Love, Love, Love listening to Professor Norman Finklestein! His devotion to his principles, Justice for those who are being bullies .... each of these principles make him a man out of my own heart! The fact that he's not only done his homework, but his capacity for recalling exactly where to find the references to support his references and his assertions are also extremely attractive to me. He's my pin-up ...even if I'm his own age!

This video gives excellent insight on how some Gaza operations came about. I will definitely pick up a copy of the book. I am also interested in knowing what Norman would prescribe next for future state leadership of USA and Israel to improve on the Israel-Palestine problem.

Because Israel refuses to. Because it'll be held to the standards that the rest of the world demands, and Israel flatly refuses to do that. Instead of law, they always push with the "historical claim" (of which they have none) and a "religious claim". They have no actual legitimate claim to anything beyond the pre '67 borders.
Damn! Acting "too peacefully"? This suggests the Palestinians and Lebanese should double down on peacefulness, since the more that inflames the hawks in Israel the wider the international attention will be and the greater the condemnation of the military aggressors in Israel and the USA, and thus the better the hope for eventual peace. The truth should eventually win out I'd say. The worst thing Gazan's and Lebanese can do is retaliate. But they'd be within all rights to defend themselves while staying open to peace and reasonable relations despite the Israeli and US sponsored atrocities.

I used to say, Look out Israel; in a few decades, when the Saudi oil runs out, so will American love and support of Israel. But now I say, look out, electric cars and renewables are going to make America's proxy obsolete long before the oil runs out. Who can doubt it?
I used to say Israel should try to be a good neighbor and a leader in the Mideast - for its own sake, and for its own long term survival - now I say it's too late to try. I haven't got any good advice for them now.
