Great recommendations on the polys. Regarding the Velocity for the crosses - IMO, it's an absolute no-no with a shaped poly in the mains as it'll get shredded in about 2 hitting sessions, and the mains will stop moving (i.e. stop generating spin). Just my experience. Super nice to string, though as it's really soft. I recommend Tier One Ghost Wire for the crosses to soften up the bed as it's a really slick and soft poly (there are many others that'll do the job, of course, but the GW is one of them, and also reasonably priced).
Just strung speed mp 2022 with confidential 1.20 at 48/46lbs. Cut it after 3 times of play. Power and spin is ok, control is above average. But the feel is very board-like and not good ball pocketing. After hours of play, it gave me stiff in my arm around elbow/tricep. I never felt this before with other polys. So, I cut it and change to my go to string, Mayami tour hex, and everything is good again.
I was pleasantly surprised with how Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 1.18 performs in both the 2022 Prestige Pro 18x20 and an older YouTek Prestige MP 18x20 (both strung 57.3 lbs mains 55.1 lbs crosses). Plenty of power, super high comfort, great tension maintenance and the durability is surprisingly good - admittedly I rarely break strings but I already got like 12+ hours playtime and they fray a lot but don't break. The downsides are little spin and that these trings move a lot when they are not at the freshest. Next time I restring I will use Luxilon Ace 1.12, see how it goes. Definitely recommend trying a thinner gauge in these 18x20 rackets.
Nikco made a dramatic change in racquets. He went from a open string pattern to a close one. Yet, both are high on the control pattern scale. He could go with Head Hawk Touch for the co poly's soft feel& easy aid for power and spin. Trionic by Genesis is also a softer triangle co poly shaped string and Black 7(7edges) are very good in this category. A new Luxilon VIBE is also a great round string for semi firm feel at lower tensions for softer RA frames or stiff frames. Yonnex PTG Pro Tour GUT spin 17g is another great string for a semi firm feel, spin and power at lower tensions. Both the former and lader I have had excellent experiences 👌.
long time volkl cyclone user, switch to condifential last year after a couple of sessions. both are phenomenal strings IMO. cyclone was great, but it was too unreliable when flattening out balls (couldnt swing out confidently on most short balls). That being said, Cyclone has great access to spin and has a good playability life. On the flip-side - while Confidential sacrificed a little bit of forgiveness and comfort, it added on a notable amount of control. furthermore, playability is better on groundstrokes and baseline angles because I felt I was more easily able to hit small targets. Lastly, Confidential offers less touch than cyclone, but overall, a fair trade off.
I personally don't like Confidential ... My go to set-up now is Gamma Jet 18g Mains and Head Lynx Touch 17g Crosses great feel power and control. I have been using Gamma Jet for quite sometime now and added the Lynx Touch when it came out. I string mine at 48 lbs in my Yonex VCORE PRO 97D
Idk if I'm alone here, but I recently discovered solinco x natural and I love it more than anything. So soft and comfortable, every shot goes in where I want. Not a lot of power, but I can swing freely and get what I need. Except on serves, which are slower, but more accurate.
My 2020 prestige MP strung with 46 lbs head hawk touch 17g. Pretty good for 12 hours or so. Good feel and enough power, but I could go with 48# next time. Second racket coming strung with velocity 17g @ 52 lbs so i can test out whether i play with poly better or multi. Will try lyx tour and hyper g next.
Thanks, Harry for the great content and for sharing your precious knowledge! Could you provide a little more about the difference in the effect of soft and hard or firm strings both in poly and synthetic?
I never liked any Solinco strings but Tour Bite 1.20 at a low tension. Others were totally unpredictable. TB 1.20 is not as stiff as its siblings. Look at the TW University string comp tool.
Why don't you recommend any Babolat strings? A simple balanced string is the Babolat Xcel for me - set at a lower tension and my tennis elbow was gone instantly. Soft, plays well, decent control and an all-rounder.
@@Jakub_G_Tennis Good string but unfortunately loses tension and goes dead after 12 hours of play. Solinco confidential will be more playable for 30% longer. Head Lynx tour is also a good choice. Myself I am cheap and use TierOne Black Knight, restring every 3 weeks.
Hi, my name is AJ Nunez from Atlanta GA and I'll love to see a video about most muted poly to the most crispy one? I love muted like hyper G but it will be awesome to see your (+/-) 10 strings mutest to crispiest. Thanks AJ Nunez
Harry what would u recommend for pure drive tour? For a good answer i'll buy u many coffees! lol. For real though. currently using pro kennex xl something at 55lbs
If you want something to compliment the drive, go with RPM Blast around the lower fifties higher fourties. If you want more control and power, get tour bite or confidential at 17 g
Could you do a string review on prokennex IQ strings? it is one of the best selling strings in the Philippines, I'd like to hear your thoughts about the string Thanks and more power to your vlogs!
IQ Poly XT is a nice soft powerfull round string. Nothing special, I use it on the crosses with a shapped poly, good snap back and tension maintenance. IQ Hexa is the best shapped poly I've tried ! It's on the firm side, a lot of pop and control. Too bad it was dead in 5 hours... Impact Plus is the best multifilament on the market, similar (or same?) as Gamma Professional, both made by Gosen in Japan. Very powerfull string, great touch, average spin. Moves a lot, better in hybrid on the mains with a round poly. Didn't test IQ Cyclone, don't like twisted strings. I think PK poly strings are made in the same factory as Solinco in Taiwan.
Hey, I love your channel, Would you do a video on different ways to take care of your tennis racket? , so as to have it in top condition for many years and then perhaps in 30 years sell it for a million dollars... haha.
I actually hate solinco confidential, I have tested it and cut it off after an hour 😂. To me the best strings are the following. MSV Focus hex Plus 38. Signum pro Hyperion, Signum pro Firestorm and Signum pro X-perience. I do string my rackets myself and had the chance to test a lot of strings. To me these are the best 2 brands, especially Signum Pro, and for a very affordable price.
@@thomaschippendale5503 I'm playing currently with the X-periance on my Yonex vcore pro 97 strung at 21/20 kg 1.20mm. I had the Hyperion 1.18mm on the v core 98...and .....it depends on what your are looking for in a string
Starting to sound like a broken record on Solinco Confidential. Babolat and Tecnifibre offer excellent alternatives in multiple guages and you play with the tension. If you want controlled power you're definitely looking at a hybrid in my opinion.
Lynx Tour in Mains and Lynx Touch in Crosses in a Hybrid Setup.
Try it :)

17 tour bite is the right one. It is a hard string.
