I've never driven the Murano, but I'd say it compares nicely to the Edge. Its been awhile since I was in the Edge, but its a little wider, and generally FEELS bigger, although they both pretty much serve the same purpose. They could definitely be cross shopped. CUVs as a whole tend to try and fill a niche that most consumers don't actually think exists! thanks for watching. -Greg
I've actually already driven the 4 cylinder Terrain, the older 3.0 liter V6 and now the Denali. I just didn't do a video on the first two...(I'd just had my first kid!) thanks for watching though. -Greg
I've driven both. Depending on your needs the FWD/4 cylinder is a good combination. I agree, its relatively slow, but for a lot of users, the fuel economy benefit would be worth it. thanks for watching! -Greg
Here in New Mexico, the V6 is nice for hills too. A turbo 4 would do better with the elevation though. thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing! -Greg
The 3.6 is a solid motor and more than appropriate for this CUV...but its also hard to argue that a serious V8 would be awesome! (like the old Trailblazer SS) Keep in mind though that this is essentially front wheel drive with some power diverted to the rear axle (not the other way around). thanks for checking out my review and your comment. -Greg
What can I say? To be honest, amazing review! This is what it's all about; getting the pro and the cons out of the cars. I don't like those reviewers who say only good things about the cars they test. I also watched the review you did on the 2013 fusion, amazing review as well. In other words, keep up the good work. I’m totally a car geek and to me you are doing great. Thumbs up!
The post 2008 estimates are much more realistic than pre-2008, but of course most people typically don't see the EPA estimates when they drive. thanks for watching and commenting! -Greg
My wife has a 2011 Terrain SLE and it does feel very sluggish when you take off. She has taken into the dealership on several occassions and they told her nothing was wrong. Until one day it started stuttering and she took it in and the #5 cylinder was misfiring. So they had to replace the spark plug. Keep in mind, it only had 32,*** miles on it. So keep an eye on the V6.
2013 GMC TERRAIN SLT So,.....this is my life right now. 2013 GMC Terrain SLT. Bought used with just over 100k. Great shape interior and exterior. Only owned for 7 months and ran fine. Month and a half ago was rolling up to stop light and it started sputtering then died while cars lined up behind me at a green light feeling totally embarrassed. Didn't start the first time, then started rough the second. Got it to a gas station, pulled the dipstick ( which then released a pressurized spray of oil all over me and the hoodie my girlfriend just got me for Christmas ) I had to spend $16.00 on gas station oil and had to add a quart and a half. Just got the oil changed last week - drove about 100 miles (three days later I was leaving for work at 4AM and pulled up to a stop light when it started sputtering again. Had to add half a quart when I pulled it over like WTF???!!!! Ended up 4 mins late for work. Oh,I also still owe around 9K on this car and who knows how much more now in oil. If this car blows up I'm going to set it on fire in the background of a live music jam then post it on UA-cam to bring some proper heat to case. I took out a loan to build credit to purchase my first home and my Jeep had finally kicked the bucket and needed a new motor. This car gets me back and forth to work right now and if it tanks I will be stuck with a $9,000 hunk of junk that should actually be work $13,000 if it weren't for the rep now. Anyone else here have a 2013 GMC Terrain SLT? If you've had issues with it there is an ongoing class action lawsuit that I encourage you to join in on here: I want my fucking money back. This is like the biggest most recent fraud since the VW fail device. 😢
The V6 I have is in an Acadia which is perfect even with the added weight of the vehicle. It tows boats and trailers for trips to the landfill just fine, especially in TOW/HAUL MODE.
thanks so much! Editing another now on the Prius C...should be up by the end of the week. thanks for watching and subscribing. -Greg p.s. feel free to send suggestions, trying to build this channel.
I'm sure! Can you leave some comments regarding using the 3.6 V6 Terrain for towing? What do you tow? How does it affect your fuel economy? Would you recommend it to others? thanks for watching! -Greg
A '16 Denali FWD, Sunroof, Intellilink, 19" wheels, $38,885 MSRP, with selling price of about $34.5k, low APR, and fair KBB dealer trade-in: Very much worth it!
It looks like a very manly type of truck in it's styling. Dodge started a great thing with it's Ram back in the 90's. I love those types of large grilles. It looks like a truck, the way it should look. Also, that 16/23 mpg rating would have been 18/25 under the pre 2008 estimates. I think the new ratings are correct in the city, but they're way off on the highway. My C6 is rated at 26 mpg hwy & I consistently get over 30 mpg. Anyway, nice truck & great review!!
what do you think of this version of the Terrain and compare that to the Edge and Murano? considering the Terrain compares more in the Midsize area and the Equinox (pretty much the same vehicle) compares to CR-V, Rav-4, etc?
Thanks for the good review. I like the Terrain, but agree about the Denali price tag. I do want the bigger engine though since I live in CO and have some interesting inclines to drive.
What the fuck is up with these car prices????? No 4cyl is worth $25,000 and no 6 cyl is worth $39,000. And some of these 8cyl are taggin in at +50,000K. With almost 1/3 of American not working should'nt demand for vehicles be down? And if demand is down should price be going down too? Something weird is going on.
XCyclonusX yeah and i remember when a 4 cyl was only 8 thousand its all the damn useless technology. cars shouldn't be on the verge of driving them selves . I can drive my own car i was raised on paper maps and no power anything hand crank windows and a/c
Greg thanks for doing this . I have a question do you think the upgrade to a v6 is worth it on a 2014 GMC TERRAIN SLE . would it be able to tow a camping trailer ? And what are your thoughts about this vs ford edge we just test drove a 2015 terrain sle 4cyl. I was very nice just want to know if I up graded to the v6 would it be worth my money or just use a company truck to tow the camping trailer and keep the 4 cyl
Matthew Noreen I'd say the v6 is probably worth the upgrade and yeah I'd say you'd be fine towing a pop camper or similar. The Edge is nice too...a little wider. They are very comparable. Thanks for chiming in! -Greg
I don't think sync is nearly as user friendly as intellilink is. I had a very hard time navigating through the verbal commands with sync and felt overwhelmed. Intellilink I felt was easier to use and I actually paired my iPhone with one verbal command and a couple taps on my iPhone screen. Also, one button push later on the 8" touch screen and I was listening to my favorite Ray Charles song :D I believe they all make good vehicles, but I disagree with sync being superior over intellilink.
found this to be really really helpful as my wife and I are considering her next car....Wish you would've spent a bit more time on the cargo/3rd row (like 20 seconds more). Overall very helfpul
you could get a gmc acadia which at base is near 30thousnd but there is also the dodge journey which starts at roughly 20thousand and tops out at roughly 30 thousand
Have you checked out my channel? Its just posted my review of a Ford Focus ST a couple weeks ago. I just finished driving the new GMC Sierra and am editing it now! I don't have access to any Hyundais, we don't have a dealer here locally. thanks for the interest! -Greg
Great video too bad I’m watching it 7 years after, one day after my purchase . You seem spot on about the acceleration. It’s as comfortable of a drive as I’ve ever had. The good looks & style sold me, I like the red light panels.
Too damn expensive for a semi-compact suv. Its really not that nice inside.. Not terrible, but not pleasing for the price. There are higher end cars for the same price to buy.
i love the shape of the car on the outside, but the trouble is when you are sitting in the car you dont see the outside you see the inside and everytime i see this car pass it turns my head and I'm driving one. and don't feel like i am. because i dislike it on the inside compared to my beige cadillac and my friends gmc beige Diamond Edition Avalanche. The beige is such a calming colour and the black is to too black and gets dirty way too fast. I strongly dislike the red lighting on the dash and radio accents and door handles. It's just too intense. These days with leds available we should be able to choose the colour of our lighting inside our cars.I love white care on the outside. Always bought white cars all my life. the fan and air conditioning is too loud. the navigation intellilink is just bad. hangs up on you all the time before you get a chance to answer and the menu is limited its not like siri or alexa or google it way behind your smartphone and you have to pay 200 dollars for an update to the maps which should be free since your paid for the car and the nave system. That is just a shame greedy money grab everyone should complain about. to your car company and just refuse putting it into your car being so behind a tablet. or smartphone. The only good part of it is the back up camera and there should be a front camera to see how close you are from curb or parking stone. the most important feature that should come mandatory on all cars is the blind side detection that i give the biggest thumbs up ever it is the cat's meow~

