I really liked this one, but then again, I am left-handed.
Watch Steve Vai's song/video called "Knappsack." He just had surgery on his right shoulder, so he couldn't use his right hand. So the song is played only with the left hand on guitar.
Yep, from the difficulties Rob was having with the solo, i'm guessing he hasn't seen it. Steve solves all his issues plus throws in stuff like whammy bar to push it even more. Every guitar player should definitely see it at least once.

They literally never stop making bangers lol. Some of the early FOO stuff got a bit rough at times but by now they've got so much experience doing this kinda thing that it makes you wonder what kind of crazy prog rock kind of album they could put together without a time limit.

These songs always sound greater than the sum of their parts. The melodies make so much more impact with the full mix below them.
Check out Steve Vai's song Knappsack if you don't already know it! The backstory there is that Steve Vai had a right arm surgery and while the arm was recovering he wrote a five minute guitar solo that's all hammer-ons and pull-offs. Freaking bonkers.

This is my favorite content that you guys do, it’s like having a mini-First of October all year round.
Possibly for genre reasons, but this is my favorite Sonic Boom! song so far. Tying in with Rob's question for structure, I always always always love an extended instrumental outro. It lets me digest the last lyrics as the imagination goes crazy over the solos.

I thought I'd try playing both songs at the same time to see how you sound with both hands.
Doesn't really work, but at some points it almost does, like lyrics going back and forth, some parts slowing while others pick up, etc.
I think this could be a cool concept though!

That was so good. I am reminded of the score to John Carpenter's Vampires, and that's my favorite movie of all time so that automatically makes this ten times better.
I think it would be absolutely magical if for an episode of Sonic Boom, or even just a collaboration video with Rob Scallon, if you two revisited Pretty Raw and made the version you two were hearing on October 1st. You two both felt like it could use more, vocals, guitar, other arrangement parts. The song is so beautiful and I'm so curious to see what the alternate timeline could've been!

I own a double capsule microphone like that, it's a Josephson C720. The thing I like the most with that kind of mike is that you can choose which directivity you need during the mix by blending one capsule into the other : omni, cardio or stereo of course but also hypercardoid and figure 8 if you flip the phase of one of the capsules. Pretty powerful mike 🔥

For future reference, Rob, you can move the top hi-hat up a bit so it just barely touches the bottom when the pedal's all the way down. That way you can splash it with your foot for something quite close to a crash hit.
