Thnk you John for making this video. Speed/ velocity test, trigger pull test😁 Wish we could've seen the joules results but just what I needed 👍 Trump24🦸♂️
Really fantastic review of these - the originalbof the less lethal launchers. Thanks Jon, these videos help so much to navigate the LTL options out there. Keep at it brother, hopefully UA-cam will realize that you're specifically posting "non firearm content" literally.
Love the Byrna SD. Carry mine on safe for the full power 1st shot. Looking forward to upgrading the magazines and possibly adding a 12 gram adapter in the future.
Although I’ve been watching for some time, I have yet to purchase a less lethal option. I just wanted to say that I enjoy the videos and appreciate the education. Thanks
I bought my Byrna SD based on you reviews a while ago. I either have it or may Umarex Walther PPQ with when out and about in a sling bag. For backup I love my HDP50 Compact with mods and dye learned on your channel. My Byrna is still the Golden Child.
@@AlternateArmsSDI will say your video from almost two years ago got me to purchase my first SD. It is complemented with the EP, and on top of lethal options, makes for a fortified defense plan. 👍
@bryancantrell1138 for your umarex, is it okay to keep the punctured co2 in it for extended amounts of time? I know ow those are a bit slow to load so wondering how you make it work?
@@borion7775 you really shouldn’t leave them pressurized for an extended period of time. The concept is, it’s quick to puncture, so you have all that power the moment you need it. You are correct, though, they do take a little bit of time to load. I actually designed and print speed loaders for them though. Once you have one of these fully modified, you’re going to get 8 to 12 shots full power.
Hey Jon, I forgot to mention that the trigger pull can be a bit hard for seniors and older folks on the first-pierce shot, as my mother had difficulty with the trigger. I'm glad the LE made it easier with a much lighter trigger pull. Hopefully they'll trickle down that tech to the SD and EP for 2024!
@@AlternateArmsSD Yes I just looked it up on their site, it’s the Byrna CL, compact launcher 😊! They are telling people so I’m sure you can tell people too 😂
My pleasure man! Just as an FYI, I also carry them on my website as well. I made a decision to beginning of the year that I was only going to carry brands that I trusted.
Good morning, Jon. As always, a great informative comparison video. I, like you, are a Byrna fan and have all their launcher models to include the limited edition Hi-Viz model. Love those sights, just wish there was a means to add the XL boost. My choice of all of them is the LE. Rationale is the trigger pull, I’m getting older you know, and increased power. Really looking forward to Byrna releasing their, in development, compact model. Again, great video and be careful out there.
Yeah those Hi-Viz site have been harder to come across since.. and this is just what I was told. The element they use in them are from Ukraine and Russia.
My understanding is if you pull the trigger with the safety on, you puncture the co2 cartridge. Then turn off safety to shoot with full power. If you have safety off and you pull the trigger with a new cartridge, it will puncture and shoot the first round at reduce power.
That is absolutely correct, however, in order to test these fairly, I had to test them in the only way the EP will fire. If you look at the next video, you will see that I explained that :-) thanks for watching!
@AlternateArmsSD also to be noted if you only pull the eps trigger to the first stage it'll only puncture the co2 and nor fire just like the sd/le will on safety
CURVED TRIGGER: YOU LIKE THAT, NO SWEAT, you can have that on all your Byrna Pistols, IF, They are Polymer. Take it apart, get Trigger shoe, Getly Heat it AND BEND Over a Piece of Round Stock , such as Pipe or PVC. Also Contact Byrna, and Get them going on aditionl after Market type Triggers. If they are Aluminum, Contact a Machinist, have one made.
Brother, you are four more creative than I am :-) at some point in the future I would love to have some sort of an aluminum milk to do stuff like that.
@AlternateArmsSD Thank you BIG TIME For the Response and Complement. Its the Tinker Hobbist in me, lol. My Wife DEFINITELY Wants The Lighter Trigger LE Model. THANKS AGAIN.
Done that way on purpose...this was designed for LEOs who load the mags two solid then three pepper. Two solids up front for either stopping power or breaking windows. FPS then drop off for pepper which do best at 280 to 300 fps.
