Ambition seduces and power corrupts in a nerve-wracking thriller from Academy Award® nominated director George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck). Idealistic campaign worker Stephen Meyers (Ryan Gosling) has sworn to give all for Governor Mike Morris (Clooney), a wild card presidential candidate whose groundbreaking ideas could change the political landscape. However, a brutal Ohio primary threatens to test Morris' integrity. Stephen gets trapped in the down-and-dirty battle and finds himself caught up in a scandal where the only path to survival is to play both sides. i personally love Paul Giamanni as an actor, he's very good.
This is not a Socialistic movie. Yes, the party in the movie is a democratic party but if anything, it shows corruption, greed, and the immoral/unethical truth of politics. This isn't about Conservatives vs Liberals. I'm a conservative but it's embarrassing reading extreme right wings think this movie is about bashing Republicans. It makes us look like we're morons when you post stupid ignorant comments that have no accuracy at all.

@RawVSsamckdown Yeah, aside from the fact that in "The Ghost" the politician in question was retired from office instead of running for it, the main character was a writer with no political agenda instead of an ambitious political staffer, that the plot of "The Ghost" was based around a murder mystery and conspiracy involved instead of simply a high-stakes election, and basically every other thing about it, the two movies are EXACTLY the same.

A friend of mine plays a political aid in the movie! I didn't see her in this trailer. She's a beautiful biracial woman. I'm told there was consistent banter between her and Ryan off camera, and she got direction directly from Clooney (hand on shoulder).
