Darkseid wasn't a badass by any indicator. He was nearly killed and would have been had parademons not saved him by carrying him into the retreating ships. Darkseid was a coward. One of the few good things about the theatrical cut was even after the battle was lost, Steppenwolf refused to retreat and wanted to continue the fight. Parademons had to drag him into the retreating ship.
@@Redrgon25 steppenwold in the theatrical went out like a little punk-"no muh Axe broke I'm scared bye". Young darkseid went up against the old gods and lanterns pre omega sanction and still managed to survive.
@@koushikraja331 You do realize it was pretty much the same fight except Snyder replaced Steppenwold with Darkside & Steppenwold wasn't nearly killed like Darkside. Steppenwold was dragged meaning he wanted to continue and fight but the battle was lost and they dragged him into the ship. Darksides age is irrelevant. Diana made it very clear that Darkside at the time he tried to invade Earth had already made a name for himself and had conquered thousands of worlds, think Alexander the Great. Actually, unless Snyder changed Darksides origins, by the time Darkside has the stone like skin (which he had) he already possessed the omega sanction and only survived bc he was carried off the battlefield.

@@somniato7759 Snyder's Darkseid is a horrible leader and during the Darkseid War (the battle scene) he didn't intimidate anyone nor is he intimidating as he took a "L" and was nearly killed & had to be saved as he ran away like a coward.
@@Redrgon25 It literally took how many old gods to defeat him, and he wasn't even a new god at that time yet. Idk about you, but he should be pretty damn powerful, especially now that he has omega energy.
@@somniato7759 It only took 2 of the old gods to defeat him, Zeus and Ares. This is why if Snyder continued with the JL story, Darkseid's 2nd defeat is inevitable. Wonder Woman is a godkiller so she is pretty much a god and Superman is a god and you add the other JL members. Darkseid stands no chance. Your reference to Darkseid not being a new god or not possessing his omega energy would be correct if you are referring to his retcon origins in the 52s, however, Darkseid or Uxas, in his original origin, was born as part of the New God royalty and gain his omega energy when he, Uxas, killed his brother, Drax, for the omega effect and had his skin turn stone like (New Gods looks human). In the movie, Uxas had already become Darkseid (Diana referred to him as Darkseid & that he had already conquered world & universes) and possessed the omega effect so Darkseid was already powerful but yet he was defeated by only 2 old gods.
@@Redrgon25 Are we still talking about the movies or the comics? I don't recall Uxas using omega beams to defeat the old gods. Plus, wasn't Snyder's original plan, to have darkseid win against the JL, and then have Superman join him?

Despite having a bad first impression in the battle on earth and the anti life equation plot hole, Darkseid is one of the few things that the Snyder cut did well.
The first battle on earth wasn't Darkseid. It was Uxas.
Darkseid is the reborn God version of Uxas. They're technically different people, very different strengths as well.
