    I don’t understand the girl’s racquet comment. These are the types of racquets that most rec players should be using. A 3.5 or 4.0 player has no business using an RF97 or similar.

    Hey just dropping back into here to say this racket is awesome. 5% longer, 5% bigger head, proportions are great. I did a lengthy demo program at Swetkas and was surprised I ended up with this racket. When I showed it to my club Pro, he said it is the same racket his best friend uses. I added a bunch of weight to 12-o’clock and along the handle (Swetkas did this for me), and put on a leather grip. Poly stings at 50lbs for the win. Not trying to jinx myself but after a solid summer of tennis I’ve played the best tennis of my life with this racket (and good footwork and discipline to move into the ball). I would say I’m a 4.0-5.0+ depending on the day hitting big strokes every chance I get unless it’s doubles and then there’s more spin and lobs and and touch. Confidence, touch, power, very few mishits. No arm problems (~42 yo). This was too light for a soft racket out of the box to play a heavy game against a serious opponent but with the extra weight it really hits the spot and I am reaching levels I thought were long behind me.

    @Sam-Icy Рік тому +2

    Even if its 16x19 f you look at the string holes around where the sweet spot is - you'll notice that the holes are a lot more closer together and not so big. I think that really help's with the control.

    I know this is an old video, but I just demo’ed it. I really like it. Compared to the Radical 102 and the Dunlap CX 200 OS (105), this gives the best amount of feels and right amount of power. The CX200 has not enough power probably because the beam is skinny. The Radical has good power but It feels too light and lack of control.

      Yea this racket is great. I demoed a lot of other rackets. This one hit the spot. I’ve got a one handed backhand that’s almost as big as my forehand. Loving the feel, spin, and size. I don’t know why I used a mid plus for so many years.

    After two sessions I'm not liking it with Confidential as much as Harry does. I'll give it a 3rd try tomorrow. After that I'm having the BLADE V8 104 strung with Ultra Cable. I like that string in 3 other racquets and it may be a good match for this stick as well.

    Hello. I would like to know if you would recommend this racket to me when I am quite a beginner and I have been on the court about 25 times this season. I tried the Wilson Clash 100 and it wasn't bad but so far I've only played with my insanely hard Wilson hammer 4.2 and I'm a little bothered by how much the Clash springs. And now I'm deciding whether to buy a Clash or a Blade v8 ... I'm a 185cm tall man

    • @azfballplaya
      @azfballplaya 2 роки тому +1

      I've played with the Clash and have just demo'd the Blade 104. They both are similar in spin and swing weight. However, this blade is more stiff, slightly lighter, and obviously has a larger head size. I can't say that its good for a beginner with confidence, but I would imagine so. Its very forgiving with the larger head space, serves feel great, and its actually very maneuverable at the net. Try to see if you can demo it from a local pro shop or sites like Tennis Warehouse. Cheers.

      I got two of these a few weeks ago, too, after nearly giving up on the demo process having tried a bunch of mid plus long body rackets for months. Tried this racket out reluctantly and knew it was my racket right away. It was light, so I had the racket store add 10 grams total of tape - mostly at the top underneath the head guard, a bit underneath the grip - and replaced the grip with leather. Love this thing and hope it lasts 20 years.
      The weight modification threw off the balance a bit to be more head heavy but still feels great, soft, forgiving, powerful, really easy spin, lots of control in my opinion, too.
      The racket feels really proportional- 5% longer at 27.5 inches and 5% bigger head at 104. Feels really well balanced.
      I’m stringing it with Alu poly At 50lbs. Playing competitively against 4.0-4.5s and up to 5.0 depending on the day.

    • @scottanderson9852
      @scottanderson9852 2 роки тому +1

      @@SilverBloodedOne yea it’s working great with the added weight and balance. My hitting partner likes it too. I’m hitting with 50lb Alu poly. I might try something a little looser by 2-4lbs but expecting this to be my next 20 year racket.
      I also saw a Tennis Spin video of Federer’s racket and he had long strips of weight right on the top at 12-o clock under the head guard (nothing on the sides) which is what the racket store did on my 104s.

      I used to think so too. But this year, after a long layoff due to the pandemic and also turning 51, I found that the racquets I'd been playing with were a bit too heavy now for me and I couldn't generate the racquet head speed I was used to in the past. I switched to a lighter racquet and have been playing much better since...

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 3 роки тому

      My opinion is that it's somewhat like this.
      35% frame, 25% strings and tension, and 40% static weight, balance, and swing weight.

    • @a2casius
      @a2casius 3 роки тому +4

      They're all as important as each other. The problem lies in which you have Control over and the knowledge of how to manipulate. Unless you're a top 50 pro player and can go to the manufacturer to specify your choice of "Layup" (how and where the racquet flexes which would determine its stiffness in different areas), we're all stuck with the off-the-shelf frame. So, for me, it's important to find the right layup and feel in the frame. The rest, I can customise to my own desire.

    • @sjjapp
      @sjjapp 3 роки тому

      @@robertclary1718 who knows. Do you want it to be?
      Anybody that customise frames outside the normal ratio you see with most stock frames should be aware of the significant difference it has on a frames performance. It's massive. A majority of 'good' rackets on the market though have very similar specs. You know, 300g, 32cm balance, 320 swing weight, that kind of thing, + or - a bit here and there. Some frames fall outside of that normal range and their attributes are affected by that. Obviously quality is generally poor but that's not my point here. The point is you can switch frames and strings and tensions and it all matters a lot, but how a racket is customised matters a few percent more. A personal example would be when I had two of the same racket but they were poorly matched, and one played very differently to the other. I actually found, till I sorted the issue, that using a different racket but at my exact specs to be a lot better. It's easier to play with a racket, or a different racket even, at your custom specs but with different strings than to play with two of the same racket but with very different specs in my opinion.
      It's all important though and you can't really ignore any of the sides to this if you're looking to get as good of a setup as possible for you as an individual player.