Weird question....can you take the end piece off the LE to make it shorter? I'm sure the extra barrel length is what gives it the extra velocity, but I need a lighter trigger pull AND a shorter barrel length. Do you know if the gun would function if I took the extension piece off the LE model?
I sure can! On the LE/SD/HD, if you have the launcher on fire and pull the trigger, it will puncture the CO2 and send the first round down range AT about half a velocity. However, if you have it on safety, then pull the trigger, switch to fire, then fire, you’ll get full velocity on the first round. It’s actually a very quick process and easy to do once you get used to it.
@@AlternateArmsSD Oh thanks! That's very important to know! So in other words, if you are in a developing bad situation, and you have time, go ahead and prep it like described, and fire full force for a first shot! And if you end up not shooting it, just replace the Co2 cartridge that you just punctured.
i been trying to find a true test difference between the Byrna SD with the XL boost adapter and the new Byrna LE. do you know the FPS difference by chance? im wondering if its worth the upgrade from my setup to the LE or not. Thanks! i use this for traveling out of state.
Yeah, if I dont hit the "sweet spot" I get that. However, the second shot was 297 so the first would be just a bit over 300. It doesnt matter though, they have discontinued the EP :)
I see on the Byrna site both SD and LE show 5 round mag. Are these the only two they make now? Also, does the LE use a proprietary CO2 cartridge? Or is that a standard 12 g cart I can buy on amazon? How long will a pierced Co2 typically last in storage? How quick is it to pierce the cartridge ?
Hey brother, yeah, they were having issues with the seven round magazine feeding properly. I know they were still working on that and I’ve been told that we will have a revision out shortly. It is a standard 12 g cartridge that the LE uses. Also, as a general point, you do not want to leave these pressurize for extended periods of time. That’s the beauty of having the trigger to pierce function is that you do not have to puncture the CO2 until the moment you need it. The second you pull the trigger, it pierces the CO2. If you pull the trigger on fire, it pierces the CO2 and sends the first round down range at about 50% of velocity. All subsequent rounds come out full speed. If you pull the trigger on safety, then switch to fire, all rounds come out full velocity.
I was going to get a SD but thanks to your video, I'm going to get a LE. Great video and I like you. I don't like guns so this is a great alternative for me. Just one question: PLEASE can you suggest whom or where...or a video...on how I can become comfortable and know how to shoot? Thank you!
Good choice Brother! Practice is key in any self defense scenario. Get a heavy box, fill it with padding (Heavy foam or cardboard) and practice a lot. You can do this in your house, garage, or back yard.
Thanks! (Sister) And.. it wont be like when i was a kid and this boy shot a bee bee at a building, and it bounced off and left me a welt right under my eye? Will it? Bounce off and hit others? @CompleteTechnologySolutions
My apologies Sister! These fire EXTREMELY hard. IF you are using a pepperball for self defense, it will disintegrate when it hits. If you are using solid rounds for kinetic defense, they hit VERY hard. If you shoot a brick wall, your likely to destroy the round as opposed to it bouncing but it certainly COULD bounce. @@danab172
@@AlternateArmsSD Thanks. Do you have another short tutorial and explanation of all this. And please recommend a tutorial on how to use it including how to hold it. I saw a holder that included a laser. I'm so psyched. I can add this to my stun gun flash light. And feel super protected when I go for my night walks or bike rides alone. Also, I live in Connecticut. Can I carry this in a grocery store? Walmart? Etc. How about when I go to NYC? Also, if I wind up somewhere not realizing there's a metal detector, will they confiscate it? Or just turn me away. I'm super psyched. We just had our car windows smashed in two nights ago, at home. And it prompted me to find this. I always was against guns. I don't want someone's blood or life on my hands and conscious, if I can try to prevent it. But this is perfect, and I feel bad ass about it. Haha. Thanks for your time and response.
Great video sir! I have the HD and will be upgrading it to the 12g kit that also extends the barrel ever so slightly. Any idea what FPS/joules i will have after that? Trying to determine if power will be close enough to the LE. I also ordered the 7-round mag after learning it works on the classic HD (thanks for the tip)
That SD is very consistent. I decided on buying a Byrna but I'm not sure the SD or LE. The SD looks to be easy to conceal but the LE has a little more umph and range. I've watched many many of your videos and I want to say thank you for doing them. I really like the S2 but that's huge, I can't see edc'g that thing every day. Is it possible to edc)conceal carry the LE ?
