I have a 07' Electra Glide Police model with 83,000 miles on it, 103" with a six speed. Never misses a beat. One of the most reliable, vehicles I've ever had.
I have 2008 Electra Glide Classic and love it, and not a problem with it. 6 speed, electronic cruise, ABS, I put true duals with Vance & Hines mufflers and stage 1, and it's perfect for me. Also always run good synthetic oil in it! Glad to hear about yours, I have heard people with over 100k and no problems. Cheers!
Great info. I bought a 2007 SG 3 weeks ago. My 1st Harley. The shaking while idle was a little weird for me at first but I guess that’s how Harleys supposed to be. I love it. Someone told me to put a little lock tight on the battery post. Would love any input from you veteran Harley riders.
I've got an '08 Ultra Classic which in essence is the same bike with a top box added. Mine is an ABS version. I concur with everything you've said. Great great bike. Everything I need, nothing I don't.
Love your review. I am stuck between trying to get a 2007/08 or getting the newer frame (2009). Watching your video gives me pause as I won't be riding all the time but often. I believe I cannot go wrong with either one. Thank you because, with all the miles you are putting on them, I believe your review is down to earth and real.
Thanks K M I appreciate the feedback. I sometimes regret not getting the 09 and the newer frame. But she has been so good to me I really can't complain.
I have an 08 too. Same color. 30k miles.I put a 21" wheel on, Progressive 13" rear shocks, stage 2. Cam, 2 into 1 Pro Pipe, power vision tune. I did the chain tensioner too. Great bike. Its got enough power for me. Gotta have the 6 speed for sure if u are doing any hwy travel. Only thing i regret is i went to a heavy duty front engine mount cuz mine was shot. Its way too stiff now. Whole fairing shakes. Going back to OWM.
So i have a 2014 Streetglide Firefighter Shrine 103 high output . 44,000 hopefully many more to come. I love this bike , done up the way i want and will keep this bike God willing it will stay reliable. 2014 was the project Rushmore with a lot of upgrades. Nothing wrong with the previous models. The batwing is not only the iconic look but has the better weather protection.
Nice review man! I'm looking at a 2008, same color as yours with 45,000 miles. I've been a little leery of the mileage but this video puts my mind to ease.
Great review, thanks for posting. I really like the Street Glide model and am looking at the new ST model. Some comment about wind buffeting and their helmet being tossed around a little bit but perhaps your new windshield took care of it.
I'm hoping to be picking that exact bike in a few days. 08 SG and the same color even. This has 10" apes, which I'll probably change at some point depending on how my shoulder holds up.
Hello Bill, I am looking into getting my first Harley. I am looking at a 2007 SG with 18k for $9,900. I also live in NJ and would love to pick your brain. I currently have a 2006 Vulcan 900 classic and love riding it but after a year it is starting to feel a little small. Hit me up, I would love to talk to someone who know what they are talking about when it comes to these bike. Thanks. Joe
@@71455olds I am in Whippany. The guy who has it for sale is on vacation until Saturday, so I cant get any info on the bike until then. Researching as much as I can, but I was wondering if the 2007 was a good model year for these - without any major issues. And if $9,900 was a good price for the year and the 18k miles.
Just this past summer I traded in my 2003 Heritage for this same year (2008) SG. Heritage had 34,000 miles on it the SC has 62,000 miles on it and i wouldn't trade back for nothing. I know the previous owner did some mods on it as it has a screaming eagle duel exhaust and seems to have way more power than it OEM engine should have but I can not get any info through Harley or the dealer as to contacting the previous owner. None the less I love this color and the ride. If I were to even upgrade it would be to a newer SG. That sunglow crimson red is what grabbed my wifes attention.. We were in NC for a week riding around Maggie Valley and found mine at Rocky Top Harley Davidson. The ride back to VA was awesome! I would not get an ultra myself, love the street glide look and ride
08 ultra classic, 89k throttle by wire has failed twice. Wheel bearings, transmission, clutch cable, front and rear brake light switches, other minor failures. So reliable not so much.
Good God man! Do not ride this thing again until you have the camchest rebuilt. I guarantee the cam chain tensioners are ready to let go. Replace with all billet and new oil pump. You are riding on borrowed time. Twin cam models WILL implode if you don’t replace these parts!!!
I used to say I’d never buy a Harley. I know now that people who talk shit about these bikes never road one, they can’t afford one, or they bought the cheapest one they could (and it was cheap because it’s riddled with issues)

Thx 4 the review. I’ve already bought one from Ontario, Canada. Can’t wait to check it out;)
I felt the same exact way , and a month ago I bought my first Harley , and Ultra Limited and I love it

I've had an 08 and have ridden a 10. Not much difference. In 08 they went 6 speed cruise drive and honestly this is a bigger deal than the newer frame
i love your real deal review. good job
Just got a 2008 SG today with 25k on it, thank you for the review ride safe
Can't decide between street or Road glide BUT I am keeping my Night train to run around town . Great review .. worked off 15E for ten years. Ride on
I live my Night train but put about 4 times the miles on the Street glide

My heritage has 21k no problems at all just fun. Good to know l have another 60k to go.
Have a nice safe season 23
That’s awesome man! Knowing my luck I would never get no where near that mileage lol

@seanwicks what are they charging? I’m looking at one with 50k making sure I’m not getting screwed
40,000 mi is nothing for these Good luck I hope you love it as much as I love mine
I have a 06 88 twin cam...super reliable motors. Great bikes!
I just bought an 06 with 9500 miles. Have been hearing about cam chain tensioners going bad.
@@joebernal8106 yes if that happens your motor will be destroyed. Some go at 50k some go at 5k upgrade to hydraulic or gear drive.
Minus that cam chain tensioner.
I have a 2006 SG. I like your luggage rack. Is it aftermarket? Where can I get the same one?
Great review, thanks for posting. I really like the Street Glide model and am looking at the new ST model. Some comment about wind buffeting and their helmet being tossed around a little bit but perhaps your new windshield took care of it.
Thanks for the reply. I get some buffeting but its not bad
Windshield, bars, seat are something I have to setup for myself. No way HD can suit everyone in one package.
I have the same bike in blue with 20000 miles. Very reliable. Where did you get the digital battery voltage guage?
I’m in Vermont my riding season is shorter lol I just bought an 04 EG with higher mileage but it runs good
