Dungeons and Dragons 5e monk needs some love, because we all know one dnd will not be able to buff monk properly. So i made a homebrew monk subclass that "makes you feel like Spider-Man". Its got web shooting web sling, spider sense, power, responsibility. All the good bits.
#onednd #dnd5e #dungeonsanddragons #dungeonsanddragons5e #dungeonmaster , #dndcharacter #dndtok #spiderman #spiderman2 #spidermanremastered #dndmemes #dnd
dnd, role, moral, neutral, du0026d, evil, chaotic, tabletop, rant, illustration, critical, monk bad, monk good, animated, class, classes, wotc - Розваги
So are the completely homebrew subclass videos worth doing? or should I keep doing the normal buff vids?
Think it is good to diversify. Gives more avenues to create in case you just aren't feeling like working on a subclass, a rework, or something else.
I would say both are good ideas. The Buff videos are my personal fave but it never hurts to have more than one big series on a chanel for people to enjoy. Just need to find a rythem that works for you when it comes to making them.
I'd be interested in seeing more homebrew subclasses.
I think both are great maybe like you do the buffs and stuff and once in like a blue moon you make a original homebrew subclass
I like both.
I appreciate our representative spiderman being a Goblin, cackling and skittering around
the reason i chose goblin was because it can hide as a bonus action and it gives you flurry of the small. Plus Spider-man with big pointy ears is cute haha
@@bonewizard Reminds me of Spider-Ham and i honestly thought for a good part of the video that it was just that.
"Should spin some webs with some ki, commiting murder in first degree" is such a raw line
i was pretty proud of that one lol
@@bonewizard you should be. I replayed those first 10 seconds a solid 5 times
Oh sick! And my singing voice is dog water too lol@@aguy9602
@@bonewizard not as bad as you'd think. But if it was any better the joke wouldn't have landed as well.
I feel like a drow with this subclass could be cool af
Also i hope this is a new series
OOhhhh that would be terrifying in the under dark, maybe throw in a little Gloomstalker.
Blessed by Lolth XD
All fun and games til the dm gives the class to a drider
Drider-Man, Drider-Man, gain Lolth's curse to go whoop some can!
I love how creative your subclasses and changes can be, without fundamentally changing so much of the class identity. Your monk video was superb and I am now using it in my games from now, but this is a whole different kind of cool. Perfect balance of allowing interesting gameplay related to a fun niche, and some cool and different features that even the game supports. Thank you Mr. Bone Wizard, and may your webs stay sticky.
Thank you so much! Glad to see the changes are getting used.
For the 11th level feature, maybe as a bonus any creatures that fail a save against your webs count as being perceived by your Blindsight, no matter their distance from you, inspired by spiders sensing thrashing prey in their webbing.
as a dm id just let my players do that lol
I honestly love this idea and would like to see other subclasses based on fictional characters.
i can do that
@@bonewizardTulok the Barbrarian made one for each class
Or can you?
@@gaidencastro9706 in the comment section of his monk video he already said he doesn't know who tuluck the barbarian is
It's like you read my mind. Might include this in my campaign!
Do it up!
Finally, Monks getting the respect they deserve. I'd love to see some magic items that kinda go with this subclass, like a gadget that allows for more versatility in the kinds of webs you can create or something.
Maybe something lets you add your proficiency bonus+level in lightning damage to webbed opponents?
If you were to do more subclasses based on Superheroes, I think a Captain America based Fighter subclass could be cool. Let you use a shield as a weapon with new ways to defend your teammates by throwing a shield between your teammate and a foe. Maybe throw in some Inspiration and abilities to coordinate your teammates could tie it all together.
This so much this!!
THISSSSSS
I think a Rogue based on Gambit or Nightcrawler from the X-Men could be really cool too, Maybe even a Ghost rider Warlock.
also possibly inspired by games that let you duel wield shields too. imagine having two shields, you can yeet them around and be the ultimate tank as well!!!!!
