I am a Millennial, I am 33 years old. I have held a full time job since I was 16 years old, I've been employed at the same company now for 15 years, I work 50-70 hours a week every week. I've started my own family, I've been married for 13 years, I've owned my own home for 11 years, our son is 8 years old, healthy, smart and honest. I just bought a brand new 2019 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited 4 weeks ago. My point is not brag, my point is that we were all not raised to be lazy, we do not all fall in that mindset that many have of the millennial generation. And don't forget, it was our parents who raised us to be who we are today.
I'm 29 and ride a 2003 Ultra Classic 100th anniversary edition, pearl white, got 54000 miles on the clock and running like a beauty. Greetings from South Africa.
46 with a Street Glide. That is a nice medium for my taste. But nice UC anyway. Any true biker knows that if it has 2 wheels and an engine, then it will work. 👍
I'm 37 and I bought my first and only bike last year a 1997 honda ahadow spirit 1100 it has been awsome I have put 10,000 miles on it paid $2,000 had 19,000 miles on it and all the upgrades I put good tires on it a mustang seat and taller sissy bar Best bigginer bike ever
@@GrzegorzDurda Got rid of it unfortunately it became very unreliable. I now ride an Indian Chieftian and an FTR rally as my daily 60 mile commuter. Cheers
I wouldn't know the difference between an Electra Glide, Road King, Ultra Classic, Tour Glide, Wide Glide etc. I know enough to know that there are many models, a few different engine types and sizes, traditional twin shock or soft tail and a bunch over other models like Dyna, Night Train etc. but as near as i can tell it's mainly different combinations of parts. Hell, i get confused when Moto Guzzi has 4 different variations of their California Special in one year. All i know is that my Cali Stone is the strippo bargain basement special.
I’m 27 and just bought my first Harley. 2014 ultra classic limited with 26k miles. I’ve already put 1k miles on it and wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Not sure what millennials you are referring to but myself as well as all my friends(mids 30s i guess we are millenials) and not ONE of us would ever buy a Harley and NO we dont all ride sport bikes. We are all just smart enough to know there are soooooo many better bikes out there for less money.
SPNFENDER I'm 34 and on my 4th Harley. I owned a 2014 Kawi Concourse 14 and didn't care for the Sport bike part of it. HD is for me. No sport bike will ever make me feel any different.
You got that right. The millennials are NOT buying these bikes. Infact, Harley is going down hill faster because of the Millennials. People are smarter than that and are spending their money on a better deal and better reliability.
My friends ride Harleys and are constantly complaining about things that go wrong and the prices the dealer gets for parts and labor. I also do some repairs on some of them and know first hand what parts cost, and just try to save them on the labor. I'm just saying there are a lot of bikes out there that are more affordable and reliable than a Harley, plain and simple.
Painter D prices I agree with. Parts and labor is typical of any dealer. If you cant fix your own bike with draining your wallet then you probably shouldn't own a HD. I'm still waiting for specifics on what part of my HD I will be experiencing problems with.
I ride a roadking. I've tried the dressers and the front fairing just isn't for me. But they are nice nun the less . To each their own just get out and ride.
Really cool bike. Except for all the skulls. I bought a beautiful 2006 Sportster 1200 Low, and it had the same thing. Covered up in those damn Willie G. skulls. It cost me almost $300 in parts to get rid of all of them. Not all Harley riders are into the skulls and death thing. I would actually like to have an XR1200, but they are few and far between and very expensive. To have that many miles on it, that bike must have had a few cam chain/tensioner replacements.
Keep your sportbike when you want an adrenaline rush, your dirt bike/dualsport when you want adventure, and you ultra when want to relax in comfort and your gf will appreciate that couch on the back. No one bike fits all needs.