Greetings! Thanks man! Yeah, its actually easier to conceal than you'd think. You might also look at the Salt Supply S2.. Its a little bigger but very smooth.
I have the SDXL as my EDC. It is no longer available from Byrna. Very close in performance to the LE. The trigger spring mod improves the SDXL's overall performance.
I was able to get the Hi Viz model with the glowing iron sights before they had to take it off the market because the element needed to make the glowing sights is only found in Ukraine and Southern Russian. I get 14-15 Joules on average as it was designed for law enforcement and armed security at the time. Now we have the LE which is a little stronger.
You answered my questions about the Byrna and have certainly reassured me that I am making the correct decision with the LE. A very nicely done job of comparing. I wonder, can the 12 gram CO2 cartridges that are available online be used with the LE?
I haven’t done any modifications on the Byrna yet. There are several people that are working on it though. I know that you can install an extended barrel pretty easily, which increases the power considerably.
Awesome video with great detail. I’ve researched several launchers and keep ending up back at Byrna, it seems as though they have a solid customer base and great product line. I have spoke to Byrna on several questions. The LE is 1/2 longer than the previous models. Buying 2 LE models for carry and around the house. Please advise a good LE choice of holster, Byrna admittedly said they recommend I buy an after market since they don’t have a good selection. Please test the Byrna Mission 4 when possible. I am likely purchasing it for in and out of the house and around the property. Thanks
Hey Troy! The mission 4 is already enroute ;) Stay tuned for that one. AS for the holsters, I did a recent video on "Greggs Holsters" .. Take a look. I think they might have what you're looking for.
The size of the Byrna, for conceal carry, and being 68 cal, makes them attractive as pepper-ball launchers. I wish there was a California LE version (pepper-balls are illegal) that had less shots, but kept the power in the 25j area for the whole magazine and not just thee first shot. Great comparison video. Thanks.
For over a year Byrna had a program with California that allowed you to take the BSIS Chemical Certification Exam through Byrna and it allowed you to buy, carry, and use Pepperballs/Max in the state. Last spring Newsom changed the laws again and made it impossible to get the certification from Byrna so unless you took the exam in time, he made it illegal again and no one knows why.
Agreed. I have been told that they have something new coming out that will solve some of this and make them even smaller for CC. Yeah, I ship a lot to CA and it seems like they simply don't want their people having the right to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. ITs a shame.
Great video. I've been considering the Byrna LE for my home and to carry when I travel. I read on their site about being able to accept a stronger cartridge. Do you know more about that and I also understand that you can't leave the cartridge in for a long period. I was thinking that you could leave it next to the nightstand but that would stink if you had to load it all before you use it..
Hey brother, thank you so much! If you’re using the LE version, it will run a standard 12 g cartridge. The beauty of the uses that it does not puncture those cartridges until they are ready to be used. In other words, it can sit the nightstand as long as you would like, without having to worry about it :-)
@@AlternateArmsSD 😂Just saw your side-by-side of the Byrna and the Salt Supply S2 and now I'm leaning to the Salt Supply! Your testing and reviews are too good!!
@@peterottes6900 Thanks Brother!! Yeah, I actually just started stocking salt supply as well. You really can’t beat them when you compare power for the cost.
Again, another fine video, but I just got the notification and you did this video 2 days ago. Anyway I still like my T4E TR-50 that I modified thanks to your upgrade video. OK... can (or did) you dye the LE so it looks "presentable"?
Thats a GREAT question. I can give you an opinion BUT I haven't had a TCR on the channel yet so it wouldn't be a fair comparison. Let me see what I can do!
Hi Jon, I have been watching your video's and enjoy all the news about less lethal guns. I ordered a Byrna LE Launcher which will be here soon. I also have a Salt Supply C02. I would like to practice with both guns. How many cartridges should I get for both of them for practice and which type of projectile would be good for both "devices".
Hey man! Either the byrna kinetics or the salt supply kinetics are great for both practice and self defense. I’d pick up a box of 12 cart and practice as much as possible.
