Good video mate... Just for reference, in case you didn't know. Here in Australia your Pickup is called a Hilux and ran from 88 to 97 for that body type. The only difference being that it's right hand drive and also we got the option of diesel. So if your still looking at getting the 4x4 guards/fenders for better wheel clearance and perhaps lowering the front again, look for parts for Hilux, 4Runner or for the Japan version of the 4Runner called a SURF which had all the extras as standard. The after market parts are not expensive at all. I'm currently doing a 92 4x4 dual cab upgrade myself. I have 2 Dual cabs a 4Runner and a SURF. Upgrading the Dual Cab Interior plus all power options and a turbo diesel from the SURF that all bolt straight in. Making 2 trucks out of the 4 that I have, so I'll have a Hilux/Pickup turbo diesel dual cab and a SURF/4Runner with a 3.8EFI V6 petrol/gas conversion that goes like a bat out of hell :). If you do go for the 4x4 Guards/Fenders make sure you get the inner plastic liner and corner lights as well because the 2 wheel drive ones are too narrow. . Look for Hilux LN106 parts. That's the Australian 4x4 version of your model and parts are cheap... If you need any help sourcing the parts or a cross referencing, just let me know.... Cheers :)
I have a 93 that I am fixing up myself as well, just did an overhual on the motor, thing runs amazing for having over 140,000 miles on it body is as straight as yours is, gonna go for a different look though. great vids man really detailed explanations (helped tremendously!) keep em coming!!!
Just picked a bone stock 89 can’t wait to get a radio on her and start doing cool little mods, gonna do a full overhaul of the motor and interior this summer , want new seats and new carpet lol
i have a 86 i'm planning on getting it lower i will also put some crown victoria wheels. i was just using the truck for stuff that i have to do at home but after watching some trucks around i will definitely do some work on my.
I know you want to keep the daily cheap but I would seriously recommend sandblasting and powder coating those tims. the powder coat will help fill and nicks and scratches on the metal.
Thanks for posting! I’d like to put on a set of 50 series tires on “17’s or “16’s for a better ride on a ‘94 Pickup but wasn’t sure how they’d look. This video helps a lot!
OMG, those look phenomenal! Totally forgettable on a Crown Vic, but awesome on the truck! I love mesh wheels!!! The mesh part might look nice if it were painted white to match the truck?
No freakin kidding right!? I never would have thought either until I started researching the Toyota minis when I got my truck. I knew I had to find some! I might paint eventually, but for now I really like the silver.
I know this is an old post but I came across your video last week and I have a 91 PU that I just bought for commuting. Just curious on the offset of the crown vic rims you put on your truck. Those rims look beautiful on the truck.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Hi do you still have the pickup, I have the newer model to this and will get same lowering kit, did you like the street performance shocks, I got Works split rims for mine, been a long term project
I appreciate your time and effort. I purchased a finished 1987 with the drop drop kit already on it. I don't like the wheel sand tires, they stick out I want what you have. I just hit the curb and scratched the front pass side. would your set up work for me, I think yours looks great.
Just saw you put this up on Craigslist. I just sold my 83 on Wednesday haha lookin to snag a prelude or accord sedan next. Too bad we never got to cruise them!
Jon Widmer Your doing it just like we use to back in the day..it's nice to see. I like the wheels,I had a set of Mustang GT wheels on my first Yota, eventually put a 4-runner front end on it n went crazy with it. Once mini truckin gets in your blood it stays, lol!! Keep up the good work man.
Thanks man will do!! I didn't notice mini trucks much before getting this one, now I'm a huge fan. I love being a part of a different kind of "auto culture" than just my Hondas!
I never see them for sale either. I do however seen tons of people from Mexico towing these trucks home that have slight damage. I think they are popular in Mexico which makes me worry about them trying to jack mine!
Jon Widmer lol same especially when you get closer to the Mexican border. I'm sure you've seen that a lot in El Paso.im pretty sure they flip them for a good buck. Btw I went to the indoor outdoor swap meet off of the freeway there in El Paso wearing a fake border patrol green hat won't do that again LOL
I thought about it, but that requires more work polishing/cleaning them up every 6 months or so. I feel like I have this giant to-do list of shit I want to get done to all my cars and every little bit of time spent not having to do this helps. Lol
What lug nuts did you end up using on the crown vic wheels? If you have a link or anything for them would be nice. I have the lug nuts from the stock steel wheels but doesn't seem like it grips the crown vic wheels enough for me to drive on them. I want to run them but want the right lug nuts for the wheels.
Your Toyota Hilux ute looks good couldn't do that to my Hilux ute because Crown Vic wheels would be hard to come buy in Australia plus on my ute to be legal l have to run 195 x 14 lift truck tyres on my ute because l can carry up to 1500 kgs and l have an aluminium tray
Any muffler brands you'd recommend? A buddy of mine has told me Black Widow but I've never heard one in person. I also thought about a Greddy but not sure if the 22re will have the guts to push through it without sounds like garbage.
William C. McDonald I don't really know much about exhaust systems for this truck. I do however want mine to be as quiet as possible so I won't mess with it. I drive it daily and don't want to make it more uncomfortable with a louder exhaust.
those look sooo good :D, i was always confused when the crown vic had them, it looks nice but dosent really suit the crown vic much. But on mini trucks? defenetly. Or literaly any 80s and early 90s cars, it suits them well. But to each their own :)