Funny thing is your spider sense skill shouldnt even require you to be conscious Spidey sense has let peter fight while passed out drunk
As someone who is planing on playing a human monk from the unerdark who was riased among the drow (homebrew setting so do not worry these drow are good guys) I am SO tempted to ask my DM to let me use this. Love the video and keep up the good work Bone Wizard. And if you need any ideas for homebrew subclasses...
Artificer: charioteer specilization (Give the inventor a bat mobile)
Bard: College of Broadcasting (A bardic anouncer whos deal is extending range of their spells to come form allies)
Cleric: Luck/Fortune Domain
Druid: Circle of The Deep (Ocean Druid)
Fighter: Man At Arms (A Fighter that specilizes in swaping weapons and fighting styles )
Just a few ideas.
buddy i get a lot of my ideas from YOU. You could probably make a better one than i could
Man At Arms sounds so fun. I love utilizing several weapons for mechanical benefit as well as roleplay purposes. Hard to get the mechanical strength down unless you spend a bunch of levels multiclassing and ASIs on feats and then at that point you're just shooting yourself in the foot. A fighter subclass that does all that would be great. I hope somebody does it if Bone Wizard doesn't.
Actually for my campaign book I was about to start putting out videos and a kickastarter for circle of the leviathan was gonna be in it. Ocean druid that kind of functions as an alternative moon with some differing abilities
if you want a sponsor, i will absolutely sell out@@spac3dout320
Awesome! I love how many options this gives! Some real choice in combat in a martial is incredible!
spidey would have alot of options, so the spidey subclass should too.
@@bonewizard with a vampire race I think you just created miles O’Hara the future Spider-Man by the way or is it Miguel O’Hara?
This subclass looks so cool! All the abilities are very thematic and strong without being overpowered, and I really want to play this now :)
I would absolutely love to see more homebrew subclasses from you! Please do more
thanks! not sure what i would do. I do have a venom warlock thing written somewhere.
@@bonewizard OH HELL YES I love warlocks and venom sounds like an awesome idea. You should definitely do that
ya its basically a warlock who made a pact with an ooze. think Juiblex@@ComradeVenus
@@bonewizard what are your thoughts on the path of giant for the barbarian? He still has not come out yet because they’re still working on some kinks. It seems cool on paper but the issue I see a players will get confused of giant weapon when I read it, I thought wait, I can find it adult dragon and smacking around with a weapon
Man, this was beautiful. If this is going to become a series, which I hope I really enjoyed the video, Spidey deserves to be the first one.
hell yeah, this subclass is great!
I'd love to see more homebrews for martials, as I am a barb main myself
ah, a man of culture i see.
What a great video and perfectly timed! I'm a huge monk fan and have also been into a lot of spider-man media lately (especially miles morales stuff). This video couldn't have come out at a better time
just got into spiderman ps4 since its on PC now. and man its gooooood
great video, loved the monk buffs in the other video definitely needed the upgrades, and love this. Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
"Spiderman doesn't kill people" I say, staring at the screen as I 15-part air combo a basic thug enemy off the side of a skyscraper
It ok i sent him flying into a soft looking patch of concrete. He'll be fine.
@@bonewizard 2/2 boney boys agree that concrete is soft enough to break your fall from that height
Spiderman, spiderman, throwing healthbars into the can. Can he be evil too? I dont know, hes just some dude. Look out! Here comes the new home brew
I would love to see more homebrew subclasses. I find that dnd doesn't have enough variation in subclass themes alot of the time (except for wizard and cleric imo), and homebrew tends to address that.
You got many laughs out of me and a subclass of my favourite superhero to boot? You earned yourself a sub! Can't wait to try it out in my next game!
This is by far the best way to buff monk I’ve ever seen, and I will absolutely be incorporating all of this, this is the kind of stuff martials need
Have fun
POG UA-cam actually recommended me the basic monk rework video (killer job btw, it looks almost as much fun to play as sorcerer now) and an hour later I'm watching a true Spiderman subclass be born
i guess the algoithim is being nice to me for once haha. And im glad you like the monk rework. Have fun with it!
