Oh well i guess i now know why the water didn't really get any carbon in there. Just didn't press the button for long enough, basically the only thing i was confused on

Is the machine sometimes difficult to open? Somebody gave me the machine used and I can’t open it from the back. Also, I can’t tell why the inside is sort of green. Could they have used a green flavoring? It doesn’t look like mold.

You press the button in the back and wiggle the top part out, use a little force if it's not coming out.

I have a sodastream Genesis and when I carbonate it does not make that bzzz sound is there a fix for that?

same here... i basically just did 3-5 seconds at a time, took it off, and tasted it. if it wasn’t fizzy enough, i’d put it back on, and do 3-5 more seconds. i just did that until i liked the fizz! and then, i put the flavour in, and enjoy

You don’t actually want it to get to that point, as that sound is excess CO2 venting into the air instead of into your water. Like a pressure cooker venting steam when the pressure gets too high.
It’s much better (and cheaper) to give 2 or 3 bursts of about 2 seconds. As @short foenix said, test it and give it another short burst if necessary.
