They can be either in the ones next to the boss or in one of the "island" next to the boss on the side of the boss... For example in avalon you will have the 8 points around the boss arena or in the level lower or higher close to the wall depending on which side is closest to the boss arena...

I noticed that for the optional bosses, the keys usually spawn near the point of interest. Or at least not to far away
yeah could be but hard to tell sometimes its still pretty random, I found keys way further from the point of interest.

I wish i can see my stats variation in the middle of the fight, instead only with the map open
And some way to pause too in online mode
maybe if you play as private with friend an option to pauze but hard to do with random players I guess