Sorry Greg, my buddy got a hold of my phone and left random comments on UA-cam. I watched the video, solid review. Keep on rockin!
I've actually already driven the 4 cylinder Terrain, the older 3.0 liter V6 and now the Denali. I just didn't do a video on the first two...(I'd just had my first kid!)
thanks for watching though.
-Greg
Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and thanks for checking out the video.

I could see that, although in person it looks pretty good. You're right though, the grill is a bit much.
thanks for watching.

I was looking into buying one, did my research on line and decided on a Infiniti QX50 , this thing moves!

Just bought one today! Super excited for it!

It should of course be available with a V8. There's more to life than MPG!
Any car test should show 0-60mph times.
That would be really interesting! (And I'd like to review that for you.)
Let me know when you get it built ;)
thanks for watching.
-Greg
Best review Ive seen for this model
The Pontiac Torrent was the second vehicle I ever test drove!
thanks for watching.
-Greg
Looking into getting one, its weird to see this video is from gallup. Makes me miss home because it's where I'm from
V6 isn't really overkill, but I've driven the 2.4 also. While not fast, its totally fine and gets better MPG.
-Greg
Hi Greg can you do a2015 Chevy Tahoe review? Please, I really wanna talk my mom to get one!
thanks so much! Editing another now on the Prius C...should be up by the end of the week.
thanks for watching and subscribing.
-Greg
p.s. feel free to send suggestions, trying to build this channel.
Im watching this two years to the day this guy made the video
TheKratos2006 creepy! (Just kidding) thanks for stopping by.

