I think you need to understand that the movie is about the character arc of Gosling starting out idealistic and the twist is like how he learns about the 'sausage making' even in what seems to him to be a 'perfect' candidate. And how that changes him. So it doesn't matter if you believe that 'specific' indescreition would happen...something always does. It was an efficient way to show that corruption quickly in the course of the movie.
Also very poignant thinking back to that original line about the plane ride and the turbulance..Gosling says: "nothing bad can happen to you when you're doing the right thing..." And of course that belief is proved patently untrue. The character arc of Gosling IS the story. And it was done really sensitively and well--you could almost hear his idealism (and heart) break...
Really wish they had done a spoiler discussion for this film, because that ending kind of took me by surprise. I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I was definitely a little confused by it.
Loving the new step laders in the set model.
Are there not enough chairs in the control room?
@Nemesis000000 the video was completely screwed they will probably re-upload it soon :)
Was I hallucinating earlier or did I see a review of the human centipede 2 in my sub box earlier that is now gone?
"If your name is Mike Morris you've got a great shot of being the President of the United States." - Ben Mankiewicz
car alarm at the end.
I like the "off" side of the young turks, with, for instance, that white kitchen latter behind Ben on the right...besides the fact that the program is good and interesting.
George Clooney always uses silence. Good Night And Good Luck is a perfect example of that.
@CHECABEAR
did you watch the review? I don't think anyone was going on and on about it unless you mean just talking about the movie which is typically what you do when you make a review......
@ParallelFire she is.
@ParallelFire You would be correct.
does the guy form ocians eleven reprisent an actual real life person?
Anybody else notice how Christy is always facing Ben?
Car jacking at 11:26
lol alanso "i bought all of it...not as a woman". i mean yes, that twist was sort of unexpected but still believable. not really sure what would've happened if it weren't for that subplot
@CenkIsAdorable yeah, and the step ladder behind Ben at one point! he he he
These guys are awesome. Greatest review show evar.
I love tyt because a car alarm goes off in the background and none of them seem to notice/care
Just saw this on a plane, the politics was totally unrealistic and I agree with Christie somewhat about the twist.
This movie is how Anikin Skywalker should've became Darth Vader!
Great movie. Ryan Gossling should get best Supporting actor.
I just watched this this afternoon. A lot of good points about the plot. I agree with Christy about that sub plot twist. I didn't buy it. And yeah, the politics were over the top for this political climate.
@ParallelFire id tap that
@NY1love LMAO I didn't notice that at first! Low budget much TYT? :P
I loved it I'd give it a 8.7
great movie
I didn't feel sorry for the intern chick at all, but what I want to know is I was supposed to?
@ParallelFire i THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE............
Can't help it.. FIRST!!
great review- well balanced- but get a 4th fucking chair at the table!
You guys talk way too much about these twists that you "don't want to ruin."
I didn't like it.