Thanks for this review. I have been waiting for it. Of course my SD is my go to carry. I am thinking about getting the LE, but my holsters may not fit it. I know with the boost on it, it's hard to find a good holster.
It's been my experience that the same holsters that fit the SD will work with the LE but they will extend about an inch past the bottom. (Thats what you see on my holster)
Greetings! Thanks Brother! Yes they are. I've tested many manufacturers of C02 and have never found any that didn't work normally in the Byrna launchers.
Another great and informative video. I bought an EP for my sister since she showed some interest in LL markers and another for myself just to play around with. My sister is unable to practice flipping the safety on and off so I would rather get her a draw and pull the trigger type of setup. You are correct about the LE model. That thing was destroying targets that tolerated the SD model. I do not know why there is so much brouhaha about the Byrna markers. This must be one of those Ford Vs. Chevy type of disagreements I suppose.
Thanks for the vid! Helped me be informed 👍 Was all in on the LE until I found a coupon for the SD. Couldn’t justify $150 for an extra 50 fps. And I don’t like the bolster.
@CompleteTechnologySolutions def thank you for the review I like the fact byrna is a legit company and gives u that card incase u gotta defend yourself u can pull out the card and be like hey
I went to local gun show (09/07/24) & bought a Byrna LE for $440, the guy gave me extra CO2 cartridges & a bottle of 25 pepper rounds on top of what came with the kit..
No, in order to test these equally, I had to put them all on fire and pull the trigger which Pierce is the CO2 and fires the first round. If I had charged the other two prior to pulling the trigger, it would not have been a fair test.
I had to hit that sub button, I like how you explain everything and I can see and hear the honest in you, you should be a car salesman, LOL..well something like that...maybe a preacher too..I like that orange gun, bigger air cartridge
Thats Brother! Yeah, my wife would tend to agree ;) I do try to give every angle a person could wonder about. If youre going to spend your hard-earned money on one of these, you should have every detail first ;)
These here resemble a paintball pistol… sort of like the tippman tpx… I wonder and hopefully u can tell me, is a tpx considered non lethal just like this here?
@@AlternateArmsSD well I have a tpx and I know they shoot at 320fps some paintball fields as me to bring it down to 280fps for safety… I know they might not do great with such a heavy cal ball. But the legality of it being titled a paintball makes it hard to use for self defense… really interested in this here thou.
I feel for you folks in NYC Brother. It seems the criminals have more rights than the law-abiding citizens. Yeah, the Byrna is a great launcher for sure. The HDP50 and TR50 (Modded) are also fantastic options.
@@AlternateArmsSD you got that right. These far left lunatics bend over backwards for career criminals and illegal immigrants. Law abiding citizens have no rights here
Brother, there’s nothing I would like more. Grimburg has yet to send one for the show, but they have told me that they are going to. If you get a chance, jump over their page and request that they shoot one over for review..
Then only up side to the EP is no safety which never bothered me I'm used to drawing and just flipping it off on my SD thinking about the LE but waiting to see what's next you know there's always a next with all this kind of stuff one other thing what brand of co2 did you use on the LE test you got pretty good numbers lastly I still prefer my FSC or TCP problem with both Byrna and the Gavle is loading co2 and with the Gavle ammo and co2 I can get really high numbers with the FSC or TCP plus you get faster loading of ammo & co2 just have an extra mag or 2
I imagine the half speed on initial pull is purposeful. It's a non lethal launcher. The first is a warning, and conserves co2 first round is cs/ tear, the next 4 or so are kinetic.
No, it has to do with the fact that you’re puncturing and firing at the same time thereby not giving the CO2 time to charge up. If you pull the trigger on safe, then switch to fire, you’re getting a full power shot.
@@AlternateArmsSD I heard the same on another channel. I just meant that I think it's on purpose. I think the pierce thing serves a double purpose. But even if it's pure coincidence, it certainly serves the purpose of the gun well. If I want stopping power, I'll use a firearm. I just want to disorient
@@AharonNiziri that’s definitely a possibility. Those 68s to put out a heck of a punch at full power. I never forget on my initial testing of the LE when the pepper bowl, WiFi are just absolutely disintegrated on impact. No broken shell, no fragments anywhere, it was just gone :-)
Actually, I think it's a Traveling Carnival tactic. So.. Mr Lug McThug confronts you. You pull your LL airgun and warn Mr McThug. Then you give him that first shot. At 1/2 power. To which he laughs and says " Is that it ?? " and starts to approach. You - " No Mr McThug, that's actually NOT all I got " It's lime the Carnival games. " Hey, that looks easy ....."