I'm 36 and I love my 2012 ultra limited. Has only 22,300 miles on it. Most comfortable bike I've ridden. Nothing like just cruising and still have the power to get up and go.
another cool thing about older Harley Davidson motorcycles, is a 3.5 gallon gas tank, you can go over a hundred and forty miles on, then stop for fuel & be comfortable, other bikes beat me up
I love a cruiser always have. And I won't need a shoulder reconstruction from the pressure on my shoulders riding a sport bike. So uncomfortable sport bikes. And what's with the power ranger matching leathers and helmets??? Cruisers are awesome!!!! Fast is is not the speed limit or a pine box.
cant ride them long enough. its a cruiser life for me. thats why I have an Indian Chief Darkhorse. thanks the advise but I'm fine at riding and controlling a cruise.
brakes940 if you can ride a sport bike all day without pain, then you’re probably younger, in great shape, and have no major ailments. Good for you. Some of us are getting older and are slightly worse for the wear. If I rode a sport bike for 3 hours I’d be staying in bed past noon the next day. Hope you never get a bad back, man. But thankfully, comfy bikes are here if you ever need ‘em later in life. Until then, have fun!
OnPointFirearms absolutely man. I'm 49 and played many years of rugby in Australia at a semi professional level I'm 5"7 and 235lbs now two torn rotator cuffs and other wrist elbow and shoulder injuries. 20yrs ago the sport bikes were still not a an option for myself. And when I have they're uncomfortable without the injuries. The high casualty rates and incident rates are with sport bike riders. Stats don't lie. Neglecte for speed cause significant issues and unfortunately death. Bless those who have lost their lives doing what they love but safety on roads are always a priority. If you wish to test yourself use a track.
OnPointFirearms that's why after a year I gave up on the 2014 Kawasaki Concourse 14 I had. Very uncomfortable positioning for me. Even with an aftermarket seat and pull back bars.
I wouldn't mind a nice Harley. But FYI if you can rebuild motors anything with 30k into it can be fast. For maybe 4k full build I could take a single cam Honda and make 500whp+.
Ultra classic? Nah, got me an Ultra Limited cause I must be old, hahaha! Well it sits in my garage next to my dirt bike and my old Yamaha Royal Star, I never cared about brands it’s all about what fits you and what makes you happy
Sean, just by looking at the gauges (on the right), I can see that this Twin Cam 88 has had the cam chain tensioner problem solved. Yep, the oil pressure is up at 30 psi or so at idle and 65 psi at 40 mph, that tells me the oil pump has been upgraded along with the cam plate to hydraulic tensioners!! It probably has adjustable push rods and I bet it has had the lifters replaced at about 40,000 miles or so. Nice bike, send it to me for my birthday, I don't have 7 bikes in the garage, only 4 and a Road King CVO 103 cu in and a Softail Heritage Springer 80 cu EVO and a Triumph Thunderbird 1600 ABS and they don't count. I will replace my Goldwing with this one if you send it for my birthday... :-) Oh you forgot something else us old guys have figured out. I am old and on Social Security. California does NOT tax Social Security.... I figure that is worth something!
I own an 07 ultra classic and an 08 softail chopper... I always feel like I'm riding a grandpa's bike when on the ultra classic... but I recently rode my chopper from Houston to Austin.... and, let me tell ya, I had a lot more appreciation for the ultra... I'm 37. For comfort, you can't go wrong with the classic, plus the wife can b comfy too... but, when I wanna get after it, and get looks, I take the chopper solo.... either way, I'm riding.... no cages!!!
I'm 21, and I have a 105th anniversary Ultra Classic. It's stripped down to look like a street glide, and stage 1. Yet, I still get made fun of for having a dad bike. But, I love her.
I used to ride a cbr600rr then is switch to a Harley nighterter I love being able to take in the scenery now. And I use it for a lot of things now like quick gas stations runs and picking up lil bro 😎
I recently bought an 08 Ultra so I can ride with me new SO. I like it in spite that it it is not quick. I just sold my 750 Katana. I still have my 03 F650 GS, 99 VFR750C Magna, 79 CB400T and a 75 GT380 triple. I will get another fast bike soon. Is my Ultra my favorite to ride? No. I use it for two-up and will commute on it (I ride 55 miles each way to work, mainly on interstates). I like the Ultra for what it is, a nice comfortable two-up motorcycle. Does it stir anything in my soul? Not really.
