I can confirm the Points & Money option worked... I had to book a night at the Louis Armstrong Hilton, so after Serena's thought experiment I figured I'd give it a try and "Sweet Success"!!!

I saw this on my way back home. This made my day. Thank you to the team for the name drops and call outs.
Now for Hilton: I just finished a stay in a Curio in New Orleans (phenomenal stay). I have a Conrad stay in Singapore in two weeks and we just booked a Hilton in Hiroshima next month. My favorite stay under the Hilton flag thus far is a tie between Conrad Osaka and Waldorf Astoria (Chicago). Second favorite stay is the Waldorf Astoria (Orlando). Luxury is nice but sometimes people can’t afford it whether on points or cash. If I can afford to stay in luxury I will but I like to opt for Curio collection hotels as none are the same. I’ve stayed at Curio hotels in Houston, Portland, New Orleans, Washington D.C., etc. When Curio brands are not available Hilton is where I tend to go. As Nicole said, it is a keen to a Hyatt Regency and for the most part, provides consistency in service all the way around.
We have (2) Hilton Aspire’s in our household and we love them. We get tremendous value year in and year out. Highly recommend if you spend at least 25+ nights in a Hilton a year, to get the Aspire ( i just hit 42 after this past stay.
I have never tried the gift cards as I organically spend all my credits at hotels so I cannot comment on that.
In our younger years, and in some recent cases when we were stateside, Embassy Suites is still a good option and provides excellent value. We last stayed in one back in late 2021 for an extended weekend in D.C. in a connected suite room with some family members; would still stay there now.
Nonetheless, no one can convince me that Hilton isn’t king of the hotel/hospitality industry. It’s also not to say other hotel brands don’t deserve loyalty, I just know what I am getting every single time I step into a Hilton hotel.
Great show as always and will one day get to a meetup.

@@LetsGetToThePoints sorry it took me so long to respond to this. I guess i missed the notification. Ok, so I have a lot of feelings about this one - and surprisingly to some, they are mixed. I would only go back to this property in certain limited scenarios. 1) the location is far from everything. It is at least 30 min away. the main town area is about an hour away. 2) I would go back for all the little experiences that the resort offers - there are many complimentary things to checkout: kayak, paddle boarding, access to private beach, kombucha making class (which was legit btw they really like sharing those things), coffee roasting class, a private farm tour with peacocks, rabbits, dogs, chickens, goats, tortoise and many fruits and vegetable plants (70% of the main restaurant needs come from that farm), and they also have paid jet ski which was totally worth it. 3) coming to the villa - it is huge for 2 people - the infinity pool water was slightly cold for us in november but I am told most of the year, especially in the summers it gets quite warm and nice. 4) the breakfast buffet is a great spread. you can order custom if you don't like what you see. OMG - 6 different types of yogurt, 5 different types of milk, about a dozen fresh juices, coconut water of course, mimosas, and a lot lot more. Overall very nice and luxurious, (in Mitch's voice) *HOWEVER*, if I am coming to Thailand and all the way to this island, I want to go OUT! Go scuba, checkout local cuisine and dining options, visit the temples and historic places etc. Bottom line - I would stay here for 2-3 nights and rest of the nights elsewhere closer to the town. Hope that was helpful!

Awesome episode! Good to know Hilton Mexico City does not take the Hilton GCs so I won’t count on it there. It also does not work at Hilton Maldives. I tried everything there including adding to Apple wallet to try to pay that way, various amounts. They probably thought I was crazy going back few times. 😅
Umana LXR is a property that can be considered. The villa is HUGE, bigger than my house. Private pool. Private hot tub.
Also, just tried out the Hilton credit at a SLH property and it credited. Nanuku in Fiji. 🎉
Best value though is The WB Abu Dhabi, Curio Collection by Hilton, as it includes theme park tickets with your stay!!! And if you add to max occupancy even if you don’t have that many in the room, they give you those theme park tickets! I tested it out by adding an extra person.

    Favorite Hilton property so far:
    Double Tree Iguazu Falls (Brazil)
I was a-bit hesitant because it was kinda pricey for one night: 180 usd, not bad but we know there are cheaper options.
However I was pleasantly surprised. Checked in around 10am so we were definitely early but the check in agent, no hesitation our room was ready (no charge), PLUS we were allowed access breakfast buffet even upon arrival (no charge). So essentially two days of breakfast even if we only stayed one night. I'm a Gold from Amex and they gave a little plate of treats with an appreciation card.

@@LetsGetToThePoints Mango House has a great breakfast. LXR, great infinity pool and access to its own beach/pools. I have some drone footage and I think its just there with Four Seasons as the best on the main Island. I think the best Hiltons are as listed, maybe less the SE Asian ones because cash rates are better value.
