    We see helicopters all the time in the sky but the cockpit view is simply awesome 👌🚁🚁

    Thank you for this lovely video, the R66 must feel so much more nimble and responsive than the R44 not only due to the turbine being more powerful, but also because it is so much lighter than the antiquated boat anchor and its associated weighty necessary parts found in the R44.
    That cockpit looks a very nice place to be with the comprehensive instrument fit, subscribed.

      I'm not sure about your "much more nimble" comment. The cruise speed of this R-66, namely between 80 and 90 kts, was no different than the cruise speed at which I fly in an R-44.

    Same sound I've heard during onboard in AW189....15 passengers and 2 pilots going offshore. With female pilot on the right, me staring on the instrument panel while buckled upon next row seat 🙂

    Just wow… this is the first time I have ever seen a real helicopter fly from the POV of the pilot, it’s incredible!
    Not sure if this will be seen but just in case and sorry if it is a stupid question. I play a lot of battlefield on my Xbox and have always wondered if real helicopters sway left and right as much as they do in these games. You can say a bit of swinging in this video but nothing like the exaggerated stuff you see in media. Was this just a more relaxed flight or can helicopters really almost turn sideways without crashing?

    • @ABHelicopters
      @ABHelicopters  Рік тому +1

      Glad you found it interesting ! and no silly questions - yes a helicopter is very manoeuvrable, and you can turn left and right in the hover very quickly !

    • @russella7263

      The pilot flew IFR (meaning I Follow Roads). He took off from Whatley Manor, flew initially to the north west and then followed a prominent line feature (visible out the left window initially) all the way to Kemble. That line feature appears to be an old Roman road which is now a mixture of road and footpaths. Its quite easy to spot on a map or Google Earth.

    I'm curious, before lift off in the bottom right corner it shows 241 then, 258 at one point before moving, what is that? I thought it showed how high your flying?

    • @ABHelicopters
      @ABHelicopters  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Bubba- thanks for the comment - just looked at it - very strange - as the helicopter is certainly not moving - it might be the camera just calibrating it’s altitude after it has been turned on!

      So I checked other videos to see if it happens there - apparently not.
      I thought it might be in case the engine start affected the pressure, and thus the altitude reading- but it seems to take the altitude from the GPS - not barometrically

      @@ABHelicopters ohok, I rode once in a helicopter very small one, I can't tell you any specifics about it, my cousin owned it and flew to Tennessee for a family reunion from Denver, about 15 years ago, we went up maybe 20 minutes , I don't think much longer than that, and I remember getting nauseaous some, but the view was unbelievable, I was instantly in love with it. I'd buy my own if possible.
