Hey, thank you for the fantastic video, the care you take in your work is obvious in the final product. Mariano was my favorite player when I was a child. My favorite part about Mariano’s game was the stamina in individual games relative to other great modern relievers. I remember many multiple inning saves. I loved the feeling of the ‘will they/won’t they’ in the 8th inning. The other thing is that even the walk-off he gave up in game 7 of 2001 the contract was really not great, I’m sure modern analytics would show it was more unlucky than truly giving it up. He was the definition of invincible to me and I admire him so much.

"Oops I forgot" eugene, or- "A great place for a truck stop"
Yeah the one downside of having a hall of famer at a position is getting used to not having to worry about that position with future scouting drafts, trades etc. kinda hard to replace your hall of fame closer with someone even half as talented
Out of context, rocking that hair bro
Damn the Astros !!! lol. Sorry at that point in the video where your discussing Chap and the Astros v Yanks series in the playoffs.
A replacing Pedroia would be very epic Mr nomorefielders
44:01 It IS Mariano's fault the defense was playing in. He made a throwing error earlier in the inning.
Remember to do Altuve when he retires!
In a parallel world, Robertson stayed at Yankees to be the best, a place where Yankees are not dumb at trading/scouting players
Mariano Rivera will always be THE GOAT of closers and I grew up a Yankee fan on my way to Adulthood.
Great video!
Thank you!
You gotta do "Replacing Mike Trout" and "Replacing Aaton Judge" and "Replacing Francisco Lindor" and etc. when they all retire
More like replacing former single season saves record holder Dave Righetti am i right fellow bassball nerds
Ever consider a replacing Bonds video
It’s going to happen one day, but the format is gonna be super experimental (gonna cover how both the pirates and giants tried replacing him)
Is there any order to the song list? I really want to know what was playing for the Andrew Miller part
That song is actually one made by my old band A Very Loud Death called Lanterns. I had to remove it from the song list for behind the scenes reasons but you can find it here: open.spotify.com/track/2p5UuXtual0LiWarWkZmkr?si=QPJOEHm6QFC_WfO4Tx6X8A
@@nomorefielders cool thanks
I know he’s going to come up and I must say this
Clay Holmes played on my high school’s biggest rival I wasn’t a wizard with the bat but I battled after 3 at bats that where 20% of his pitches for the day in round 4 I took the first pitch to the ribs so hard I still fell it when I sneeze but I was on base for the third time
there will never be another Mariano Rivera
not in this lifetime
All forever compared to Mariano and none are close.
Watching this video has convinced me you must do a March Madness bracket style tournament to determine the all-time greatest closer’s music/theme song -- 64 players/songs, AL vs NL… Any other rules like how seeding would work is completely up to you, I just think it’s some thing we absolutely want/need. Like this comment if you agree this is something you’d like to see, and feel free to comment any suggestions and/or rules as to how this whole thing should work. ⚾️🍿🎺
Man, I know this was long but not talking about Betances here is kind of crazy. At his peak he might have been the best of all the post-Mariano star relievers.
He gets a mention. I even say how much I regret not mentioning him more.
You are right tho Betances is super underrated
How’d you get around the copyright with enter sandman , can you use covers?
There are a lot of tricks that I use. One is using live versions, but unfortunately shell companies have been claiming cover versions of songs, so in this case I had to pitch down the version I used to obfuscate it from contentID
Holmes ain't the closer the Yankees need, he blows dogs for dimes
U just sound like a hater
@@nomorefielders son I've been a Yankees fan for 30 years now, anyone besides mo is a disappointment. Holmes is an excellent guy to put in if you hate winning games.
17:35 JOBA CHAMBERLAIN MENTIONED
I know the songs are in the description, but I’ve looked through a whole bunch and I can’t find the song during the Andrew Miller first year contract montage, any help please?
28:20
Hey! It’s actually a song made by my old band, A Very Loud Death called Lanterns. I had to omit it from the description due to some issues behind the scenes, but you can find it here: open.spotify.com/track/2p5UuXtual0LiWarWkZmkr?si=gFP-puxDTGCQ4ANYokQy0A
@@nomorefielders what an awesome song!!! I’ve been a fan of your baseball videos but now I am DEFINITELY a fan of your music as well!!! Thank you so much for the content and music, mad respect
Thank you thank you. I def recommend checking out our last album, Ultamatique. That’s the piece of music I’m most proud of to date.

Why is the music edited sooo loudly?
Here after the blown WS 😔