I agree....with the edition of my '05 Electra Glide (1550, stage 1, screaming eagle 2 into 1) I'm at 6 bikes. The '02 RC51, 96 YZF 750, 94 GSXR1000, 90 GSXR750 & 89 GSXR1100 (mikuni flatslides, 93 swimgarm) all fall into their own specific roles. Most tool kits have a couple phillips and a couple flat screwdrivers....most mechanics have screwdrivers filling at least one entire toolbox drawer 😉.... multiple bikes keep mileages down & values up as well 😁
My dad has an Ultra Classic and a Heritage. Both bikes ride great, they both have the 88Cid engine, both have a 5 speed, but the Heritage is about 200 or so lbs less. Both have comfortable seats, the Ultra has a nice back rest that works well on long trips. In the end they both have good and not so good aspects. I prefer riding the Heritage when he lets me ride one of his. I now own a Dyna Wide Glide and it feels a lot like the Heritage. I prefer a more traditional type bike over a large touring bike.
I waited 62 years to get my Ultra classic.. Better late than never. I LOVE it.. Have had over 30 different motorcycles in my life. This is one of the most fun bikes I've ever owned. Outside of dropping it at stop signs periodically (LOL) I haven't had a spot of trouble with it.. 2008 Ultra Classic. So comfortable two up. It really does limit your speed compared to a sport bike. At 80 mph you really KNOW you're going fast LOL! My son has a beautiful Panigale that is a work of art. Compared to his, this is chiseled out of granite.. But it's still pretty sexy when you see it go down the road....
I bought a Dyna, simply because it ticked all my boxes. I started on a sport bike (albeit, a Harley - Buell XB-9), and also have a Yamaha UJM, but I wanted a bigger cruiser that still handled decently and was air cooled. So, that led me to a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird, and a 2009 Harley Fat Bob. On paper, they're nearly identical. Similar sized engines, similar wheelbase, trail, weight, etc. For all intents and purposes, they are the same bike, painted with a different brush. These two were even the same price, more or less. What got me to the Harley over the (probably superior) triumph is that you can buy Harley parts literally everywhere, whereas the nearest Triumph dealer is an hour away, and everything else would need to be ordered online. And before you start talking Asian bikes, I rode a couple, and they felt plasticky and cheap. There's a reason they're half the price of the two I was looking at... All that said, I wouldn't ever buy a 1st generation Twin-Cam Harley. Never know when they're going to grenade their spring tensioned chain tensioners and lunch the motor.
If you think the hd is the way to go but still love your sport bikes. Try a goldwing esp the 1800 series. Comfy and still fun in the corners, any one that has been to places like the tail will vouch. The two Maine bikes that will pass you are sport bikes and goldwing!
I like watching these for the NE country side and building styles. Lived in the Ohio valley until 9/11. Have not been back since. Texas just does not have the same feel.
Harley Davidson has it right. It's the most sexyiest bike created. I ride a classic 83 Goldwing 1100cc. I bought it for $1,200 dollars. I love my bike and have made lots of runs with other bikers on Harleys as well as other types of bikes. The Goldwing does it for me. The beauty of this bike your showing off is gorgeous. There's nothing compared to the patient of a twin V motor the styling the rumble the power of a Harley. They are priced at least in my opinion you get what you pay for. For now I'm restoring my Goldwing. Love your videos. Prayer as well as scripture readings are awesome. Keep it up my brother. All be safe peace out.
NVMBRNRG 999 Feel the same way, but maybe not wait that long.ha Im 27, with a street bob with 14" apes. I was deciding between a street glide, and a street bob, and went with the street bob because im getting older not younger haha. I can get larger cruiser down the road. You cant "upgrade" to a less comfortable bike!
When you buy a Harley Davidson you’re buying into a lifestyle. When you buy a rice burner you are buying cheap transportation. I think most millennial‘s just simply can’t afford a Harley Davidson therefore make excuses for owning rice burners. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Im 33, i ride an FXDF and about twice a week i feel like i should also have a tourer. All my brothers have these bad boys and they love them. Theybget better gas mileage than me, get to bring things along with them, abd their bike doesnt weigh much more and isnt any slower than mine.
I own a 2017 Ultra Limited and love it. We looked at other bikes, but kept coming back to the Harley. The 2018 gold wing is very intriguing, but I’m a little disappointed with the reduced storage space. I find myself being able to travel insane distances while being very comfortable. The new Milwaukee 8 has been everything it was promised to be. All of this said, we will probably get a smaller bike scooting to from work. If you think that 2005 is comfortable and runs well, ride one of the new Ultras with the new suspension and geometry.