I'm sure! Can you leave some comments regarding using the 3.6 V6 Terrain for towing? What do you tow? How does it affect your fuel economy? Would you recommend it to others?
thanks for watching!

Interesting comparison idea. I'll probably drive a compass at some point and keep that in mind!
-Greg
A '16 Denali FWD, Sunroof, Intellilink, 19" wheels, $38,885 MSRP, with selling price of about $34.5k, low APR, and fair KBB dealer trade-in: Very much worth it!
Jean-Pierre Valenzuela awd has better resale value more people want awd over fwd
thanks! Spread the word!

Greg how come you haven't done any more reviews? Will you be reviewing hyundai cars, like the elantra, anytime soon? Thanks.
The V6 is great for towing and ripping through snow banks here in Canada
AIR DAM IS REMOVIBLE?
thanks for the update!
-Greg
the check engine light was only on for the self vehicle check it will go off once you start the car
Grey Gibson correct.
-Greg

XCyclonusX I agree, these are all out my price range, and I think I'm middle class!
Thanks for chiming in.

XCyclonusX - 100% agreed.

when will you have a review on the equinox??
whats your opinion of the 4 cylinder motor with awd? on this model
Very nice review, Please do a new one on 2015 SLE-2 vs Denali. Performance per dollar ..!
Sam Good idea. I'll keep that in mind.
-Greg
I stopped by.
You're welcome.
blkfreedom03 thank you!
-Greg
How much does the GMC Terrain maintenance cost?
I don't think sync is nearly as user friendly as intellilink is. I had a very hard time navigating through the verbal commands with sync and felt overwhelmed. Intellilink I felt was easier to use and I actually paired my iPhone with one verbal command and a couple taps on my iPhone screen. id love to see how the jeep compass stacks up against the gmc terrain
found this to be really really helpful as my wife and I are considering her next car....Wish you would've spent a bit more time on the cargo/3rd row (like 20 seconds more). Overall very helfpul
great review. i have the 2.4l equinox. lt. for 25. in my opinion a v6 is overkill for a small suv.
Thanks for uploading ur thoughts about.
How would you rate the vehicle today? 12/2023? The mechanics. Not the esthsetics.
thanks for sharing!
-Greg
what SUV do you recommend instead at this price point ?
you could get a gmc acadia which at base is near 30thousnd
but there is also the dodge journey which starts at roughly 20thousand and tops out at roughly 30 thousand
A jeep a nice one too, or at least an xterra with most of the same features, mpg, power etc. Hell you could even get a merc GLK
I want a terrain but I want to put a 8inch liftkit on it with mud tires
Iam trying to buy my first car do u have any suggestions
I might, but that's a pretty big question. What criteria do you have?
-Greg
my first car is the gmc terrain 2011 i love it :X
no problem...at least he watched! It's UA-cam...I'm used to it.
-Greg
This car was supposed to be the Pontiac Torrent back in 2010!
Have you checked out my channel? Its just posted my review of a Ford Focus ST a couple weeks ago. I just finished driving the new GMC Sierra and am editing it now! I don't have access to any Hyundais, we don't have a dealer here locally.

I have not seen one owner achieve 32mpg from the 4 cyl model
Rear seat adjust is the best one
Wow thank you You just saved me from expending that extra money
i like this review. subscribed!
Sooo your all basing your decision on one mans opinion of the Terrain with Denali package. We love ours and it's worth every penny.
Great video too bad I’m watching it 7 years after, one day after my purchase . You seem spot on about the acceleration. It’s as comfortable of a drive as I’ve ever had. The good looks & style sold me, I like the red light panels.
Very useful info thanks
Jay Sulz glad to help.

Good review.
yeah look at me I paid a lot of money for the Denali lettering on the side of my terrain. great buying point...haha

Too damn expensive for a semi-compact suv. Its really not that nice inside.. Not terrible, but not pleasing for the price. There are higher end cars for the same price to buy.
Which vehicles!?
lol the check engine light
Vehicle was in auxiliary mode I imagine.
thank you
I wouldn't get the 4 cylinder on his SUV, its doesn't have lots of power at all. I would go for the 6 cylinder.
Your voice is so loud . Very American like .
leo Germany Ha...that's called being a middle school teacher!
thanks for watching.

Nice SUV I like it?
I liked this car better before I went through the reviews.
William Su good thing the reviews are free!

It's not metal it is plastic plated
Give me a V8 and I'll take it......
wow...that'd be overkill!
thanks for stopping by.
-Greg
You want a compact suv the size of a rav4 with a v8.... wut?
Would be very trailblazer ss like... that would be awesome. These are slick rides. Mine is a 2011 with the 3.0 and can you say gutless? lol its not a bad car overall though
I make these bumpers lol
For some reason w
GM Garbarge
i love this car :X
Only yuppies pay that much for a name.
