    Good job. For many guys, this kind of system will be the way to go, for reasons of cost, workspace and production volume. If you're cranking out shells all day, a dedicated former is the way to go, but for versatility and affordability, this is hard to beat.

      +HenryHolsters spot on. Everything you listed is exactly why I went this route. I have a minimal amount of space to dedicate to formers and this was the best way for me to compromise. Thanks for the kind words man!

    I’ve seen people put the kydex down, then foam over the top, then use the frame to push down the foam creating a seal. Less kydex wasted while still semi membrane-less

    Like the idea of putting bear hair down for a venting system below mold.

      I've found true breather mesh to be best. A suitable replacement for that would be gutter guard, which can be purchased at home improvement stores for very cheap.

    hey nice vid, you have me wanting to do this to my 300. Just curios what you use that specific blocking for on the right side toward the muzzle?

      LWRCrep that's my belt attachment blocking. I have lots of pictures on Facebook and Instagram showing the final products with the belt attachment.

    what is the difference between membrane-less and membrane former? what are the pros and cons of each and what are each one of them used for?

    +Titan Concealment Hello I'm the owner of FtGear LLC and I make carriers and holsters as well. I've been using a vacuum former now for a year and my definition is unbelievable but I do like your mod. I never bought a former from HD or Therma Press. I just built my own and large enough to therma press 2 weapon mods and can even do large knives. With that I'm sure your using a lot more material? So that means you have more waste? In addition too, I have found a way to vacuum form real firearms with really thin material and make my own weapon molds and cast them really cheap. I have NOW reduced my cost by 1000 percent so all funds from gross sales are profitable. Again I do like what you've done in modding your press, good idea... Take care

    Why not just get a smaller vacuum former for these size holsters?

  • @gregpruitt1647
    @gregpruitt1647 7 років тому

    On the topic of waste, what size is that sheet of Kydex you used for the holster? Also, when you do the fold over, what is the shape of your sight channel?

      G P 12x12 and round sight channel. I'm not concerned with waste when I buy materials in bulk

      I have been Making Standard press holsters for over 5 years .I would like your opinion on what are the benefits of Vac forming .
      I'm curious because I can make foam pressed holster with enough definition to hold the gun secure with no play in the holster.At some point too much definition against the body for IWB makes the Holster less comfortable .Is it speed of constuction?It just seems too complicated and then doesnt allow you to make holsters off of a customers pistol .Thanks

    • @titanconcealment3050
      @titanconcealment3050  7 років тому

      Ted _ Cori depending on your style of holster, you could still use the customer's gun to make one. Vacuum forming is about production speed, repeatability, and being able to press unique shapes and molds. The pros far outweigh the one or two cons that I can think of, if I would even call them cons.

    • @ted_cori3724

      Thanks for your response , its a lot to think about .I only do about 100 holsters a month and do over 40 models .That"s a huge investment for me and I am not sure it makes sense .I feel like in the next year or so with so many Vac holsters on the market people will want the one off more hand made holsters with a lot of attention to detail .Still not sure

    • @titanconcealment3050
      @titanconcealment3050  7 років тому

      Ted _ Cori attention to detail is not determined by the process used to form the holster though. it only determines the speed at which it's done. most of us using vac forming did not jump right in and transition over night. small investments were made slowly and when the mold inventory was completely available, the transition was made. ease into it

    • @titanconcealment3050
      @titanconcealment3050  6 років тому

      I do not have any videos on router trimming at this time. I certainly could make a short video on using a router to trim. We also offer HDPE split boards for various models as well as custom trim jigs to match.

    Larger, heavier duty extruded framing.

      bl incognito absolutely. this is just a proof of concept. A whole new adapter for the HD200 is in the works which will also be using thicker frames.

    so is this a holster or a form to make a blue gun?

    • @titanconcealment3050
      @titanconcealment3050  6 років тому

      FreeRange1234 the black shell that was formed is the holster. The green piece is the mold. No blue guns were used in this video

      Is that a taco holster, I'm just having a hard time seeing a holster there.

    • @titanconcealment3050
      @titanconcealment3050  6 років тому

      That's because it isn't completed. This is just showing the forming process. Yes, this would be a "taco" holster, properly known as a Fold-Over holster. After forming this shell would be cut out from the sheet and then folded along the sight channel.
