A friend of mine keeps falling for "Russian Brides" even though he knows that he's being ripped off by every one of these "relationships" the sellers know their marks very well. The love addicted are their best customers....and amen (!) to being single.

If it makes any of these women feel better, when I was 19, a Moroccan man named Zuhair was living in my home city in the US asked me out on a date (we worked at the same restaurant) and two weeks later, he told me he loved me and wanted me to marry him. He was good looking but I knew nothing about him. Smelling a scheme, I said no and he dumped me. Six months later, he was married to my co-worker; they stay married two years almost to the day when he bolted - he'd stayed long enough to have US residency. His older brother Rachid had done the same thing. This was 30 years ago! This scam is as old as the hills.
My daughter is only 32 and very pretty yet she's being scammed by an older man (he is 40 and not that attractive) that she met on a holiday (he was the barman at the hotel).

I do feel some empathy for these women. When I met my partner 17 years ago, I was a 30 year old newly single mother after a breakdown of my 14 year marriage. My partner was at the time 19, turning 20 so there is a 10 year age gap. He was french and incredibly good looking. I had my daughter at 28 and, what no one could have known, was I would suffer from the effects of gestational back pain ever since. We dated for a year before I introduced him to my daughter, whose own father barely sees her more than a few hours a year. And we have been happy together ever since. I am in a lot of pain and that has affected my life because im not able to be as active as I once was, let alone the psychological effects of constant chronic pain. And he is just the most incredible person...he has stuck by me through everything and always shows how much he loves me. And he has been the BEST father to our daughter...He's been her dad since she was 3. Sometimes, these guys are genuine! I remember at the time people saying to me maybe it was a scam or something but we are still together in ❤️

You're a western woman, mature, have lived in the western economy, but then suddenly I am supposed to believe it came as such a shock to these western women when the boyfriend from a third world country with zero employment skills and no opportunity to save any kind of cash, turns up on a fiance visa gets married to them but then have no ability to contribute to the house hold income. I've had this experience in America. Men who come on very strong, talk very sweet, nice dates. They introduce you to friends and family quickly. They talk about marriage in such a romantic way. So many offered me thousands of dollars. I never fell for any of it! Many use dating apps to get the women. Many are already married in their country.

It’s exactly what happened to me but I manage to divorce her prior to the visa arriving. I found out she literally had another life outside of our marriage. Thank God I listened to my intuitions and decided to investigate her and then surprise her with the divorce. Now 4 month divorced and happiest I ever been plus I have met someone else who is in the same country as me.

I had a patient with severe mobility issues in contact with a man who writes her letters. She has sent him money. He told her he is a high ranking army official in Texas. Every time he gives her a date that he will come and see her some kind “assignment” comes up and he has to cancel. She is so smitten by him and always talks about him. She get angry when people challenge the intentions of this guy. Some of the staff thinks it is someone close to her catfishing her out of money.
My mom's friend got scammed out of $80k from someone fitting this exact same description a couple years ago. I wonder if it's the same person, or a common scam
A common scam they use photos from the internet and claim to be in the military. It’s very easy to do a reverse image search and find out who the real person is.

I know someone who ended up with over 500k debt because her husband had nothing when he arrived. She had to buy everything for him. She even played for airplane tickets so he could visit his family regularly. Because he wasn’t able to get a loan, she took out loans for him on her name. As soon as he got his paperwork to stay in the country he was gone. Took everything with him and left her up to her ears in debt.

the thing is it wasn't 'marriage fraud', they willingly and consensually entered into those arrangements. The issue is that either they felt obliged to go ahead when they weren't ready, but that is their judgment call still not 'fraud' and/or hadn't taken enough time to actually understand who they were with, get to know them and their culture and the men's expectations - they were not 'western' with all that comes with it but from cultures that (possibly) don't respect/treat women as equals or the same as in the UK.

I do feel some empathy for these women.
When I met my partner 17 years ago, I was a 30 year old newly single mother after a breakdown of my 14 year marriage. My partner was at the time 19, turning 20 so there is a 10 year age gap. He was french and incredibly good looking. I had my daughter at 28 and, what no one could have known, was I would suffer from the effects of gestational back pain ever since.
We dated for a year before I introduced him to my daughter, whose own father barely sees her more than a few hours a year. And we have been happy together ever since. I am in a lot of pain and that has affected my life because im not able to be as active as I once was, let alone the psychological effects of constant chronic pain.
And he is just the most incredible person...he has stuck by me through everything and always shows how much he loves me. And he has been the BEST father to our daughter...He's been her dad since she was 3. Sometimes, these guys are genuine!

I'm 55 and would never fall for this. I don't grasp why single women feel the need to have any man to make them feel like a whole human being! We are already whole, go inside yourself, find yourself, and learn to love yourself. I enjoy being single very much, always have always will.

I had a patient with severe mobility issues in contact with a man who writes her letters. She has sent him money. He told her he is a high ranking army official in Texas. Every time he gives her a date that he will come and see her some kind “assignment” comes up and he has to cancel. She is so smitten by him and always talks about him. She get angry when people challenge the intentions of this guy. Some of the staff thinks it is someone close to her catfishing her out of money.
My mom's friend got scammed out of $80k from someone fitting this exact same description a couple years ago. I wonder if it's the same person, or a common scam

A common scam they use photos from the internet and claim to be in the military. It’s very easy to do a reverse image search and find out who the real person is.
@@QueenBee-xd1xk It’s a very common scam. There’s a channel here called “Catfished” that has a video every week with a new person falling for that scam. Usually the scammer is in Nigeria and has stolen the photos of someone good looking.
Of course, it is a scam. The staff needs to find a way to cancel the Guy.

Some people know they are being used for their money but they don’t mind paying…. Like Kanye West and Kim Kardashion. Just saying. The concept of men using women and women using men are classic. People use people to get what they want. Manipulators at work. Basketball players are another example of easy dudes that get manipulated by pretty girls who get pregnant and then they must pay thousands of dollars for 18 years for their child. SMH 🤦🏾♀️

I know someone who ended up with over 500k debt because her husband had nothing when he arrived. She had to buy everything for him. She even played for airplane tickets so he could visit his family regularly. Because he wasn’t able to get a loan, she took out loans for him on her name. As soon as he got his paperwork to stay in the country he was gone. Took everything with him and left her up to her ears in debt.
I think these women know what those men are up to if they are honest with themselves

And desperation. they all thought they were “the one” and “different” from all the other women their young foreign prince has met. they wanted to be “ picked” by these men SO BADLY and did everything to be picked. When they finally got “picked”, they felt inevitable. The idea of them doing ANYTHING to wrong them didn’t even register in their minds for a second. All red flags out the window. Even if they saw the red flags, they were too desperate to leave them. Their foreign, credit card seeking, wallet loving young boy could NEVER wrong them. 🤥. Ugh. the thing is it wasn't 'marriage fraud', they willingly and consensually entered into those arrangements. The issue is that either they felt obliged to go ahead when they weren't ready, but that is their judgment call still not 'fraud' and/or hadn't taken enough time to actually understand who they were with, get to know them and their culture and the men's expectations - they were not 'western' with all that comes with it but from cultures that (possibly) don't respect/treat women as equals or the same as in the UK.

Most of the scammers in social media (facebook, instagram) use US-fake names, fotos and personalities. Even telephone numbers are faked, when they call you. It is technically no problem to use another country‘s area code.

In Morocco the young guys were proposing marriage to every girl they met just hoping someone would take them somewhere else.
