Honeslty I've learnt so much from you I'm nearly 40 and I'm a purple belt I train with guys who are allot younger and more athletic than me. You have made my game so much better thank you.
Love the content as always! Your rolling style is really inspirational. Im working on a similar americana game, I threaten the Americana, which they either roll over to save with the other arm, or straight arm to defend. If they straight arm, I go kimura ride to back take, if they save with the other arm, I shelf into an arm bar setup or shelf into a back take. if timed right, it gives them nothing but bad options. From side control Ive also been playing with stapling the near side arm with my leg as part of that, because it just gives them something else to worry about. they are usually working on that leg to recover guard anyway. Its such a good sequence in my white belt opinion lol. And the setup is pretty easy, as you can use an inverse grip, frame, and body weight to pin the arm and gift wrap it. I like to setup my Americanas with gift wraps behind the head so I can really keep that arm while I am positioning. Some heads are a little big to slip my gift wrap over once Im setup tho, its the only problem. Learned yesterday I have a broken finger. Any advice for dealing with that? Have you rolled through injuries, or do you think just rest and heal it up? its hard to stay out of class.
I think you mentioned in one of your previous videos that you follow like 700 other channels. What are some of your favorite BJJ channels? Looking to broaden the content that I follow 👊
It's easy to notice moves that you could be missing but I'm guessing you're playing the long game and I probably only know 2 or 3, rear naked or armbars, I feel like I'm learning a lot from your vids so when I actually get to class I won't be totally dumb 😂
I think you hit the nail on the head with the long game comment. No need to jump on submissions that may be possible when you have an opportunity to advance/retain position! As the saying goes - "position over submission"

Thanks Jesse! OSs!
0:45 - "not a flow roll, but it's not an explosive, athletic roll" is exactly how I roll as well. Many people don't understand how to do this.
Agreed! I actually have a white belt that understands this! Video to come!
I'm a 42 years old white belt from Brazil. Love your videos, and your butterfly guard! 👊

My best advice for injuries is rest. The true discipline is taking time off to let our injuries heal so they don’t become chronic

10 /20 rules. Add a belt for every 10 years. Add a belt level for every 20 lbs.
this is essentially brown bs brown.
We if that were true he is ten years young and 25 pounds heavier. He would be a black belt compared to me
The Jordan Peterson of ju jitsu
Congrats on your brown belt by the way
