  • Few custom cars make an impression like the "Double-Trouble" 1927 Ford Model T. It's powered by two 4.6-liter Ford modular V8s with four, count 'em, FOUR superchargers, for a power output topping 1,200 hp. It's a rolling a Hot Wheels car sure to make all your naughty bits tingle.

What's wrong with you people, it's not about getting 3,000 horsepower or handling better than a Lamborghini or looking better than some euro shit box, it's about craftsmanship, skill, one mans impressive idea of what he wants and then built all by hand, at home, not in some multi million dollar workshop with every imaginable computerised machine to build it! This is an absolute work of art and if you can't see that, your blind!!!
    Who cares if it only has 1200 hp, it's a road and show car, not a race car or drag car or circuit car!

    First of all I'm not an american. Matter of fact I'm not even close to be an american, I have no relations with america-usa whatsoever.I'm from somewhere around europe,so I'm totally objective about my statements.
    And I wanna say FUCK YOU to all people who says "american taste suck" "americans can't build nice car" etc. Bitch, Americans are doing things what they LOVE. Not to be great for the society. This guy built this because it was his passion. And I love the American cars most because instead practicability,economy,reliability, they was built on car PASSION. If you wanna be safe,make fuel economy,feel free to pussy out in your Volkswagen. I will be happy in a non-practicability,dirty,fuel drinking V8 Pontiac Firebird :))

    These engines are (a very slight) 281 Cubic Inches in displacement. Doubling up gives 562 cubic inches. It is currently possible to get more displacement than that from several readily available types of big block engine configurations. The reason for doubling up engines is to get size when it can not be done any other way. This car is automotive art.

    Two engines, four superchargers and produces 1,200 hp......Does anybody else feel that number should be a lot higher?

    • @masonhoeper9347

      Superchargers take a lot of horsepower to turn them. If they didn't sap power as much as they did, it would probably be 2000+

      I know what you're trying to say, but you got one mistake there. Turbos are spooled by the exhaust gases, so they can compress the air going into the engine

    Okay, to all the comments below saying this car is pointless and looks stupid or wrong, you clearly express your penis envy and nobody wants to hear you complain because you probably can't change your own oil. From what I understand so far, you have to know the maker to know the purpose of such a project. There is a point and he is being humble by playing dumb on how fast this beast can go. Judging by the size of the engines, the number of blowers, his exhaust system and a few other components, that thing has to put out way more than 1000 hp. He's a real genius in this type of engineering, pushing the limits on what you can do with such a skill set is part of the reason behind this. Ultimately, I think he's just being humble as hell, like most other guys who can eat the road alive in a single pass on any track. With a little tweaking, that blue monster could probaby make consistent sub-12 second passes on 1/4 mile all damn day. You all act like you've been there or done that, quit being a keyboard warrior critic. The double trouble rod is a testament to pushing the limits with American classic muscle engineering and the least you guys could do is show some respect for such hard work. PROPS FOR MAKING A BEAUTY!

      They said its 2 FROD engines. Even 800 Horsepower is a new record. I'm surprised. Why didn't you go for a Chevy 350~454CID with a single Supercharger. Easily would have had 1500 HP???

  • @AshesAndSketchesH0iImtemmie

    • @atsernov
      @atsernov 8 років тому

      +AshesAndSketches No, no it shouldn't. In fact, most of the build hinders the ultimate output of those engines. But on the other had, because they are so "de-tuned" he doesn't have to worry about anything on those engines.
      Besides, 1200HP is already too much for the street. Hell, 1200HP is too much in something like that anywhere.
