- Hey you guys! We were extremely happy to react to Babymetal once more! We haven't reacted to them in a quick minute and we were not let down! We found the performance astounding! We loved their enthusiasm on stage! Strong vocals, epic choreography and an awesome bond between the audience and the band, what more could you ask for?! Babymetal has proven to us once again how much they have to offer! We truly loved their performance and Mia and I (Juliet) couldn't have said it better in the video! We hope you guys enjoyed our reaction as much as we enjoyed reacting to the video! And remember to stay safe and stay tuned for upcoming videos! We love you guys!

"Legend 1997" is the title of the event/concert...named because it was Su-Metal's 16th Birthday, and she was born in 1997.
"Hedoban" is just the Japanese pronunciation of Headbang, which is what you're hearing them repeat.
Next Babymetal song should be "Karate" offical video. It's one of their most reacted videos!

It's a fun high energy song. Very catchy with intense stage performance!
can NEVER go wrong with this band. As long as you can avoid blocks/takedowns this is some of the best to react to, and they cover all different styles of metal. babymetal Death from this same concert, Legend 1997 usually doesn't get blocked and is VERY different, always fun to see how people react!
Also, avoid anything from Glastonbury for the audio quality being complete hot, wet garbage.
Great reaction - did you spot Pikacchu right in the middle of the crowd? That was smoke cannons/fog machine Yui and Moa were aiming at the audience ... they change it up every time they play 'Headbanger', so sometimes it is the fog machines, sometimes they will lead a call & response or that might do something different.
The show was called legend 1997 because that was the year Su was born and this was a show celebrating her 16th birthday - it was actually December 21st the day after her birthday) in 2013 and there were about 8 or 9,000 people there that night. It was their biggest show up to then ... they have gone on to sell out much bigger venues since of course.
Their choreographer is Mikiko - she was coordinating the opening for the Tokyo Olympics before it was all called off.
You were right, Headbanger is about a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday, but 15 is also an important age in Japan, so it was also about her coming of age and taking the next step into the next stage of her life.
More Babymetal please, every song is different (as you can see from the 3 songs you have seen so far). 'Megitsune' (official video or live at Budokan), Ijime, Dame, Zettai (live at Sonisphere in the UK 2014) ... or any other song you fancy really - they would all be good.
Indeed, Su is a lot older than she appears, having survived two world wars and in addition the Russo-Japanese conflict ;-) [Bit of a boo-boo there, writing 1887 instead of 1997]
But seriously, they do indeed put on the best live shows; just about any live performance would be great to react to.

What was happening at the end was, this song was the last one on their main set. People were cheering and clapping to get them to come out again for an encore.
Unfortunately, the guitar player passed away in 2018 from a bad fall in an observatory :(
These concerts are absolute Marathons for the girls! Incredible athletes and performers!!! Its half metal concert, half idol performance, half martial arts exhibit! Yes, that adds up to 150% because THATS HOW MUCH EFFORT THEY PUT IN
Great stuff coming back to BM - the best thing about them is that they aren't just a musical performance, they're a whole show. You should try Pa Pa Ya - you'd love it.

Good song choice.
Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when the studio version was recorded.
It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than attending concerts. : )
This was one of their earliest hits, but they didn't play it at all in 2018.
I'm really glad it was back on the setlist for 2019 and 2020.

The next Babymetal song has to be Pa Pa Ya. Only released last year, it's an up beat summer song.
Another band from Japan with young girls in it "Broken By The Scream - KI・RA・I !!" Mind you if your dad is not going to let you do Babymetal, he may not let you do this band, not that they are rude or anything bad like that.
I enjoy this set up better. Even though the video is smaller on the screen, you can see the entire music video. Nice touch with the logo in the background.