Just out of curiosity, I called around to some of the pawn shops to see if they had one and they did I went down and picked it up it was the hd, walked out the door with it for $248 the whole kit, but the powder rounds were all missing, so it only had the kinetics which is fine by me it will be cheaper just to buy two sleeves of the powders then it is to buy a $400 one
Greets! Oh yeah. Also, there are many choices when it comes to ammo. If you need some, shoot me an email at jonreynoldscts@gmail.com. Remember, you want a potent combo of pava and OC. As far as the price, assuming its all in working order, that's a good deal.
@@AlternateArmsSD right on, I will probably do that, the kinetic grounds that it did come with though or black very hard and heavy, lol, I don't think I would want to get nailed by one of these
Hey, I have an email yet, I've been busy doing some other things but I just weighed one of these kinetic balls that I have and it is like 7. 9 8 grams, I'm guessing this thing has a steel ball Center in it, do you think that is too heavy of a ball for this that may be a lighter one would be a better option
Great review! but for the cost I would still go with a real weapon not comfortable with 6 shots not stopping the threat and needing to put another cartridge in this is great for some if I were to spend the money it would simply be for fun shooting nothing more
I understand, the major issue is there are several people who do not want to take somebody’s life, cannot own a firearm, or live in states where they have oppressive laws, and do not allow people to defend themselves. I assure you though, taking a hit from one of these is not like getting hit with a spitball or a snowball. There is a reason that police and military all around the planet use these. That being said, a very high-quality pepper ball is also a fantastic deterrent. I always mix in a mixture of kinetic and pepper rounds on any of the launchers I carry. Thanks so much for watching!
On the Byrna, if you charge the launcher on safe (AKA pull the trigger to puncture the C02), then put the launcher on fire, the first round comes out at full velocity. If you have the launcher on fire and pull the trigger the first time to puncture the C02 AND fire the first round, the first round comes out at around half velocity. (All subsequent rounds come out full speed)
It’s my pleasure brother. You can probably tell that I feel very deeply about these launchers and the subject in general. Also, this community is absolutely amazing.
New to all this. So with the LE, if the safety is on and you switch to fire that will puncture the cartridge, then the first trigger pull will be full velocity?
Greetings and welcome! If you have the launcher on safety and pull the trigger, you will puncture the CO2. Then, if you place it on fire, the first round will go out full velocity. If you leave the weapon on fire with an unpunctured CO2 cylinder and pull the trigger, the first round will go down range at about 50% velocity but all subsequent rounds will go out at full speed.

anyone know if you’re able to place the different offered ammos into a single magazine? Let’s say 2 tear gas ones, then the remainder kinetic projectiles, or even layering them?
I have A Byrna SD that looks just like the LE and even takes the 12 gram co2 cylinders so what givesi? only has 5 round mags but it looks just like the le.
Yes, the SD with the XL extension looks just like the LE. The original mags are 5 rounds but the new extended mags are 7 (and they are backward compatible) However, the LE packs more of a punch. I have a head to head up on them.

The Galve has an ugly design with that CO2 popping out like a medicine dropper. You actually need 2 hands to activate it which is a negative when situations get out of control quickly or when you're holding a cellphone to call the police. Plus, it's too powerful to be non-lethal which can be a liability headache.

How is it holding up?
Where do you find the HD I've only seen the LE and SD as an option. Any reason for that?
Greets! The HD has been discontinued (As has the EP) .. You can still find them but not from Byrna directly.
This is helpful! Was trying to figure out what the charged/on fire stuff meant!
@AlternateArmsSD also to be noted if you only pull the eps trigger to the first stage it'll only puncture the co2 and nor fire just like the sd/le will on safety
Maybe burna should make a cane launcher for the older folks
Well, Pavashot has a very nasty one shot launcher called the "Stick shot" .. They may be able to modify that :)

@@eugenegress5896 Anytime Brother!