Its nuts how people react both cars. Anyways...yeah man the truck is nice. Those trucks are hard to fine used right now. As soon as they are listed for sale people are all over them. Oh dude last week i ran into a 1987 Toyota extended cab SR5 Turbo 4x4. The miles on it were 27,544. Only down side it was an automatic. It wasnt for sale. But if the owner would have came out i would have offered him $5,000 on the spot. They didnt make very many turbo models either.
I like the 87 body style a lot too! They look boxier which I prefer! Your stories about your car are funny! It's amazing how people don't pay attention sometimes. Some many people are non-specific in life and it translates into everything. I notice every damn detail and it annoys me every now and then.
nice truck, i got the same lowering kit waiting to go on mine, do you have any rub issues with the 50 side walls up front? im thinking about goin 55 all around on mine

Thanks a bunch. I fell in love with the look. I never knew Crown Vics came with BBS rims and they aren't as expensive. Super sick. Can't wait to see more on the truck.
Kudos to your wheel selection my friend. I enjoy how detail you are with your videos. How does she ride with your tire size? Do you have any rubbing either over a slight or hard bump? What type of lug nuts you use? Again, nice work on your videos homie.
No issues at all, anywhere. The tire size isn't as desirable as it could've been. I had room to go larger and wish I would have. S bigger tire would've made the ride quality a lot better. These trucks are already not that comfy, so it definitely could've helped.
I see bro. Honestly, I'm getting myself the same exact set of wheels plus tires. I take advice from others very serious and you sir have some good advice. I know you have the complete Belltech suspension but what height are you running both front and rear? Did you ever get the spacer for your rears like you wanted?

I know i'm a couple years late but was it a straight fit with the crown vic rims on the pickup? I have one i'm building and would like mesh rims
Yes
@@GarageBuiltHondas I found some 16x7 6mm offset for my set up. Should bolt right on.
What size tires
Where did you get them from? I want to put some on my Toyota tacoma
Junk yard
Hella clean
Thanks so much!
By any chance do crown vic rims fit on 1986 Toyota Pickup?
+John Giron what's the 86 bolt pattern?
Garage Built Hondas not sure but I googled it and it says there m: 5 x 114.3 and s: 5 x 4.5 thank you for helping me out
+John Giron They will fit. That's the same bolt pattern.
Garage Built Hondas thank you so much!
+John Giron 👍
Cool little truck👍
Thanks!
was just thinkn about these for my 2002 tacoma! looks good!
Do it! I've been searching for a long time. It was never a priority and ended up getting lucky one random day.
lowering specs man this truck is awesome simple and clean
Thanks Alex!! I'm using the Belltech SP444 kit and a ball joint flip. This video I made shows the product/install of it all. ua-cam.com/video/7dVI2Wkgd6Q/v-deo.html
Truck is looking real good man! If you happen to do anything else to it definitely make a video.
I definitely will!! And thanks!!
I love it ❣️
I'm loving the stance. Would like to know what the offset is. Im trying to put some on a Previa but Im not sure if they will fit.
Diosvencedor9 I'll do some more digging around on the net, I'll also measure them. I'll let you know what I find.
Thanks a bunch. I fell in love with the look. I never knew Crown Vics came with BBS rims and they aren't as expensive. Super sick. Can't wait to see more on the truck.
so I bought some today, 15" though. Got a pretty good deal. Hopefully they fit
I never did. Just left it alone and drove it daily.
What kind of rims are the bolt flipped ones ?
I believe American Racing
Do you think a 15x8 -19 will fit with a 205-55/15?
I do. It'll probably stick out a bit though.
