98 more song.!!!!!
you gotta get an instrumental out. i need to do a vocal cover!!
I though the word the was our! thank god....
Something very funny about Rob thoughtfully mentioning that a banjo might sound good and then the very next cut to him he's equipped the banjo
fuckin killed me (and i came back as a powerful ghost)
@@cherrycoke106underrated reply
its ok i rate it @@andrewhuang
It spawned in after he said that
@@michaelh9656he crafted it
"What would Tom Waits do?" is pretty much always the right question to ask.
The range of genres you guys are able to work in never ceases to amaze me.
Rob said "Malort" and I physically gagged.
Bro same!
Malort trauma gang stand up
Just bought a bottle for my poker night tonight! Acquired taste!
@@cmonnow that's what I've heard, but I don't think I could put myself through that enough times to acquire the taste 😂
@@ItsDylanBruh oh man, I'm standing tall haha. I was working on this small weekly show and it was customary to take a shot before we went live and one time someone brought Malort and gave me almost no warning. I felt my soul leave my body that day 🤣
I can't help but feel less western saloon and more some kind of funky bayou blues sung in a foggy downtown New Orleans bar. Amazing regardless.
First thing I thought, and I don't even listen to these genres of music! It just sounded funky and stanky, ha-ha. Sounds great regardless!
Andrew, I just finished your book. Great read, man. I've been writing and publishing original material for a decade now, but your tips on getting into a creative headspace has been really helpful and inspiring. You helped me overcome some serious writers block, and now I'm writing something that I really like! Keep up the good work my man
Love to hear that, thank you!
When that 100 riffs video first came out i was kind of sad because they would never be first of october songs, and i am so glad that they're actually getting the use they deserve somewhere
I was actually getting some slight Pink Floyd vibes during the guitar solo sections! Andrew's solos actually reminded me a bit of David Gilmour, and the lead guitar parts in the second verse definitely contributed to it feeling a bit like Pink Floyd.
Great job on this one, both of you!
Edit: Look Mom I'm popular!
(Okay, jokes aside-- seriously, thanks for the positive responses to this comment! I don't usually have anyone respond to my comments so it was really cool seeing that!)
Yes, somewhere between the Wish You Were Here and Animals albums.
Same guitar and tuning, thats why ;)
somewhere in the middle of Echos at Pompeii for me
@@Mudshovel27 no there's so much more than the tone, it's uncanny how similar it sounds, the whole song
@@ambiention I haven't actually seen the Live at Pompeii footage... God what am I doing with my life XD, I need to watch that
"Wish you were here" meets "The real folk blues"
Absolutely love the direction this went! You and Rob killed it ❤
I knew this riff would lead to a banger and it didn't miss
I love this show so much...
Always impressed by how versatile, fast and creative you are.
Humbling and very inspiring!
One thing I absolutely love about seeing you two doing things together is the pure joy you guys obviously experience. The smiles almost never stop. This is such a key component of being in the music industry and you guys do it so well! Keep rocking
This series is literally like everything I want in one, and these riffs to songs are some of my favourite videos of all time, seriously
Probably my favorite of all the Sonic Boom tracks thus far. Super happy you held back and kept it simple and let the riff speak for itself. Also as a Canadian: 10/10 Loon
This is really music.... Sounds like a Tarantino Soundtrack. Awesome Guys.
Rockstar take note - this belongs in whatever Red Dead game comes next
This feels like a Raconteurs or Black Keys song from certain eras. Drips with atmosphere though. Good work!
There's something to be said for the near constant communication between Andrew and Rob. Obviously all the talent helps. But the communication really makes something like this not only feasible, but fun and also awesome.
Andrew has finally accepted his destiny with Rob of outdoing the Monster Mash
XD thats pretty much an annual goal for these two!
Andrew is by far the most versatile music producer on UA-cam that I have ever come across.
If anyone plays Rimworld, this is exactly what the music sounds like, and I'm in love.
Exactly what I thought of! Especially the guitar fills between chords 🔥🔥
Guitar tone gives me Silent Hill 2 Theme of Laura vibes
I want to hug that telecaster solo tone and never let go
Wow, you even got Shohreh Aghdashloo to do a voice line at the end! 18:56
that is simply amazing. everything about that song is perfect.
watching them cook like this is so nice to see. this video feels like a more chill version of a FoO album video. i've been working on music with a friend for years but we get super easily distracted and we don't play live instruments (at least in the music we make together) but we're incredibly inefficient. We've been working on a specific song for literally 7 years next month. Although, to disgress, we started working on it when we were fourteen and we're both neurodivergent so our distractible brains kinda reverberate off of each other and we make little progress when we work lol
I agree the saloon would absolutely be stocked with the Petrucci Neural DSP in the back! Lmfao
this is probably my favourite song thats come out of sonic boom, im so glad they didnt go silly with this (as much as i love it when they do)! awesome stuff
really reminds me alot of Wall era Floyd, and the Luther Wright & The Wrongs Bluegrass version. Fantastic.
I love when Rob brings out the banjo. It makes me wonder if Rob has ever played Outer Wilds.
Don't ever stop, this is an S tier collab, you guys and your team are great
Needs a super blusy female lead. Someone who can really belt it and make it her own
"well that's gonna be pretty tough to get" *gets it immediately*
I really like this one!
Adding it to my Deadlands RPG playlist immediately
I think this is the best song you guys have done so far on this show! Really incredible stuff.
Two for two so far for these riff into full song that has gone straight into my main playlist 👍
So far, I think this and If I Die Tonight are the best Sonic Boom Songs. Keep up the good work!
This should be the theme song for a new Shrek movie!
