- Hey you guys!! Hopefully you enjoy this video of Babymetal! This was an epic video where Su-metal, Moametal and Yuimetal were insane! Their choreography made them spark on stage and we loved their singing! We were amazed throughout the whole video! Babymetal is a Kawaii metal band and they are crazy in a way that they are very coordinated and know how to pull off a performance! We hope you enjoyed this reaction as much as we enjoyed the video! Suzuka Nakamoto is a very sweet, quiet, but mostly typical Japanese girl......until she gets on stage as Su-Metal, then he whole aura changes and she becomes the queen goddess of Metal. Her control of the crowd, her famous death stares are all part of the act of being taken seriously as a metal goddess, but she does get silly as well, when the time is right. She is brilliant at all of her performances and is the main factor in the reason Babymetal was founded. She was THE singer they wanted for the band when it started in 2010, then they found Moa and Yui to fill out the rest of the group, as they really liked Suzuka as a mentor already in the same group they all started with, Sakura Gakuin.
Dont forget Su was in Karen girls and was a founding member of Sakura Gakuin .

This sounds like you found this analysis somewhere else by the way it was composed. The "girls" did not come up with any of this material. Their producer came up with the whole idea in 2010 and the girls had no experience with metal music. He's the one who deserves most of the credit. Most of these girl groups in Korea and Japan are put together by men with money and experience in the industry. The men who run these acts also make a lot more of the money than any of the women and they probably deserve it.
I recommend BabyMetal's PA-PA-YA (feat. F.HERO) (OFFICIAL) song, for sure you will like it !!

When this video was recorded Yui and Moa were 13 and Su was 15. They are amazing performers. Imagine inc. the company that owns Babymetal briefly released two performances-Tokyo Dome in 2016 and Wembley in 2016. Those performances were nothing less than amazing.
Su usually keeps her "game face" on during a performance but the first night of the Tokyo 2016 there is a moment that gobsmacks Su for about 3 seconds. The moment a show ends, as the performance ends, Su is suddenly all smiles and playful.
Pope Anthony Yui and Moa were both 14. Su turned 16 the day before this ‘Legend 1997’ concert, which took place December 21st, 2013.
That was actually in the end of IDZ during the Black Night, the second and final show. With her last "Dame" she closed a perfect show, ended an amazing two days event and concluded an outstanding World Tour, you definitely can tell they are all satisfied of their job, SU in particular is still possessed by the spirit of the Fox God 😏!

@@DeePal072 Red night, the first night, the neck braces came on just before The One, then were turned off. Halfway through the song the neck braces came back on and Su was stunned. Watch for it.

Good reaction ladies - and you got it right, this song is just a fun song about chocolate - they would really like some, but they're a bit worried about their weight - but it's chocolate and it would be so nice, so can they have a bit of chocolate please. It was the video that went viral and first really got them noticed - that was largely because of the shock factor when Yui and Moa start singing and not because it is their best song ... it really isn't (although it is still great fun when they play it live).
This show was called Legend 1997 because that was the year Su-metal was born - this was in December 2013 and it was the day after her 16th birthday.
As this was an official video it had the studio audio, which was a shame since they actually sound better live (especially Su-metal ... but you know that from the Road of Resistance video you saw - such a shame that was blocked, it has been happening a lot with that one lately even though it used to be safe).
I hope you do more Babymetal, every song is different, some are heavier, others - like Gimme Chocolate - are more 'poppy'.
A good one for you to react to that doesn't get blocked would be 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 - same show but with live audio and the Kami Band playing live on stage ... and it is different to both this one and to Road of Resistance.
Su-metal is kind of goofy off stage, but onstage her personality changes. She is famous for her death stares, and that's why she is called The Queen.
I also love how Moa cannot keep a serious face because of how much fun she is having and enjoying the crowd, especially the early days when it was all so new to them, like this one and Road of Resistance.

@@JGM0JGM Oh, I am aware, but she seems to have settled into it more is what I mean. I didn't mean to have it sound like I think she's changed, just that before it was obvious that she couldn't contain it and now it is more that she can, but more often chooses not to.
It's just an act. Never met any Japanese girl I would find to be "scary". It just looks cute. Joan Jett does a lot scarier death stare.

Yep Babymetal is always a lot of fun. Try not to move challenge. I have hell of respect for them. Imagine you are that young and perform in front of huge crowds! And the musicianship, dancing and singing is just unearthly! We just love our little human lightning bolts!
They can do that because they were performing in front of crowds since they were in elementary school. They did not always look this "perfect". It took years of practice, often in warehouse spaces. Actually, performing in front of a big crowd is not that intimidating if the crowd is cooperating with the concert.

