As for the “futuristic ancient civilization” the original story for MH is that it’s a future version of earth. Monsters such as Kushala and Fatalas existed during the fall of man, an event possibly spearheaded by Fatalas that nearly wiped out humanity. The last clinging peoples would develop into the races in MH and while not much is publicly known the people are still wary about expanding too far beyond their settlements. While the Hunters are called to keep balance in check the rules of the guild prohibit over-hunting and any unsanctioned hunts are considered poaching. The thing that caught my attention is that this is the ONLY reveal trailer for a mainline Monster Hunter game (besides Sunbreak, but I wouldn't count it because it's just a teaser for Malzeno) since the original MH1 which doesn't contain Proof of a Hero. My theory is that maybe we will not be playing as Hunters as we're used to (read as: associated with the Hunters' Guild and the New World's expeditionary team), but perhaps some sort of nomadic hunters, helping defend and keep the peace in the native villages of the uncharted New World. Judging by how the main character carries a slinger and a Scoutfly container (and I'm sure there will be Palicos), I'm sure there's some overlap, but I love the idea of not playing as a traditional Hunter... and would line up with the tribal motives in the logo, which seem a bit Mesoamerican, and Rise - where yes, you are with the Hunters' Guild... but first of all, you are Kamura's best hunter.
The rotten vale gave me "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" vibes, and yet again I feel the same going on here with Wilds, especially from tracks like "Annihilation of Pejite". Excited to hear more from you on this new entry in the future!
You are spot on, the Nausicaa influence in Monster Hunter is super strong, it is even more apparent in gen 1 and 2. The concept art from this time always fascinated me as Nausicaa is one of my favorite movies and manga. Someone also pointed out the mount is also a concept from earlier games. Which signals me Capcom might be revisiting old concepts.
LOVE that you’re covering this!!! You have such a rich and captivating way of taking about the games you love! Was SO excited to see you post this and hear your thoughts!
Great points about the potential ancient civilization. From your analysis, I get the feeling of there being some kind of old vs new theme. With the synth music at the beginning being a clear statement of this is new and different followed by the "return to the roots" approach at the end. This is mirrored in the logo with the top being tribal and the bottom being high tech.
I think the ancient advanced civilization has always been a background element in monster hunter games. I'd be really interested to see them actually do something significant with that idea.
This trailer/main theme sounded incredible. I hope I'm not harping, but it would be great to hear your insight about Namielle or Lagiacrus' theme - Tremble of the Sea and Land. Or even Vaal Hazak - basically any monster that looks like a fish.
Great video as always! I’m super hyped for Wilds!! There is no rain even though thunder is striking hard. Comparing the environments of Iceborne and Rise, this dry environment and inorganic synth sounds, I wonder if water would be some kind of important factor. I was expecting you to mention Kokoto Chord. I was so excited when you expressed it for the first time in the past video. The feeling of a sudden shadow cast over the nostalgic or heroic vibes always gives me goosebumps. Thanks for the video, Davi!
Jaja, I knew the next video was about this trailer. Eh, I have never played a monster hunter game (I don't think it is my type of game), but I really enjoyed your vods about generations. Yeah, the bottom of the logo seems futuristic and makes sense with the synth and what you said. The second part is very epic, like for encouraging to battle, and the part that you pointed out which is at the end reminds of the areas' openings of MH generations in your vods, which are very cinematic. Today's recommendation: Triangle from Shapez (a cool and chill factory game); the OST in general is very good for the context of the game. Nothing else, Adiós!
an MH video by Davi!! it's been too long, I've never clicked on a video faster in my life... that aside tho this is a great analysis, even outside of the music related observations you made there a lot of things you pointed out that I've personally missed and I've never seen anyone else talk about either great video as always.
In basically every monster hunter game there are hints an ancient civilization that seemed to have collapsed because they broke the balance with nature. In fact, the whole purpose of the hunter’s guild is to make sure that doesn’t happen again. However, this crucial lore has never really been explored beyond just a couple hints. Maybe MHWilds change that?
