    This is the best video I've found on setting up the Gold Bug 2.

    I've seen this demonstration done before but the way you explain it all, and demonstrate it is perfect. I thought I had the ground balancing down pat but I never knew the detector would make a sound either going up or going down depending on how low/high your number was set to. I love how you naturally found a target during your demo and so swiftly identified it and moved along. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you for the easy to understand and follow instructions for ground balancing y GB2. The first time I used your method made the GB2 operated as advertised and I'm finding insanely small targets with little or no background noise. Great job Joe.

      He said that it was a small piece of lead shaving. This is commonly detected because hunters fire shotgun shells in desert areas.

    Outstanding video--I just bought a used GBII and I'm itching to get to the Gold Country to find me some nuggets. Your video was right on--clear and concise--I like the GoPro POV lesson--Thanks

    LuckyJOE thank you so much. The dealer that sold me my machine gave me some incorrect info on setup. A very comprehensive and generous information package that you put together. Ta mate.

    Have you seen the new 5"dbl d coil from fisher?
    I have a omega and thinking about buying a 5" coil for it. Great detectors!

  • @Calchick7
    @Calchick7 10 років тому

    Does anyone know if you can remove the cables from the coils to change out the coil size? or do you have to take the entire cable/coil thats attached together off then switch to the other size coil?

    I just picked up a Fisher GB 2 for twenty bucks. Good deal? There was 8 grams of dental gold in the pouch too.

    How does this conpare to the Minelab aureka gold? Looking to buy a metal detectore but not over priced crap.

    • @michaeldavis4746

      Sir, I have a Gold Bug 2 and also a Gold bug original version. The Gold Bug 2 has a few more important features on it that may come in handy. These are the most sensitive gold detectors for the consumer market especially made for finding small gold nuggets which are what the vast majority is what you are going to find. The GB2 will detect gold flake that you cannot see. Fisher M-Scope is the oldest manufacturer of metal detectors in the US going back more than 75 years and does not make pieces of "junk." They are made very well and are in demand by professional gold prospectors. You will have to learn how to set it up and ground balance it. The whole operation is very simple but you should practice a lot and keep the owner's manual near you when first learning. It is a manual ground balance machine that has significant advantages to the other "auto-tune" machines by other manufacturers. Remember these are not cheap to purchase but they are really reliable and put the nuggets in your vial.

      Sorry but no. You would have to contact Fisher directly but there is little chance they would give up any schematics.

    any1 know if can use this on a beach where there is salty water?

    • @michaeldavis4746
      @michaeldavis4746 5 років тому

      I would say you can use this Gold Bug 2 on DRY sand but NOT recommended for wet sand or in the salt water. This is a VLF detector and all VLF detectors have some trouble with highly mineralized soils.You should have no trouble with detecting on fresh water beaches though. For salt water you need to consider another type of metal detector using Pulse Induction. This is a much deeper going, an all metal mode detector, and almost totally immune to high mineralization. I use a White's TDI BeachHunter Extreme for salt water beaches. Hope this helps someone.
