Though when talking about speakers I think it would be nice to include at least a small section of maybe 5-10 seconds of sounds/music coming out of those speakers and maybe even compare it to another laptop that has good speakers. I know it's not really accurate to the quality of the speakers but it gives us an idea of everything.

I am thinking of buying my first Razer Blade soon too. I just love this company man. They make gaming monsters that look sleek like a Macbook Pro. I just wish I could buy a full option model with the Mercury White paint finish.

I would be more happy with a 144hz and 2k monitor on a 17 inch screen. They should balance between the higher resolution and refresh rate.

1:00 - Even simple desktop work, browsing/scrolling through documents can highly benefit from 300Hz Lisa. Nothing overkill about high refresh. If GPUs can't deliver those frames in games, you can still take advantage of great motion images when working, when watching videos (in the not-too-distant future with HFR videos) and possibly in more areas soon.
Bring on ultra-high refresh screens! The more Hz, the better!
Think about the power consumption tho. It’s physics; higher speed, higher energy input. Same applies to refresh rates. It’s still cool nonetheless
Great review, Lisa! I would love to have a 4K 120hz touchscreen. The Razer looks beautiful - truly; however, it’s too heavy to be portable. It makes more sense to get a gaming PC with a high refresh rate monitor. It’s cheaper, too.

I have the Razer Blade Full HD 1920x1080 300Hz - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER - 1TB SSD. I highly recommend this laptop.
I have the 2019 Blade 15 w/ 2080 MQ and the 240 Hz panel. They didn't make very many because it was towards the end of the year, and quickly discounted them to a (comparatively speaking) "cheap" $2,299 right before the Super MQ models released. Definitely got my money's worth.

Lisa, am I correct, only 2666 points in CB R20 for the i7 10875h? What clock speed is it holding during that, about 2600 mhz ? What's its PL1 value?
Most 9750h CPUs will score that if not even higher...

Same here on the gs 66 stealth my little room gets warm I don't even have to turn on the heater if it's a cold day and I'm chiilli just fire up far cry 5 and your off

I currently have the 2017 pro with the 1060 and the thermals are nuts. I have been thinking of upgrading and “future-proofing” with the 2080s but this bad boy is $5400 cdn so a bit too rich for me. Been looking at the ROG Zephyrus S GX701LXS-XS78 but waiting for reviews.

Im using the blade pro 2017 with the gtx 1080. Its great I love it :) I actually prefere the older razer blade designs.
Why would someone have 4k 120hz on a screen as small as 17inches?
You won't get to know the difference on that screen anyways plus restrict your refresh rate.
You'll easily see benefits of 4K resolution on a screen laptop. You can even see benefits of 4K over 1080p resolution on a 6 inch smartphone. It's in the high resolution & highly-detailed images where you see those differences.

Thanks for another great review. I tried a Blade 15 last year and, while the build quality was outstanding, the keyboard was inexcusably poor. I couldn’t use it for productivity and returned it a few days later. I see the use case for gamers but I mistakenly thought it would be equally as good beyond that. Based on this review, it seems like if they would just go the last mile and fix the keyboard this would be a nearly flawless machine.
I just discovered this channel researching prior to a laptop purchase.. I must say, I'm happy I did. The information makes most other channels seem really shallow..

Was very tempted by the 4k version of this one... but it was so exe, I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much! Beautiful laptop though. Learned a few extra thing about it here, like the possibility of an extra hard drive! I didn't see that mentioned on their website.
This is what I would have wanted from Asus Zenbook Pro Duo, high quality OLED display with upgradable internals and extra room for storage and RAM but with a 2nd screen and pen support.
Lisa, great review!!! You've convinced me. You mention the cooling systems. Have you noticed any heating issues with the higher performance SSDs? Do you think it's worth adding thermal pads on the SSD and if we add another SSD? Is the bottom panel: 1. aluminum to spread the heat 2. close enough to add a simply thermal pad, 3. would it be required to add a full on heat sink?

Great vid but i wish you reviewed it with the 1080 screen. Only a minority of people would buy a gaming laptop like this with a 4K screen (even if the gaming performance in 1440p on this beast is mind blowing)

Good!. I wish you can make a review of the Razer Blade Studio!. A lot of channels put it as overpriced but I think you might be able to do some benchmarks of that GPU on professional apps to show if it is worth it.
Will never be worthy, too expensive for specs you can get cheaper in other laptop or even cheaper on a desktop

How reliable are Razer laptops?
Not very. Had one broke. They kept it for months! Broke again 1week later. Didn't have a laptop for 8months. Terrible company.
They are reliable - had my razer blade pro 4k 60fps touchscreen 2017 model for nearly 2 years had no issues what so ever
My RB15 2019 is going fine after 1.5 years
When you have as awful an ODM (allegedly) as BYD electronics that you're forced to stay with because it might affect the bottom line, you begin to see why their laptops aren't likely to make a quantum leap in quality control and innovation any time soon

Yeah I preffered this over the Alienware, but it cost a lot more at the time. Also the AW had much bigger battery, and I don't mind the weight!