Mad facts im 20 and I'm gonna trade in my dyna street Bob for one, or a street glide, I can get a sportbike for speed and handling, and I'll get a HD for daily riding and enjoyment
I’m 36 and definitely ready for a Ultra. I wouldn’t be caught dead on a fairing bike just a few years ago. After riding a ultra last week I have totally changed my mind. Plus I would rather have the ultra and strip it down for street glide look and have the tour pack for trips. Everyone wants a street glide but I like the ultra triple lights and the lowers . So my next bike is definitely a ultra!
I agree, I have an ultra now and I wish I had ADDED it to my group of motorcycles. It shouldn’t replace any if your bikes but is a good addition. 1st summer I had it, I went halfway across the country and went camping, would not have wanted to do that on any other bike. But I don’t use it to commute to work or zip around town.

Millennials ride ultra classics because that’s what there dads let them borrow.

Where dads?
Millenials dont have dads. They all ran out on them.
Millennials don't subscribe to traditional dad/mom roles. Mom and dad's are non binary, non toxic, parent fluid, vegans.
The more comfortable the bike is the more often you ride it. That's why lots of these Ultras have high miles.
I’m 26. Just learned how to ride and started with a Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 800. I love it to death. It’s very relaxing to ride it.
Youre 29 now still enjoying it?
@@GrzegorzDurda Got rid of it unfortunately it became very unreliable. I now ride an Indian Chieftian and an FTR rally as my daily 60 mile commuter. Cheers
@@GetsomeUSMC843 Awesome! Great bike pick. Im on a Honda vtx 1800.
I'm 28 and love rocking my ultra limited! Rides in comfort and style.
i have a 99 ultra and it just turned the speedo over to 0 miles! and it runs great!!
+Laurence Coots are you serious ?
Laurence Coots - that’s awesome
I’m 27 and just bought my first Harley. 2014 ultra classic limited with 26k miles. I’ve already put 1k miles on it and wouldn’t trade it for the world!
28 and love the Electra Glide. Bought my 1990 Sporty back, and buying an 06 Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Painter D what reliability problems are you referring to exactly?
Same here. Road King looks nice with no faring or windshield downtown on a summer night!
NO! We all have to love the STREET GLidE !!!! lol
jay outside EXACTLY
I love my 2005 Ultra, upgraded to 1550 with 6 speed gearbox and only 33,000 on the clock
Getting my brother's 2003 VTX with 7000 miles on it ! Only 4 grand and it doesn't have a scratch on it. Keep the faith, and I enjoy the vids ! PEACE
I ride an HD also and stay away from the skulls!
Im 28 went from a fat bob to an ultra limited and no regrets!! Beautiful bikes no grandpa here
I'm 29, and ride a '11 Road King. Touring bikes are where it's at.
I just got a 05 ultra classic 58k love it should I get cam tensioner checked herd lots problems on this yr
I have both lol 2016 yamaha r1, 2018 ktm 350, 98 electra glide, and a 1970 xlch I’m in the process of rebuilding. Garage is looking nice🤘🏻
29 almost 30 with a 2009 Ultra Classic i choose cruise and comfort over 120+mph bikes.
Have the same bike, agree 100%..
30 y/o and riding a '13 ultra limited low. I'm normally a street glide guy but I wouldn't change a thing.
another cool thing about older Harley Davidson motorcycles, is a 3.5 gallon gas tank, you can go over a hundred and forty miles on, then stop for fuel & be comfortable, other bikes beat me up
I love a cruiser always have. And I won't need a shoulder reconstruction from the pressure on my shoulders riding a sport bike. So uncomfortable sport bikes. And what's with the power ranger matching leathers and helmets???
Cruisers are awesome!!!! Fast is is not the speed limit or a pine box.
scott rubie what sport bike you riding?