WOOO! WOOOOO!! WEAVERS TOOLS! WEAVERS TOOLS! WEAVERS TOOLS! THATS WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR! THATS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! FUCKEN' WEAVERS TOOLS! BEST ABILITY IN THE GAME!!!!
you said it buddy
Spidey is also the brilliant mind behind the web slingers, since he can’t do that himself. Could a DND proficiency include this as well? Alchemy of some kind to replace chemistry? Idk I haven’t looked at proficiencies in depth
@@mastermudkip4629 you could easily switch out weavers tools for another proficiency.
Stumbled on you because of your Buffing Monk video and have since watched most of your D&D videos. Was surprised I wasn't subbed yet but fixed that.
Not sure if looking for recommendations or anything, but another UA-camr named Tulok did homebrew Spider-Man-esque Artificier along with lots of other stuff.
Regardless, enjoying your content and looking forward to more.
Thanks for the sub friend. You are the second person to mention Tulok to me. I guess i should check him out.
@@bonewizard He is stepping away from D&D or it least it seems, but 500+ builds and some homebrew sprinkled in is a trove of ideas.
Yeah, give us "Way of the Eight Limbs", Wizards! I want my monk to be full of the exaggerated swagger of a Turami teen.
You really captured the fantasy and "made me feel like Spiderman." I'm definitely interested in seeing more of this kinda stuff!
i got a whole channel full of garbage for you to try.
I was just setting a campaign with a monk, fearing it would be left beheind in some point, but this video and the monk remake really made my day man, keep up the great work, love this kind of video
Thanks. Hope your monk has fun!
Wow you are criminally underrated this is amazing content. Honestly a solid 8/10 video, unique concept, nicely balanced. Good job 👌
Glad you enjoyed!
Fun fact: not only is a weaver someone who sews, it’s also a type of spider
oh ya. Neat.
Jokes aside, this is great! This specific subclass can play so well not only into fantasy of being a Spider-Man, but also into other themes. Like some drow monk serving Lloth, for example. An actual CONTROLLER subclass is really cool.
And more homebrew would be welcome, of course.
a patron also mentioned you could use weavers tools and flavor your webs as magic cloth.
Oh my god that saving your friends joke was fucking foul and I love it! Your mind is an eldritch beauty my friend
Thanks... oh also spoilers to a story that came out in the 60s.
Just finished the video. Not a dnd player but as a Spiderman fan, I definitely feel this gave a nod to the character. Awesome work.
I did my research haha
I would love to see more homebrew classes. I've only found your channel recently and have been enjoying all your videos. Thank you for making my day better.
I love how busted this class seems without being unfun for others
When Spiderman shoots his goo in everywhere and everyone then beats up people, he gets praise for it.
But when I-
preach brother
Literaly had a dnd conversation about monks and Spider-Man talk back to back this is perfect. Now please stop stalking me. ❤
im living in your head rent free!
LOVE SPIDER MONK!! Hopefully the algorithm will let this video be popular, because this is some tasty homebrew!
delicious spider webs
Bro I just finished the rework monk one and you, simply nailed on 2 consecutives videos back to back, I hope you make other ones couse you are amazing
I really like this. God... I love this so much.
I could not help but start humming 'Fighter-man' in my head as you were doing your version of the Spiderman song.
While I like subclasses the most I mostly care about high quality contente which this clearly is
thanks mate. That means alot
Spider-Man monk is sick, love this idea and the buffed monk. Can’t wait to see more
Thanks!
The jingle in the beginning is hillarious!
thanks, im not a singer nor a song writer lol
I love that Web slinging doesn’t cost Ki. Only being able to thwip a handful of times before you have to take a breather just wouldn’t feel right.
Bruh, this ended up on my feed. As a Spiderman fan growing up (I also avoided all Marvel spinoffs but watched the SM movies except Holland). Have to watch this.
