I Allen, I hope that you found the fault and that it’s not an intermittent electrical fault that can be a nightmare to find when it’s working ok. Regards, Brian 👍👏🏴👍👏🏴
Blu-ray player that thinks it's a Cybertruck! I mean, just look at the shape of that thing 🤣 Hmm, there is something strangely satisfying about dismantling and cleaning a remote control and then reassembling it, all clean and working like new.
A win , win situation, free gloves and a now working player. The "pattern" on the front is probaly due to the protective film never been removed from new. Try lifting one corner and it will be perfect behind the film.
That romote needs a bloody good clean. I'm amazed how many people just don't bother to clean their entertainment systems. The levels of dust and muck adds significanly to the problem, plus DVD and Blu-Ray players tray's should always be maintained and cleaned. The amount of dust that effects the laser component inside can cause issues with disc performance.
If you want cheap stuff, I'm sure the manager of the charity shop would love to sell you all the TVs I fail due to backlights for a tenner. But Preston is a long way from Cornwall. Got two 4K LGs from 2019 awaiting me next week. Wish me luck.
The front panel looks like the protective blue film has never been removed, and has started to break down.
Exactly😊
just what i thought but by now it will have damaged surface underneath!

Agreed!
The blue film deterioration may be affecting the buttons when you push them. The material may be traveling inside the switches
Peel it off ... Peel it off ... Peel it off :)

Maybe just the clean did the trick well done Allen nice job 😊
Could them marks be from the customer not removing the thin plastic film that you sometimes get on new stuff.
Contact cleaner is £6 - £8 and does the same job just as effectively as the other brand you mentioned.
I have exact same one only use it once a year to watch Christmas vacation. For some reason I can never stream that movie at Christmas.
I knew a man that wrapped his remotes in cling film to keep them clean: very easy just to replace the film as necessary.
If the remote uses infrared (like most remotes), then you should be able to see the signal by watching the IR photocell in your smartphone camera.
Nice looks like it has speakers and Bluetooth my Samsung one don't have BT.
Vacuum Fluorescent Displays (VFD) are very lovely!
There's no "E" in Blu-ray.
Finally gets DVD out .. German por No of the 1930s - "Bertha does Berlin" LOL .Dirt and smut will cause all sorts of problems. :D X
I hope that owner supplies free gloves and masks with everything they send in for repair! Disgusting.
The most important thing is what was the bloody movie that was stuck ...😂
Game of Thrones

Deoxit? Pfft. Never had the need to use anything 'better' than good old British Servisol.
With modern kit servisol and the wrong type of deoxit can destroy the plastics
Sony have announced that they will stop making blank blu-ray discs from February 2025, after 18 years.
'RECORDABLE' discs!
@@NTSCuser That is not clear in the way many media outlets have reported the announcement.
Just buy them from one of the other manufacturers.
Slightly off on the world population there.