So, I think we can assume Frontier cannon due to flavor text in Rise/Sunbreak. And if that's the case, we actually know a little bit about the ancient civilization. One being that they definitely enslaved monsters and used them to guard their towers. Another being that they had achieved what was known as the "Transcend State" which made hunters stronger and more durable and able to achieve feats like temporarily freezing a monster solid with ice. There's several other things, but Frontier did touch a bit on the lore here and there. I really hope Wilds confirms them as 100% cannon and expands on the lore
I think it's to portray something we aren't used to from Monster Hunter. Which is weather that effects your situational combat interaction with the ecology of the map. On a massive scale map like we've never seen before with zero barriers. A true open "world" Monster Hunter experience.
I was so excited to see your take of this new video and take on Monster Hunter. I am relatively new in the series (4th/5th gen exploring new and older generations personally as well as spin-offs, my introduction to MH was Stories, and Red Khezu is still my favorite monster). That being said I love how much detail you point into each aspect of the musical shifts in this trailer and I love listening to your honest takes on things. I am a Souls Series gamer with MH always on the mind too. These are the games that keep me up at night both in enemy design, world design but also musical score and how it impacts me as a non-musically educated person until I dabbled in music with your videos, they were the only videos that I felt I connected with on the musical topic of gaming. I wish I had a music teacher like you, and hope my child has someone like you teaching her music classes down the road. She has told me music is her favorite special elective.
I wonder if we'll be doing a deep dive into the lost ancient civilization where the designs for many of the hunting guilds technology comes from. Also really cool, I didn't catch the Stars at Our Backs motif.
let Davi cook, he might be on to something looking at the MHWorld announcement trailer, it was mainly quiet letting the nature fill the silence, then using trumpet, piano and some strings to make up the main theme.
I just realize thanks to you why i didnt think this was monster hunter, i was sleepy too but that isnt an excuse for me i think. The music... the music, its true, is so different... it reminds of breath of the wild and attack on titan music with the little electronic. 1:50 sounds like what Hiroyuki sawano would compose for example, a synth start and maybe in the middle too.
Ten seconds in the video and I already know your analysis is gonna be something different. I have no idea what will come out of your vid, if I'll like it or not, but hey good job. First person to value MH music this much, and I didn't know I needed this❤

It is very interesting, that rotten vale theme was well spotted, there’s been a lot of sci fi nods in the series which kinda says it’s present in the world of monster hunter, I guess it’s always been up to us too interpret something as an otherworldly being, like shara ishvalda, probably to my knowledge the most alien monster I’ve come across, specifically because of its beams not really being anything elemental, just energy, it’s exciting too think what true final encounter they have in the works😄✌🏼
Just an additional Info on the topic of Rise not having an main theme. Capcom always works on two MH Games at once. An main line Game and a spinoff. Spinoffs offen have another composer and programmers. Rise was a spinnoff. Wilds is a main line game. The logo shows that. 6 dragon heads = mh6 (world had 5 in the logo etc.)
Spin off is the wrong word. Rise and the portable games are still part of the main series of games. It's just that within the main series you have the numbered titles and the portable titles. Ironically, Capcom internally refers to expansions (MH3U, MH4U, ICEBORNE, SUNBREAK) as spin offs, in addition to games such as frontier, online, and explore. Its a bit confusing to look into.
Loved your insight into the music and the connection to the trailer. To me… the beginning part sounds mysterious and wild and it fits well with the hunter running away from this “mystery”. I hope I see more videos about the game as it slowly releases more teasers or trailers 👍🏾.
I like this channel. In Korea, it's hard to find channels that share game music and emotions. I'm especially looking forward to Monster Hunter because it's a special game to me 🥰
When i first watched the trailer I just kept thinking ''this music gives me monster hunter feeling'' I'm soo hyped !!! also I don't know if you will see this, but I'd like to see you react to GOW 2018 main theme, it's incredible and i really like this saga; you can even find english lyrics that really adds to the greatness of this song
The beginning music reminds me so much of the soundtrack in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. It's got that same 80s, post-apocalyptic electronic vibe to.