Ok i also dont really watch Marvel movies, but you should watch the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. I really think they are the nest ones.
I'd love to see more Marvel or DC inspired subclasses, just so fitting for D&D's superhero-like gameplay- Depending on your table of course
Thank you so much for making this, I love spiderman so much and made the class into a homebrew creation on dnd beyond. I intend to use your creation in the next campaign I'm in.
ngl, came here from the monk video but I have binge-watched all of your content and it is top-notch, keep it up!
Saw this video and immediately started building a character, love it!
Honestly a great subclass that really double triple downs on the mobility that monks are known for. Great goo dude!
THIS IS SPECTACULAR.
I'm gonna annoy the shit out of my DM to let me play this. I've already convinced him to use your Monk upgrade, so this shouldn't be too much
Have fun thwiping
Love your takes on dnd please keep making these when you have the ideas along with your other stuff
"With a single letter and that would be fine"
Im just following instructions
you got me dude
also yeah I do love to see homebrew videos. I often try making... silly homebrew for myself, trying to transform a class into like. its opposite intended playstyle. Like make a rogue which is a close quarters brawler. It's a whimsical past time. I think you have great taste when it comes to making homebrew, I would love to hear more of these ideas. Especially if it comes packaged in video format
Your takes on how to improve existing classes/subclasses are great, but this... this was beautiful. Would love to see more homebrew subclasses from you
I love homebrew subclasses and am excited to see what else you create
glad you liked it!
I've never watched a goddamn homebrew subclass video... that made me actually hype, and happy, and nostalgic.
My boy Spidey is here 👊
Dude Spider-Man is so cool. One of these days ill be in a campaign and using this subclass.
@@bonewizard I am genuinely happy to hear that, this subclass is so good and it's made me wanna go replay Insomniac Spider-Man
@escuro8468 i just beat the second dlc for the first insomniac Spider-man game tonight. Its so good.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's been trying to turn monks into Spider-Man since 3rd edition.
iv been fantasiseing about this exact thing for WEEKS and someons actually made it! thank you so much.
Your welcome
balls (I'm helping you pay rent, after your landlord FIXES THIS DAMN DOOR)
I hope to see the official subclasses reworked soon or more homebrew ones. Thanks for your hard work on buffing weak classes and your other fun videos.
Edit: B
I love this subclass. Would love to see more of what else you come up with.
i got a warlock that lets you become a weird grappling venom. Not sure if its good, gotta reread it.
I played a Luchador Monk Minotaur once named Dak Toro Jr, i loved him, im excited to see ur luchador vid. also i love monks!!!!
i absolutely love your version of the monk. i did try to make my own changes to the class before finding your channel, but dang i really like your version. and this subclass is just *chef's kiss*
thanks mate. Go nuts and start thwipping and punching!
The fact I’ve been thinking about making Spider-Man in D&D for days now
Great video! I've wanted to see a good Spider-Monk for a while and you delivered. I'd love to see more like this!
More subclasses! Please! Your tales are unique and you showcase info with ease and passion
I was already going to like this because I'm a big Spidey fan even if I don't actively play DnD these days but the Joe Quesadilla dig solidified that.
you think its worth getting into the current Spider-man comics? I heard they are not great but idk maybe they are good.
Your Videos Are Awesome! I'm Super Excited For The Homebrew Series!!!
thanks mate. Hopefully its good.
I've only recently found your channel but I'm loving it! A little surprised to see that you're not bigger.
I found your channel yesterday and I'm really enjoying all the ideas and cool DND stuff you make.
Glad you enjoy it!
Masterpiece of a video. J Jonah Jeremy Crawford said he wanted Spider-Man and you did not disappoint!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Keep up the awesome work/videos! I’m callin it now this channel is going places
Carjackings *are* at an all time high. Oh gawd it's the spiders! Spiders with the proportional strength of spiders! Seriously though... this was great! Hilarious and entertaining as always, but you really nailed Spidey with the features, which surprised me. Yes I would like to see some more custom subclasses.
thanks mate. And also i think talking spiders trying to mug people would be a very fun dnd encounter haha
@@bonewizard "Hey, man...I'm really sorry about this, but I got 6,000 kids back in the web and they're gonna eat me if I don't get some nuggies money. And this economy, you know."