I can ride all day and have no shoulder or wrist pain. Learn how to properly sit and control the bike.
cant ride them long enough. its a cruiser life for me. thats why I have an Indian Chief Darkhorse. thanks the advise but I'm fine at riding and controlling a cruise.
brakes940 if you can ride a sport bike all day without pain, then you’re probably younger, in great shape, and have no major ailments.
Forgot to mention that mostly this type of bike were kept in garage and have perfect service history because the previous owner could afford it.
I wouldn't mind a nice Harley. But FYI if you can rebuild motors anything with 30k into it can be fast. For maybe 4k full build I could take a single cam Honda and make 500whp+.
I’m 25 with a 2008 ultra classic! Love my ultra! But I do want a another bike like a road king or street bob
Ultra classic? Nah, got me an Ultra Limited cause I must be old, hahaha! Well it sits in my garage next to my dirt bike and my old Yamaha Royal Star, I never cared about brands it’s all about what fits you and what makes you happy
+kwlambright I love the limiteds , good choice
the limited is where its at
Im 29 and ride a 2009 dyna. Best bike i have ever owned. Younger riders really should give harleys and other cruiser type motorcycles a chance.
Oh you forgot something else us old guys have figured out.
They're just jealous they aren't on a big boys bike nothing says your a man like riding a 900 lb beast.
bastard with a beard
Whoa. Keep the details of your love life private, buddy.
Cody X good ride, I'm in envy
Most tool kits have a couple phillips and a couple flat screwdrivers....most mechanics have screwdrivers filling at least one entire toolbox drawer 😉.... multiple bikes keep mileages down & values up as well 😁
I bought a 93 ultra classic but i stripped it down. No hard boxes or luggage trunk or front faring. Put some beach bars on it. Looks pretty dope lol
28, riding a 06 VRod CVO. Screw a fairing and bags.
Bought a corvette at 25 and my first bagger at 26 🤷🏽♂️. On my fourth now at 33 👍🏽
kc2giw must be having problems keeping bikes properly serviced if you destroy them that quickly
Maybe a Kawasaki will hold up better for you
Im 26 and I love touring bikes (goldwing1500 is my dream bike). I planned on buying that 82 gold wing but someone beat me to it
INCBMX I was the same way. I rode touring bike in my 20's. Still own a GL1500
All be safe peace out.
what you really need is a big trail adventure motorcycle...
I'm surprised the street glide doesn't get more attention. If I got a touring bike it would be a road glide or Street glide,
I’m 28 and I switched from my sport bike to a triumph rocket. Nothing like it on the planet.
I truly enjoy your Bible verses. My 2012 Ultra is very sweet as well..
I'm 24 and I have a 2006 electra I turned into a bagger and still have a Yamaha fz09. Best of both worlds
Nice Ultra but not until I'm 40 something. I have a dyna with the fxr fairing.
I'm 30 and bought a 2004 FLHTC in March. 42k miles, I'm the third owner.
I'm 26 and I ride a 2008 ultra with 98k on it and no rebuilds. Took off the tour pack though.
Why was there a Buell 1125r in the back?
When you buy a Harley Davidson you’re buying into a lifestyle. When you buy a rice burner you are buying cheap transportation. I think most millennial‘s just simply can’t afford a Harley Davidson therefore make excuses for owning rice burners. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Im 33, i ride an FXDF and about twice a week i feel like i should also have a tourer. All my brothers have these bad boys and they love them. Theybget better gas mileage than me, get to bring things along with them, abd their bike doesnt weigh much more and isnt any slower than mine.
Rode a Road King at 30, will be riding a Street Glide at 39, Harley Touring bikes are awesome.
I went from a Guzz V7, to Concours 14 to a C90 and now considering an Ultra Classic or Goldwing, I wanna ride for days!
Instead of braking drive shafts on the civic, the vette is just breaking a more expensive torque tubes. Still the ultra classic is an amazing bike
If you think that 2005 is comfortable and runs well, ride one of the new Ultras with the new suspension and geometry.
are those speakers near the knees?
As the rider of an 05 VSTAR, I gotta say that I love a hot rod.
Bro more respect.
I’m 34 looking at one. Thank you for the info.
Im 24 i love street bikes bit im into the cruisers and i love them way more comfier theb being bent over all the time i got a 99 kawi concours 1000 love it and the bags you can carry stuff to
