The ultimate Delta sweet spot is on Vietnam airlines. From within Asia to Vietnam for 40k. Vietnam to Sydney for 70k and Europe to Sydney for 80k, all in business class!
We got the Delta Reserve a couple of years back when I was in the states (we flew Delta quite often) and we maintain it as I have over 200k Delta SkyMiles currently. We try to take advantage of all the credits but we come up short since we are overseas. Nonetheless, I was targeted for a Hilton/Delta offer last week and was upgraded to Delta Gold from silver for the next (6) months. I immediately took advantage of the upgraded status and am currently typing this comment from a KAL lounge in Seoul as I wait for my next flight to my final destination. I agree with Mitch and can fairly state that Delta is by far and away the best domestic carrier. Currently trying to take advantage of the 15% award discount by flying my mother in law out to Okinawa but the award availability for her dates currently doesn’t match up (will keep trying). Thinking of flying my family out to Korea from Okinawa as the Delta award flights are highly competitive later on this year for an extended weekend. Lastly, later on this week, I will be staying at the Grand Hyatt Incheon (hoping for the best) and will report back my experience on the next show. Great show as always.
Hi Carlos. Wow, it sounds like you’re really making the most of those SkyMiles! Congrats on your upgraded status. We hope you enjoyed your time at the KAL lounge and traveled safe to your final destination. Good luck with finding the award availability for your mother in law. That will be a special treat for her. Keep us updated on your Grand Hyatt Incheon experience...we know that will be tough. 😂
We truly appreciate your comment! This made our day. It means a lot to us that you enjoy the variety of voices and insights in our content. We'll keep shining for you!
Delta stays credit is a Calender year credit. It's new after the refresh. If you added it this year and haven't used it times running out. Use it and you can double dip the credit. Now and after the first of the year. I added the business gold with the elevated 90k miles. No annual fee first year. So I'll have 2 uses of the credit $300 before my annual fee is due if I don't wish to keep the card.
I don’t think I’ve ever flew delta my entire life 😅😂 I’ve only used delta miles to book on partners. Thanks for the tip about the one way vs round trip. I’ll have to check it out! Maybe it’s time for me to let go 5/24 too 😂
Nice! Delta miles are a sneaky way to travel without actually flying with them! Hope you find some sweet deals, and good luck with the 5/24 thing! We think the Barclays AA and Hawaiian cards are worth it! :)
Yay! Now I know what to do with my Delta Skymiles that others were telling me are worthless. Where can I find which routes/cities I can take between Europe and Asia for 80k? Is there a published list somewhere or do I just search one at a time? Thank you!
Hi and welcome to this wonderful hobby! You can search for this directly on Delta’s website. Choose flexible dates to see the calendar view. Let us know if you have questions!
We're glad you love the new Air France business class, Jenny! Serena will have to try to drink a whole bottle. She's a light weight though and might not even be able to finish a glass. 🥂
So, here's my thing. I live 20 minutes from the SLC airport. My daughter lives in ABQ. I can pay more for Delta and get to my daughter in two hours, or I can pay less and get there in 4+ hours, stopping all over the country on the way. So Delta it is. I've never used Uber or Lyft, but I will treat myself to Uber Eats once a month when I'm working in the office (I usually work from home), and that takes care of part of my Amex Gold credit. So I guess I'm part of a very niche population who can find value in both Delta Amex and Amex Gold. But not the ones with lounge access, because those are a waste on me.
Delta it is!!! It sounds like you have a solid plan for maximizing your travel experience! Delta can definitely save you time, and it’s great that you’ve found a way to make the most of your Amex benefits. Enjoy those Uber Eats treats!
Absolutely! The BOGO for first class is definitely a game changer when it comes to maximizing the value of the Reserve card. It’s a great perk for those who can use it.

Love the 15% off for being a card holder for sure and I've strategically scored some epic deals on Delta. Thanks for sharing more on this LGTTP!
So glad to hear you're taking advantage of those deals! It’s all about maximizing those SkyMiles and making the most of your travels!
Yes, it’s Friday. Another great episode!

Hi! Seats.aero is a great way to search for sample routes. Go to Explore/Delta, Search Europe to Asia and sort by business class. Happy searching!
Will do. I signed up to seats.aero pro thanks to LGTTP but haven’t had much time to play with it yet. Have to go back and rewatch your tutorials.

How do you do a status match. I am platinum on AA. I am not in a Delta hub. I have only flown on them once.
Hi Anita! We added the status match link to our show notes for this episode. Check it out and let us know how it goes.
I love the new Air France business class Serena. Drink a bottle of champagne for me!

“All of them”” 😂😂😂😂