At 8:24, where that symbol comes up again, there's also the beast and rider coming over the hill at the bottom left corner, that match up with the symbol above it to the right. I would say that that symbol could definitely be suggesting that that rider and his mount MAY have been either from the past, or from the future, or (as you mentioned), perhaps from another world or dimension. Very interesting. I don't know anything about the previous version (versions?) of the game, but THIS looks quite interesting to me.
The leitmotif carried over from World's Stars At Our Backs sounds like Just Around The Riverbend from Pocahontas, which is strangely fitting for exploring the new world
That structure at the end of the trailer kinda looks like a massive fossilized or weathered egg or like some kind of attack or weapon blasted a hole into a mountain, changing it into that weird-looking structure.
I saw some other UA-camr (don't remember who) talking about the rotten vale and the dalamadur corpses there; of course linking this to the Wilds trailer and logo. This ties very well together to your point about the synth! Maybe this is a reference to the dalamadur as well?
5:15 I definitely think youre onto something here bcuz if you go to the official website of Monster Hunter Wilds. Theres an animations that plays focusing on that specific rock structure and whats even more interesting is that it first shows the rock charged and surrounded by lightning as if its some sort of portal.
The electronics sounds represent the fact were going to be learning about the ancient civilisation i think. The armor that the ancient civilisation in monster hunter used according to monster hunter world looks super futuristic almost gundam like
it would be awesome if the theme of the boss elder dragons in MH6 has synthwave elements in it and it's possible that the went for the high tech ancient civilisation because we know there's ancient civilisation in MH, maybe even multiple ones, so it would be really cool if they are going to develop this part of the MH lore in this game
I dunno if you noticed too on this. But other than having an omage to the main theme, we can hear even bits from - also world - but it's a mh legendary ost, "Proof of an hero".... Like the start of the main theme for wilds it's almost identical to the start of the climax part for proof of a hero. And then some other parts from that ost.... Like the only difference is that the wilds one, is more extended.. More full... Damn this is a amazing.
I have no doubt in my mind that the second piece is Wilds main theme, which is a more adventurous sounding "Stars At Our Backs". The first piece sounds like a phase 2 Mohran fight, with its cadence and urgency, and I can imagine a rearranged "Proof Of A Hero" breaking through in the lull when you get a Dragonator shot in. The trailer reminds me of Portable 3rd in its structure. Im hyped all the same!
i could be crazy but now that you showed the rotten vale music it has a similar rhythmtic pattern and building with synth sounds to this trilaer ,this could mean we are in the past before it became the rotten vale, so we may potientiall see that skelton alive in this game thats a exciting prospect! if that theory is viable of course.
I love how new yet old it feels. You can tell the MH team knows what their franchise was and would be since the begining! the evolution of the games is linear and pretty amazing! And that's probably why the MH team never disapoints: their vision for their games is cristal clear!
I totally agree the synth are surely meant to call back to the electric theme of this new map which seems to attract a lot of lightings. And also to the unknown/strange lands vibes of this place
Imagine an ACTUAL open world for monster hunter where Monsters just attack you even if you try to run away so it's a Life or Death situation in every encounter.
Every now and then they do "remaster" the main theme (example is MH Generations). Great video by the way, I'm glad I found out your channel thanks to Monster Hunter
Am I the only one who hears some bits of proof of a hero? Right at the beginning of the final part and then after the "stars at our back reference". Perhaps I'm just deluding myself because I desperately wanted to hear proof of a hero in the new MH trailer lol, but now I can't unhear it.
The game logo certainly has a double nature in it, tribal and futuristic, it is worth noting that from the middle up are the tribal elements, as if alluding to the fact that what is obvious is on the surface, what we have always seen from MH, while from the middle down there are futuristic patterns which indicate that this is hidden, possibly underground, like the buried ruins of something that once was. That's what I see, I am a graphic designer and I dedicate myself to branding, the logo also shows these rings that seem to be a representation of these ringed structures scattered around the world. It seems to me that we will explore a world full of ancient mysteries, I hope to see the monster called "Equal Dragon Weapon", which is made of other monsters parts, like a Frankenstein.
