    Try pre treating with a stronger stain removal formula and scrubbing those stubborn areas by hand. Let the formula sit for awhile if you ever do again. And then use machine after to rinse. I have a white rug as well. I add oxiclean white revive to the water this helps a lot!

      You can sprinkle baking soda all over your rug, leave on for 20 min. Baking soda will lift the dirt. Also, if you can stand the smell of vinegar. You can spray some vinegar onto rug or put into your clean water canister. The baking soda and vinegar will lift, clean deodorize your rug and you will have a very clean white rug again. I also recently discover this all natural product called the amazing whip-it (yellow label) and oh my gosh it works wonders. I use it to clean everything. I cleaned my bed with these 3 products and just amazing results. But thanks for sharing your idea.

    I have the same rug and the best way to get the dirt out and fluff it back up is to shake it out like crazy ( mine is big and heavy like yours too and I grab a side and stand on top of my couch to shake most dirt and debris onto the floor) so it’s hard to do that but it works. I find that since the shag is so high, vacuuming it just crushes it and all the dirt back in. I still vacuum after shaking though ..and I repeat the process of shaking out and vacuuming a bunch of times till im too tired. End with a shake , not a vacuum. Hope I helped anyone !

      I honestly feel that! I was cleaning the other day and I took the hose from my vacuum because I spilled some ashes on my white rug, FML I know. But with the hose I feel like I was able to get a lot more out of it like I got all of the ash out, and the area looked and felt more clean and soft than the other areas. Try that and see if it works? Since it’s more targeted, only thing is it’s gonna take forever. And my arm was tired after that one section 😂😭

    what people don't understand is do not put a lot of suds in the cleaner, bc you won't get it all out and suds leaves residue on the carpet....do not use near the amount of soap they suggest to use....if you have white carpets, ask people to take their shoes off, I do...shoes bring in lots of nasty bacteria. Great Job, looks great. I use a tad of white vinegar water and peroxide....

    • @TashaAntoinette
      @TashaAntoinette  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I try not to put a lot of soap and I rinse it with water a bunch of times to make sure all the soap is out! Because if you don’t get it out then dirt will stick to the rug even more 😭 The hardest part for me is telling people more than once. I need to stick a sign on my couch 😂 and I will try that, I hear vinegar is great for pet accidents!

  • @midtwilightblue
    @midtwilightblue 3 роки тому

    Mine is the same brand as yours though the fibers are longer and almost like twisted thread spaghetti…only way to describe lol!
    Anywho, it’s 8x10, EXTREMELY heavy and impossible to pick up and shake. We took it out in the yard on a 12x24 tarp and tried our best to shake back and forth while it was upside down and beat the tarnation out of it with a metal bat on the back side….still full of the finest particles of crumbs, glitter, paper, smashed yogurt raisins - anything children can make a mess of and anything that can come off yours and a pets body is in that rug and I regret the day I bought it!
    Deep cleaning with a personal use machine doesn’t do anything and vacuuming is pointless because the fibers are so long and matted together.
    I will suggest to you though for your type of shag is to slow vacuum. Meaning as slow as you can go throughout the entire rug, several times, until you see no more filling the bin/canister

    • @TashaAntoinette
      @TashaAntoinette  3 роки тому +1

      These rugs are SO heavy I don't think people truly understand haha. I absolutely cannot lift this rug by myself, I might try but I also don't want to get injured in the process haha. I'm sorry to hear that you regretted buying the rug, maybe you can find a way to reuse it when you buy a new one. Since i'm sure it was expensive as heck haha, my mom used to cut up her old rugs (if it was possible) and put them inside our dogs houses, or on the patio for them to chill on instead of the hard brick! I definitely think slow vacuuming works better, I do believe I don't have the right vacuum for this rug. I've been noticing that it pulls pieces of the shag out and makes it like frizzy? If that makes sense. Lol I don't know if it's too strong or what but I put it on high carpet and it does that. So i'm thinking about buying a new vacuum, not quite sure yet.

      I know! They’re unbelievably heavy, there’s no way to properly clean them as you would need it to be alone and without heavy machinery to lift it! Let alone when it’s wet!
      I think that with vacuuming these types you just need to have your brush bar turned off, that way it sucks what it can but it won’t agitate it too much to where it’s pulling and brushing the fibers. Or at least use an attachment on the hose - would take forever but would be more thorough in the long run.
      That’s a good idea for the doggies! I just need to get a dog lol!
      I did think of cutting the rug in half so it’s easier to manage. What sucks is it cost almost as much as what you pay for or at least half of it to get rugs professionally cleaned. Doesn’t make sense does it?!!

      She literally said in the video at the beginning that she DIDN’T need a Dyson because she “only vacuum’s two areas” of her home, that she’ll invest in one when she has more money. She is entitled to think that a much more expensive vacuum might have made her job easier, especially considering how hard it is to clean shag carpets with a weaker vacuum.