I own and love the long sleeve hoodie version of Andrew's sweater... It gives me magical musical powers
That upright bass sound on the second verse is so effective
This feels like a cool mix of Port Sulphur Band and The Black Keys. Very bluesy-rock salted with some thick southern sauce!
I also find my self thinking "What would Tom Waits do?", and squinting.
So good, so magical, so original, so well done. It's just amazing what you do.
Man the guitar brought me straight back to that Razorlight hit back from the 2000s!
Spring reverb on the snare was a choice 😂
Very random man, but i grew up watching your videos on UA-cam, still tune in to this day! You inspired me to start making music, been making music since 2020. Love you guys man!
It's just freaking ABSURD how good you guys are. Science should study you lot. Hot damn... every new song is the best one... jeez.
The backing band was really funny this episode.
A bit lazy though, letting Andrew and Rob do the heavy lifting again
I've just re-watched the entire Sonic Boom playlist and I'd never noticed that they put a little bit at the end of theme song that's linked to the video in. Great touch. This tunes definitely my favourite. I wonder how long this banger took to make compared to their other hour challenges?
I really enjoyed them. But part of me wishes that this was just the first half of like a Stairway, One, or Freebird-style track where it built into a huge 2nd half.
Hmmm, loving the new Lemonbook Pro...
This one was the best one so far, it ended up amazing, it remembers me so much of Pink Floyd, specially Shine on you crazy diamond
Damn! Andrew's guitar chops are really getting good! The slower solo's you can really hear his tone! I love shredy shredy but damn that's some sweet hang time between notes! Rob's djent needed a break anyway!
Guys, this is one of the BEST songs you've done! Absolutely beautiful!
bro rob and andrew are like the game grumps of music production, they have amazing chemistry on camera, also i think there could be an amazing arrangement of the song with a more stripped back version with like just guitar bass and drums like what Jack White did on SNL.
You guys have just written the most brilliant theme song to a Quentin Tarantino film. I can definitely hear this in a Western Ghost story.. Really awesome !!!
Still to this day, the pink fluffy unicorns are still dancing on rainbows.
The loons killed me. 🤣
One of your best songs so far, well done :) also, i feel the quality of the songs is better when you don't have a time constraint
This is awesome! One of the best songs Andrew and Rob have done, at least imho.
This turned out amazing! I love that you are making this a regular thing
Getting some good Queens of the Stone Age vibes, love it
i wish the guitar solo at the end lasted a little longer and went into a bit more of a complex insane section that would kinda represent the protagonist's mental state but other than that his is a VIBE.
My fav parts were the spending immortality crafting, and the song ending with the loon.
The quality just keeps getting better!! Love the series! ❤🎶🎵
Strong „Twin Peaks“-vibes here.
I am so thankful for your collaborations. My life is fuller because you share your creativity!
Have listened to If I die tonight probably a million times by now. Such a banger
kinda sound like "Have A Cigar", but different. love it
Great song and vid guys! Also nice to see Rob enjoy himself again.
Classic Rob move. This is gonna be tough... Nailed it
I’m about 11:00 in and solidly hearing STP’s “Big Empty.” Fun.
YEAH!
DAMN, Andrew Huang, you've done it again!
BEAUTIFUL, Man.
Absolutely beautiful.
And, thanks for sharing your process.
I loved every choice that you guys made for this song.
The bass and vocals were my absolute favorites, along with the lone loon sound at the end -and the improvised vo (lol).
Did I just hear Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass?!
Love Sonic Boom, btw.
This is amazing. Keep up this series plz!
Loved it !!! You are Awesome together , and with the Crew in and around making the Magic happen !
But that's Just My Canadian Dollars worth at the end of the song keeping Me Loonie !!!
Definitely should have been an instrumental, or had a Dire straits style vocal.
Yknow, I was totally on board with this being an insutrumental as well. Andrew's vocal sound didn't quite fit the vibe they were going for. But turned out pretty cool anyway
Is he wearing his Granma's sweater?
I love that riff, the song kinda gives grunge vibes. 10/10, great job guys
Gosh do I love these guys, great job on the song I loved it !!!
Awesome. My favorite thing to watch is your guys making music. Very inspiring.
Pink fluffy unicorns, dancing on rainbows!
andrews fit is on fleek
At first I wasn't feeling the lyrics during the recording process, I started to get the sense that this would be a song that was purely instrumental and thrown out into the world for other people to sing over top of (which could still work, because I also get the sense that a female vocalist would sound really good with these instrumentals), but when it all came together in the end, it really worked.
Andrew, these are some of your best vocals I've heard yet. Holy shit.
so many parts made me go "whip crack with his whoopy tail, and the beast was done"
Love love love this content. Inspiring and entertaining.
Sounds like Dipped in Bleach by Liam St. John and I love every second of this song
This has gotta be one of my favs so far!!! Good job boyz!! 🙌🥂❤️🔥🔥
My favorite riff out of the 100 is still the one y'all made but forgot to name or number.
Everytime Andrew and Rob launch a new song I think "this is my favorite from them". The only way to take the top 1 for me ia for them to make a Bohemian Rhapsody style song!
is that an Apple Taped to The MacBook? 😂
I just realized something, their first 2 100 riff songs:
"If I Die Tonight" "If you're the one to take me, it's not the last you'll faxe me when I'm gone."
Are there some secret assassination attempts we need to know about?
Stylistically this is a wonderful example of how much you two can flex - you really committed to theme and it sounds awesome!
Playing a tele is extremely appropriate for the Floyd vibes of this song
Putting the loon back in "Saloon"
Wow, that was worth the wait. Love it!
Killer! I would be a kid in a candy store in that studio! Keep up the fun content!
I know you guys were going for country but I think the riff feels very Pink Floyd-esque
