplomacy at the time.
@@Liam_Chung That's especially true of Tibet where one can suffer from high altitude sickness and wondering off some off beaten path can mean death. Who knows what the purpose of a Westerner who doesn't speak Chinese is for filming everywhere in Xinjiang, and it is understandable to ban filming, this is all caused by Westerners themselves, isn't it?
By checking your id for 200 times a day?😂 you don’t know what is basic freedom, pathetic

@23:00 I think though tempted, those truck drivers cannot try the whiskey as they are still working. Also, the drivers are Han people, so they will eat pork. But since it is in Xinjiang, meats will be mostly beef, mutton, or other animals meats but not port.

Mate, what a brilliant video. Love seeing this part of China. You earned a new sub and you're inspiring me to go hitchhike a foreign country!
Awesome, thank you!
The Chinese truckie was trying to be friendly but he didn't realise Mike doesn't know how to write a chinese character.
right. This is also because there are different "Zhang" as surname (for example, 张 or 章). By quoting the character parts you'll know which Zhang it is (if you know how to write Chinese...)

Hi, Mike, Xinjiang was attacked by Islamic terrorists who crossed the border many years ago. They massacred ordinary people indiscriminately in Urumqi. After that, in order to prevent being attacked again, Xinjiang strengthened its public security management. This also ensured that all local ethnic groups could live in harmony. , develop economy. As for genocide, that is even more ridiculous. You can see various ethnic minority groups, including the Uyghurs, everywhere along the way. In order to attack China, the United States has compiled shameless lies to mislead the Western people. Use your eyes to discover a true and kind China.Have a nice trip!
Han Chinese people have told me they feel like they have less rights than the Uyghurs
Instigated by CIA.. Taliban was aided by US and Syrian ISIS DARESH started by CIA
Plus, the USA has now agreed a further budget of $1.5 billion to pay for anti China propaganda