I like the higher velocity of the LE
Yeah, that was a very pleasant surprise on the first shot :-)
Done that way on purpose...this was designed for LEOs who load the mags two solid then three pepper. Two solids up front for either stopping power or breaking windows. FPS then drop off for pepper which do best at 280 to 300 fps.
@@Steve-u5g That would actually make sense.
@@Steve-u5gthisnis true, I confirmed this at my gun store.

Weird question....can you take the end piece off the LE to make it shorter? I'm sure the extra barrel length is what gives it the extra velocity, but I need a lighter trigger pull AND a shorter barrel length. Do you know if the gun would function if I took the extension piece off the LE model?
It will work fine. You wont lose power, just shot count.
Is the LE worth the extra price compared to the SD? Looking for a light EDC. Thanks Jon😁
Greets, Yeah it is. The major advantage (aside from the use of the 12G c02 instead of the 8g) is a marked increase in power.
The LE is out of stock… for the SD, is there an extension clip or I just have to maneuver with the 5rounds?
Here you go! amzn.to/41OjzQy
Thank you!
I want the LE, but I am a bit confused about the first shot thing. I want max FPS on the first shot. Can you explain that again? Thanks
@@MultiSkyman1 absolutely. It’s actually a lot quicker than you think when you practice.

The first round you fired from the EP was an "error"????
Yeah, if I dont hit the "sweet spot" I get that. However, the second shot was 297 so the first would be just a bit over 300. It doesnt matter though, they have discontinued the EP :)
Maybe that first error shot was half speed?@@AlternateArmsSD
@@lewishodge4935 Perhaps. Thats always been my biggest complaint with the EP.
Oh no, please help. I looked at the reviews and they were bad, saying the Co2 leaks and it can't fire.
I haven't had any of those issues so far. I actually edc the HD.
Greetings! You will be around 20-22J after the upgrade. (Well worth it)
That SD is very consistent.
Funny you should say that… did you notice that is what I’m carrying? :)
Yeah, the LE is a real leap forward for them and I've heard something big is coming!@@Joreel
You answered my questions about the Byrna and have certainly reassured me that I am making the correct decision with the LE. A very nicely done job of comparing. I wonder, can the 12 gram CO2 cartridges that are available online be used with the LE?
Yes they can :)
Thanks for the vid! I have an EP. Any suggestions for best projectile to use?
You bet! I have the new Pavashot and Saltsupply/MACE rounds in stock for pepper rounds. For kinetic, the Grimburg Juls are brutal.
Really wish you got an accurate reading from the first shot EP. Really curious if the first shot is weaker since its the first puncture pull.
It is, but it’s not as extreme as the L E, or the HD. I have no idea how they did it, but it’s definitely noticeable.
Jon if you modify the spring on the Byrna LE to increase Speed? How much more speed will you get it to?

It’s could be a bit thick for the 511 but it would be close.
Thank you. Your presentation helped in making a good decision. God Bless.
Thanks Brother! I love my job :)
I will mention to Byrna Im buying an LE thanks to this video !
My pleasure man!! You’re going to love it!

What do you mean by "Charge it on safe"?
On the Byrna, if you charge the launcher on safe (AKA pull the trigger to puncture the C02), then put the launcher on fire, the first round comes out at full velocity. If you have the launcher on fire and pull the trigger the first time to puncture the C02 AND fire the first round, the first round comes out at around half velocity. (All subsequent rounds come out full speed)
I would love to see the internals of the SD/HD next to the internals of the LE and see where the difference is.
Greets! Yeah, a teardown is on my list of "to do's" :)
Shame Bryna don’t market thease in the uk as paintball/ skirmish markers. Thease would be great fun as a side arm for Skirmishing 😎
Oh OUCH.. I think you'd end up with a paint covered launcher ;)
@@AlternateArmsSD Maby 😂👍🏼
You really help me out alot thanks

Thank you so much for clearing that up! 😊
I went ahead and ordered the LE. Should receive today!
@@tomhb9479 Oh, you’re going to love it!

Thank you for your help sir
My pleasure Brother!
Hello question how can I get sights like you have on your SD for mines?
Greetings, my sights are stock but I accentuated them a bit with some glowing paint.