@MR JAKE They are promoting a blu ray/dvd of their Metal Galaxy Concerts from last year when they began (or ended?) their tour, which is being released on Sept. 9th. They've been blocking a lot over the course of the pandemic, but no one has a real clue why. Some speculate it could be the YT bots because people were working at home and such, others say it is their record label Amuse just because. It is important to know that they have had at least two streams of older concerts (maybe 3) during this quarantine/lock down time, so they may be blocking stuff so you can only catch it via their streaming of it.
Plenty of people have gotten around the blocks in different ways, but it is annoying because I've heard that before this BABYMETAL was one of the safest ones to react to with hardly any blocks happening.

Great reaction ladies, very fun! The girls of BABYMETAL put in a LOT of hard work! Here's something you might be interested to know; a guy from another reaction channel who was an English teacher in Japan, said that school kids there spent up to 12 hours a day on school & school-related activities (homework, sports, clubs, etc.) & he couldn't imagine when the girls would find the time to do BABYMETAL - then I read the following in a 'Rolling Stone' interview with Su-metal (lead singer):
ROLLING STONE: "What’s a typical day of rehearsal like?"
SU-METAL: "As you know, we have to go to school, so we can only practice after school. So, we do about 4 hours after."

BABYMETAL songs, lyrics, & choreography have at times been silly, poppy, & fun, but also have songs like "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", which translates to "No More, Bullying, Forever", as many of their songs are positive & inspirational. My great-niece, who will be 12 this October, is a huge fan of BABYMETAL. They have opened her eyes to the endless possibilities of what happens when preparation & hard work meets opportunity. While understanding no one is perfect, the young ladies of BABYMETAL have proved to be terrific role models. 🦊🤘

The song is about a young girl (age 15 in the song, the age at which a typical Japanese kid graduates from mandatory schooling) going to her first metal concert and realizing that she will never be able to experience it again exactly the same way. You can apply this to a lot of experiences growing up. They are chanting "Hed-o-ban", a Japanese translation of the word "headbanger". There is an official music video for this song too, with special effects.

A tidbit for you. Before joining Sakura Gakiun Su attended the Hiroshima School of Acting with her sister and performed in at least 1 stage production. Remember the is not about them, they don't go to concerts, they are the concert!!

It isn't my favorite, but I just tried to actually give it a ranking and it is impossible to do because I love 99% of their songs...the remaining 1% I only like a lot. It is at or VERY near my top 5, though! It's a hell of a song, music video, and live performance. I would recommend they double-shot it: react to the MV, then do the live version from Download 2016 in the same video!

I saw babymetal twice in Dallas last year and it was fantastic,,,can't wait till normal life returns and artists get back to touring
Great reaction! I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but the lower growls aren't done by the girls, although Moa and Yui are said to do "growls" as part of their official capacities in the group. It is all someone else on a backing track. The only thing Su does is when she tries to scream like some metal singers do and she goes super high, which is the "high note" you mentioned her doing a couple times. That said, watching the videos of BABYMETAL does show Su with an AMAZING death stare! She aims at you, you're probably dust.
The "vacuums" you mentioned were meant to be fire extinguishers. Many people, myself included, say that it is because Su just set the crowd on fire with her singing, so Yui and Moa were there to put them out with them.
Also, this was 2013, not 1997. The name of the concert was "Legend 1997", which is Su's birth year. This concert was to celebrate her 16th birthday. There's another good video you'll get to from that same concert that is pretty friggin' EPIC on the metal scale.
Sorry to hear about your "Road of Resistance" video being blocked. That happens lately, especially that particular video. You could always try uploading it to a different web site, create a "video" here with the link to the other site in the description and then just ask people to watch the short "video" you do here to keep the numbers up. I'd love to see that reaction as I mentioned when you reacted to DragonForce how they helped co-write RoR for BABYMETAL.

Please do a reaction to Guns N Roses. My favourite band of all time. They are a hard rock/classic rock band from LA. Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain are their most commercially successful songs and both have over 1 billion UA-cam views. Other greats songs to check out are Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Don't Cry, Patience, Civil War, Estranged and You could be Mine. The music video for November Rain is one of the best and most expensive ever made. You have probably heard at least 1 or 2 songs but they have many great songs. They were one of the biggest band in the world in the late 80s and early 90s. They are in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and have sold over 100 Million albums world wide.