Point to note. The ISO Keyboard layout used on the European versions do not have the secondry functions lit.Lisa's version shown here, which has the ANSi Version Layout does.How do i know this ? I have the afore mentioned ISO Version.I checked into this with Razer after mine arrived, just to make sure it was not a QC issue. They confirmed that the UK version (ISO) does not come with the secondary keys lighting up.

I don't know if my post went through or not. Yet if so then I sorry about the Aero thing I didn't hear what you said and thought you were saying the aero was Alienware. As for the Pro there is a 4k version and non four k version both having different specs. Like the Advanced and base model of the razer 15. Only the 4k etc has the vapor cooling according to there website.

Strange thing is, that on the German Razer site they say that only one USB-C port is Thunderbolt 3 and the other USB3.2 Gen 2 ( and not two TB3) .
Don't get this "design" choice.
That's because only one of the two USB-C ports supports Thunderbolt 3. The specs in the video are not accurate. Have a look at the American specs; only one TB 3 port:

4K is really really bad for gaming! I tried 4K for gaming and most games just stutter with hideous frame rates. I even had problems editing videos. So I changed back to FHD. Games super fast and working on video edits, the files (4K incidentally) super fluid. For gaming I use a 2K acer predator which is super. I reckon 2K for monitors seems best for gaming given the current processor/graphics powers. I found that 4K was a hideous gaming experience. On a 17" screen, what use is 4K anyhow? Seems to be great for displaying photos, so maybe good for photo editors? But certainly 4K bad idea for gaming. I have the Pro 17 and I think it's the best laptop I have ever had and I've tried a lot including alienware. Got rid of my 4K laptops, waste of time for gaming and editing. Another FANTASTIC feature about the razer blade is how easy it is to change the nvme storage! Using samsung drives you can simply copy complete system across, add extra storage too! Only downside with razer blade is that the customer support is really really bad :)
In your experience, how is the track-pad and quality control, speakers over a MBP? I returned my 16” last week due to the ARM transition (I paid $5K). It seems I’ll save a grand. Yet Big Sur, despite the name seems impressive visually.

Everytime I hear Intel on a laptop I am always like how much did Intel pay you to make a laptop with an Intel CPU instead of AMD?
The answer is too much...
Gaming performance is better on intel than AMD. Not like it matters, razer doesn't make gaming PCs, they make PCs that check bullet points for gaming but doesnt tie it together.
300hz display, check, can it run games at 300fps? Nope. 4k 120hz check, again, can it run 4k at 120fps? Nope.
Honestly, I've wanted one for a while but they are all style, no substance. I've also dealt with their customer support, and disappointment would be an understatement.
Intel has TB3 support and Razer makes an external GPU enclosure so...
people like amd right now since it was cheaper.. but if you play game in high setting that cpu had it issue so fucking much... it cause strange bug and problem and troubleshooting that most company had hard to solves...
Well Intel is still better gaming tasks and Razer is a gaming pc company so it makes sense.

Hi was just wondering if it was normal for the ethernet port to go in quite ungracefully on this model? I thought it didn't fit or was broken, it didn't clip in then realised I really had to push it in and it just not go in smoothly where you can normally just push them gently and they click in. There is nothing else wrong with the laptop but just got it following this excellent review but do not want it to have a problem over time.

So the battery sucks, not surprised. 300 hz or 120 hz at 4k! For laptops, the ideal resolution is 1440p 120hz.
Got this machine recently. Does it really stop charging at 100% and never go back on mains? Kinda weird and awful performance. It just goes to battery after full charge and does not return to mains power. Any of you experience this?
Upgrade RAM on Razer Blade Pro 17 2020 - I've read many reviews on Amazon that RAM 3200MHZ modules don't seem to achieve the advertised 3200MHz in the 2020 Razer Blade Pro 17. Looking at this video at 12:11, I zoomed in on the RAM module and it seems to be Samsung M471A1X43DB1-CWE. Using Samsung Semiconductor DRAM Module Selector online tool, I managed to find the 16GB and 32GB equivalent modules are: 8GB: M471A1K43DB1-CWE, 16GB: M471A2K43DB1-CWE, 32GB: M471A4G43AB1-CWE. So I would think if I got two 16GB modules or two 32GB modules, those should work well. Any thoughts or other recommendations that would be compatible and work at 3200 MHZ?

amd is worse at this price point, solely because it doesn't support thunderbolt 3, at least the external gpu feature of it.
It has been done by a single mini atx motherboard, cant remember the brand and model but it isn't advertised since that feature is patented by intel.
Razer would need to make custom motherboard designs to support it and I don't see that happening any time soon..

Hi Lisa I unscrewed all 8 screws on the cpu and gpu to do a repasting but the cooling plate wouldnt come off. Are there other screws that need to be undone?