Amazing video thank you
Thanks Brother!
John, I can't find your store, or your email in order to purchase from you.
Here ya go! Jonreynoldscts@gmail.com
Hola. No tienes alguna modificacion del UMAREX HDR 50 ?
¡Saludos! Tengo muchos videos con el TR50 / HDR50 modificado y cualquier otro lanzador Umarex P2P.
Taking a much closer look.
LE may be a money grab.
I went with the SD...even though my eyes are still on the S2 (too large)
and the Grimburg Solstice (not out yet when this comment posted).
Small, reliable, affordable.
Well respected, I need the corolla of the lunchers.
Always ready to fire up.
The SD is the best they got so far...good enough.
The irony is, the SD with the extender for the 12g carts is almost the same size as the SS :)
@@AlternateArmsSD 🤣🤣🤣
I am learning so much.
Thank you for posting and being on top of the comments.
Much love, respect, and success for you and your channel 🙏🏼
@@AugustDavinDeepson My pleasure my friend!
Are there specific balls for each gun? Or are they interchangeable?
A majority of the .68 cal pepperballs will work with the Byrna launchers. (But they do have their own brand as well)
Quick reply,Thanks
@@tbone4529 My pleasure Brother!
anyone know if you’re able to place the different offered ammos into a single magazine? Let’s say 2 tear gas ones, then the remainder kinetic projectiles, or even layering them?
Hey man, yes, indeed. It’s called staggering, and I do it all the time. First round out is kinetic which is the warning shot.
@@AlternateArmsSD Thank you for clearing that up for me,I just bought my Byrna yesterday afternoon and I don't know much about them, They seem to be very we built and appear to be of very high quality.Your Video was very enlightening and informative, thank you!

Do the le come in black
They do indeed. In fact, and this is a little secret I have told anyone yet, but I’ve added to em to my website (with a preorder discount). Don’t tell anyone :)
I would like to see a video on the accuracy at an extended range.
Working on that :)
SABRE Pepper Projectile Launcher, Home Defense Pepper Projectile Launcher, Adjustable Fiber Optic Sights, Accurate Up to 60f. with Area Saturation Up to 175ft, Easy to Handle, 350 FPS Velocity Range
Im a huge fan of Sabre, Tippmann, and Salt Supply but their launchers are very large. These area tad easier to EDC.
The Grimberg Gavle is 34 Joules average out of the box, so it'll unfortunately eat the LE for lunch as the LE is 18 Joules average out of the box. They just dropped the price of the Gavle down to $499 which is great, but damn the basic accessories are hidiously expensive. There is a lot about the Gavle I like, but there are some things I really hate which make it so I'll never buy one as they are now.
Hey Brother! OK, Im going to put this as delicately as I can. (Im sure you will hear the frustration in my voice)..
I have HEARD about the 34J... I have seen videos about the 34J.. I have HEARD about the look and feel of the launcher... but............................
Up till this time.. I have yet to have one on the channel. I have had a ton of conversations with Grimburg and have been assured one is coming..... (This has been going since shotshow).
Until I see it myself, and test it live for you folks, I believe nothing. It seems like, and I may be way off base here, that I am not a "big enough fish" to warrant one to the channel. Perhaps that will change someday :)
Well I sent them a message on several of their videos asking them to Please send you one ASAP. Told them you do honest reviews and if you like a product you'll say that, if you don't then you'll tell us why. Hopefully they listen and send one because I really want to see you test one and I wanna see Skully explode 👀.
I wasn't trying to annoy you, I was just giving my opinion as I got to see one before I moved here to AZ at Camp Pendleton Marine Station.
@@Joreel Oh, you’re never annoying me brother! :) It’s been a tough road with Grimburg and I really don’t understand why.
The Galve has an ugly design with that CO2 popping out like a medicine dropper. You actually need 2 hands to activate it which is a negative when situations get out of control quickly or when you're holding a cellphone to call the police. Plus, it's too powerful to be non-lethal which can be a liability headache.
@@yummm8775 I would definitely agree with you on the design, but this is still a very young company. I suspect we’re going to see several revisions over the next couple of years. As far as the power, I honestly cannot tell you until I get one into test. I’m working on that.