This was so cool! I personally tried to make a monk/artificer for Spider-Man, but this is awesome 😊 definitely want more content like this
Loving this sort of work Mr. Wizard, great job
Thank you!
Other than not having something to do with intelligence ability wise that i caught, this is a perfectly viable subclass
These are great! Can't wait to see what wacky idead you have next.
I like how this gives me tulok vibes, but with you its homebrew which i love. Good job man.
LITERALLY HAD THIS THOIGHT FOR YEARS
I legitimately just binged all of your videos between last night and this morning after finding your monk video. Great stuff dude.
All of them? What did you think of the pizza video? Lol
@@bonewizard Considering that it sounds like the type of conversation *my* friends would have, I really can't say anything.
Wow!! This is so cool! Ive always wanted to play spider man in dnd bht i lack the creativity to actually do it, you're amazing!
Spider monk is crazy and i love it
get sticky with it
Love the build videos! Please feel free make them longer like this one. Let’s see a full Dronelock vid ;)
I think your feel of balance of the game is supernatural, and I'm glad you are sharing your talent with others. Thank you very much for your hard bone work❤💀
I'd actually love to see more homebrew subclasses from you, you seem to have this stuff figured out pretty well.
Edit: one thing I would recommend is mentioning somewhere in the thumbnail/title that this is a homebrew class, as for the longest time I skipped out on this video cause I assumed from the title it was just one of those "how to make xyz character in dnd" videos
This is probably the best capstone ability I've ever seen
Bro, that capstone ability was so fucking cool. Like, for real. It's the coolest shit i've heard all month. And it's also super thematic. Fantastic job.
Also, i keep coming back to the Warlock super quick build. That video was cool as shit too, and really funny. Could you make one for an artificer? Whenever i make one i really struggle with the flavour of the class.
Making more homebrew? I say send it!
i love the spider-man always gets back up vibe of the last ability
Dude beat the sinister 6 after getting shot in the gut. Spidey is tough.
Dude, I can't wait to see your channel continue blowing up. You make amazing content and I look forward to seeing more of it :)
I appreciate that! Hope my future videos are just as good.
@@bonewizard honestly I see you being another pointy hat; intensely quality videos on home-brew and just a very respected voice in the dnd sphere. (I know your channel hasn't exactly gone that same way his has but I mean this as a compliment)
that is beautiful! excited to see what you do with the "base" monk subclasses!
I’m glad I’m seeing you pop up on my recommended feed again, it’s been a hot minute since I didn’t have to look for your videos actively
I’d love to see fighter get some superhuman love, since wizards are wishing at high levels are fighters are… hitting more I guess
Either a subclass for that Captain America power, or a buff to their main class
Theres alot of things id change about my fighter video now lol
Just discovered today and I already love all your content haha. Keep going skelly boy.
Subscribe for more.
This subclass is sick. I think you should keep going. I've watched most of your videos now. There good
Glad you like them! i can make more if people want more.
This subclass looks super strong and super fun. Everyone is gonna enjoy the coolness of a monk flying from an enemy to another using web slinging. Absolutely love it, very Spider-man on a ton of levels but also generic enough to be used in any campaign
Thanks! I have no idea how to work a spiderman monastery into a game lol
@@bonewizard I think anything regarding spiders in general can work. Maybe a monastery dedicated to the Drow goddess, whatever her name is
I found your channel just a day or so ago and you're one of if not my favorite dnd homebrew creators. Love the work, keep it up!
Its an honor sir. Glad you like the vids.
This subclass should passively have a charisma bonus but any intentional action made with charisma should be with disadvantage. Cause as we know, Pete got that spider swag. At the same time, he fumbles so hard every day
So it should be good charisma but also bad at charisma?