'Gimme Chocolate!!' was the first BABYMETAL music video I ever saw, back in 2014.
I was a fan by the time the song ended.
They've been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce.
And with over 117 million views, it's their most popular video on UA-cam.
As far as choreography is concerned, the members of BABYMETAL work collaboratively with Mikiko, their choreographer.
In their early days, as they've mentioned in interviews, they would learn the choreography for a new song in a couple of lessons.
Now she has them listen to the music, and create their own movements and reactions to it.
Then she goes back to her studio and creates the final dance moves, incorporating their ideas.
Mikiko also does the choreography for the group Perfume, for Sakura Gakuin (the group where BABYMETAL originated), and for her own dance troupe elevenplay.

Great reaction as always girls, Babymetal is my favorite band, now i'd like you react another great songs by them like Megitsune official video, Karate, Pa pa ya, Shanti shanti shanti, Headbanger, Catch me if you can, Ijime dame zettai, and other great stuff, to be fair all their songs are great and different from each other, not a single song sounds like the others, believe me, as much as you get into the band the more you will love them and there is no point of return, i also want to recommend you some other of my favorite bands like Sabaton, Dio, King Diamond, Be'lakor, Suicidal angels, Judas priest, Obituary, Whiplash, Frozen Crown, all of them really great bands, i'll be waiting for your next reactions in the future, have success and stay safe.

I think you three would really enjoy Babymetal - Doki Doki Morning. It's their first official single if I'm not mistaken. The kawaii is off the charts in that video and I think you'll love it. It's a really fun and happy song.

Babymetal is a great rabbit hole. Honestly they are so musically diverse and their live versions are almost always the way to listen to them.
The Doki Doki Morning music video was their pilot song back when Su was 14 and the Moa/Yui were 12. You'll see how they basically spawned a genre. Then when you hear their new stuff (eg Pa Pa Ya or Shanti Shanti or BxMxC) you'll see how far they've come.

If you do another babymetal video I highly recommend a live show again. If you liked road of resistance, Headbanger from legend 1997 and Ijime Dame Zettai from sonisphere 2014 are both great, with the latter being about ending bullying forever
Most of the lyrics to BABYMETAL songs are pretty juvenile but that's their thing. It's just another version of the TV kids shows they did in Japan, with a metal backing band.

It's really kawaii. Yes, yes it is! Anyways, was the video skipping or was that just me? Oh, a good live performance to watch would be Ijime, Dame, Zettai. Just try to find one from 2016 or earlier and with The Kami Band. Keep up the good videos!

2020 is the 10th anniversary for Babymetal, Su is 22 and Moa is 20 (21 in July). I'll let you do the math as to their age when Babymetal debuted. They have performed on professionally on stage from about the age of 6 yo or earlier. Their concerts run about an hour to an hour and a half and they maintain hat level of pace for almost the entire concert. There is physical fitness and then there is what ever Su and Moa are.

No, these days, they are part of a 2 or 3 band set and their time on stage is more like 45 minutes. The backing band might perform longer but not the 3 women. I would rate their physical fitness about the normal level you will see with college cheerleaders during a football or basketball game. If you take away the fancy techno effects and just watch them do their act with a simple band it gives you and honest view of what they are really doing. It's still good but it's not as great as people try to portray it. People see what they want to see.

The girls in BABYMETAL really don't dance any harder than most people do in a cheerleading squad for football games. People just think they do when they get caught up in the show. Take away the music and the fancy techno effects and they look very human like the rest of us.
Did you know girls know the "fox god" hand sign they do was a mistake? According to the story, they had never heard of heavy metal before. So when the producers were showing them metal, they showed them a bunch of Dio videos. They were told don't smile and do the "devil horns" Dio always does. Well they didn't get it, so rather than the devil horns they did what they do now by mistake and the producers ran with it.
I did exactly the same hand gesture when I was kid in the early 1970s. It's a "jackyl" symbol. Ancient Egyptian art. Got that from watching old "Mummy" horror movies in black and white from the 1950s.

Also maybe check out the groups that the girls were in before Baby Metal. Suzuka was in Karen Girls ( a group made just for an anime) before joining the Idol Group Sakura Gakuin, wich Yui and Moa were also part of. Baby Metal was a side Project (or "club" as the Idol Group calls it) of Sakura Gakuin. These are typical Japanese Idol Groups but not as big as the massive AKB48 (wich litraly is massive as it has over 100 members devided into teams, this allows them to Play Shows all at once in different parts of Japan.)
In other words, all of these groups were manufactured by producers, not by themselves. You forgot to mention that the failure rate of girls trying to get jobs in these groups is very high and very few of them ever get rich doing this job. It's all mostly fantasy and illusion. In contrast, most musical groups in America form completely of their own accord and make all their own material. I also notice so much AMERICAN influence in Babymetal songs. More so than most people recognize. The same is true for K-Pop groups and J-Pop groups.

Their real early concerts were actually on small stages in front of small crowds with a simple little band. Nobody really becomes popular overnight.
