Thank you for the video of this expansion! The G.I. Joe series and toys were a little after my time but certainly not the original 12" figures...they were simply amazing to me as a kid. That being said, I'm also not a huge fan of deck-builders. But the Joe's skill traits with the dice changes the whole dynamic and it separates this game from just about every deck-builder....and I love it! Thanks to you! I watched your play-through of the core set and knew I had to have this game! Thanks again for your content! Your obvious passion for modern board games makes your videos really stand above many others and I look forward to watching future videos.

Finally picked up the GI Joe deck building game when it went on sale last month. Honestly would have passed on it, but it was on my radar because you've spoken highly of it. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the expansion 👍
You should check out the the rising darkness expansion for transformers. I wasn't too impressed with my first 1-2 plays of the core game either, but by my 3rd to 4th game it really hit me and I like it as much as GI Joe now. Now with this new Decepticons core set, you can play Decepticons vs Autobots (1v1 or 2v2) and it's a lot of fun.
Your comment actually has gotten me hyped to jump back into it. I did play it a few weeks ago but I definitely want to see what the expansions will bring. There’s a lot on the way when it comes to expansions for this game. It’s insane! It’s getting more attention than G.I. Joe in that respect.
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight Yeah I'm looking forward to Infiltration and Dinobot expansions. Really curious to see in what ways they change up the game. I can't wait to get back to G.I Joe either though. Definitely one of the biggest sleeper hits for me when it came out. It was much better than I expected it to be and I'm glad there is another reason to jump back in now.
The promo 'cardboard' stuff is very m'eh. I wont' ever use the Hangar or this Command Center. The promo cards are decent though but if you're not getting them for free through Renegade as a pre-order, I'd skip them unless you really want Dawn Moreno (extra Joe Leaders is always a nice thing to have). The rule book does include what they missed in the core rule book. The Joe Leaders seem to be very expansion centered with their skills so not sure how I'd rate them for now as Storm Shadow NEEDS to fight Ninjas and Hawk NEEDS to be buying the new vehicles. Some of the new Joes are cool and you get Owen Wilson as Chuckles, Ryan Gosling as Psyche-Out and WWEs Sheamus as Ambush. Agree on the insert. I had every intention to put this stuff into the corebox but I just couldn't bring myself to throw this box away because of the insert.
I used the Hangar for half of a game and never used it again. The promos are both not that great but the cards are neat. I wouldn’t pay for the promos. I don’t think they’re worth the price. After reading this rulebook, it made sense. They did a much better job with this rulebook but not much was needing detailed explanations. Still, I’ll take this over the last rulebook any day! Owen Wilson as Chuckles was funny! There were a few cards that had me thinking that the poses looked funny. Reminded me of Zoolander, actually. Not bad just funny. As for the expansion box, I fit the Story Mission Cards there and everything else in the core box. I couldn’t get everything to fit in the core box, unfortunately. That’s okay because the art on the box looks great! Here’s hoping the Command Center brings something fresh to the gameplay.
How does it play? I really love the GI Joe deck builder. I though it’s one of the most original deck builders recently made. I recently picked the poketto collection of mint tin games and and I was surprised with entertainment value for solo player in such a small package. The only one where you don’t get the full ness of the game in solo is the blessed dark but still works. This led me to game crafter tin knight. Taunted as the mom tin make night. And ordered to try since with such a claim I need to see what’s about. I would love you to do a review on these type of pocket games. Specially iron tin and tin knight.
I’ve never heard of those pocket games but since I tend to like your taste in board games, I’ll look into them. I feel the same as you with G.I. Joe Deck-Building Game and the expansion so far is great! I have to play it more but the addition of the command center is awesome! In my opinion, it’s worth it but it makes playing the core box missions a little easier.
I hope i get this expansion, cause i really like the game too, and the box could be better use for store the mission cards. In the orginal box game, the mission cards with the sleeves got curved corners due to limited space
Yeah, the same thing happened to my sleeves. I use the expansion box to store them. There’s also another expansion releasing soon. I noticed yesterday. It will add 2 story missions to the game. Hopefully you can get your hands on this expansion before the next one releases!
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight Recently I realized that there is an expansion not only to G.I. Joe, but also a missing piece for the Transformers Deck-building game (Rising Darkness/Infiltration Protocol). Now I would like to have them all, but I would also like to try something new .. so I don't really know what to focus on right now. Maybe I should stick to my favorite games .. (?)
@@wieslawgawron3838 I recommend going for what you know you’ll love and want to play. After that, you can go for the games that you’re interested in. That way you don’t spend too much money at once and you get to play what you love while saving money for the next game!

I’ve heard the core’s rule book is really bad. It’s what’s kept me from getting it.
He goes really out of his way to help you through the rulebook in his original review
It really does have a bad rulebook. That’s unfortunate because the game is really good. If you ever have a chance to play it, I highly recommend it.