....oh fuck you're right......... Are we *finally* getting some significant Ancient Civilization lore?!?! God I've been waiting for that since I first got into the series....
Thank you so much for this video, your observations were fascinating; the electronic sounds, chords and theme time signature! I also felt the same on my first watch, I was caught off guard by the choices of instruments, it honestly felt Serious and Unknown, like we're dealing with an elder dragon in the shadows. And then boom, such a hopeful, grandiose, happy theme. Peak Monster Hunter. As a veteran hunter that started with MHtri (then 3u) and MHFU, this theme makes me burst in happy tear. I don't know if you'd hear my plea but....do you have the time & envy to transcribe the theme? I can't read sheet music but I learn melodies on the piano via Synthesia videos instead. I'm just...dying to listen to the theme on repeat without the background noises of the teaser, and even better if I can learn it! I know there's a bit of it in the video, so Imma have fun with that, but the entire teaser theme would be EPIC :D. Absolutely no worries if not, it's understandable :) I could definitely get the main melody by ear, but not all the chords haha I will still try, it's a good exercise! (I should really try to learn, I do want to get more serious about playing and composing. It's just a hobby for fun but I want to get better) Anyway, I'm so glad youtube recommended your channel, immediately subbed!
I feel like the final musical part of MH Wilds trailer is supposed to be a new "Proof of Hero" like what did MHdos main theme did. After all, MH Wilds seems to be to World what was MHdos to MH1
What if that rolling synth at the start is part of the theme for the final boss of Wilds and the boss is the cause of the storms. It does roll in at the start like the storm rolls into the location. Seems to me like either this is another extremely alien to the hunter final boss or that something weird is going on again and the wildlife is going to be doing some funky stuff.
Nice job pointing out the music. I’m curious because when I’m watching the trailer with you pointing out the music change I find that the alien tone seems to be linked to the sand storm itself. There was the build up at the start but really comes out when we see the storm. It then changes to the upbeat Monster Hunter style music when the storm burst and clears out the remnants of the sandstorm.
Yooo if they’re very intentionally paying homage to Tri and World, we MIGHT just get underwater battles back but within the new world! That and the reflective water-like logo just keep dropping hints towards that direction from my pov! 🤞
Monster Hunter has always used worldbuilding and a sort of environmental mis-en-scene to impress this feeling of time and scale by teasing this ancient civilisation that through war and hubris brought themselves to total collapse leading to the setting where hunters need to live as part of the ecosystem rather than separate to it and while i think they have in the past always wanted it to stay as a undefined background the shift with World to a greater story focus might imply they are interested in bringing that worldbuilding more to the forefront. Personally the intro stuff gave me some Metal Gear Solid V vibes. Something suggesting isolation in a local where the player character is outgunned and on the defensive which is kind of the opposite of modern monster hunters vibe. Its going to be interesting to see what tonal shifts the final product brings to the series.
good catch with the futuristic touch in the logo and the music. watching the trailer i didn't catch it, but i really seems out of place with the wilderness theme they have going on.
the first weird bit of music makes me think of stuff like ancient civilizations magical technology, like in a zelda or ghibli way. no wait now that i say ghibli it makes me think of nausica, but we do have crazy tech from ancient civilizations in that movie edit: i commented too fast xD i see we were thinking the same!!

Nothing else, Adiós!
Ansioso pelas análises das musicas quando o jogo sair! Ótimo vídeo como sempre, Davi!
an MH video by Davi!! it's been too long, I've never clicked on a video faster in my life... that aside tho this is a great analysis, even outside of the music related observations you made there a lot of things you pointed out that I've personally missed and I've never seen anyone else talk about either
great video as always.
Right off the bat the fact you mentioned the rotten vale is so cool to me because i got the exact same vibe
Dude I love your enthusiasm man
I almost forgot about the ancient civilization of Monster Hunter, very very possible we will be going the Ancient route.
I think there might be remnants of an ancient civilization underground that used the lightning as a power source.
I think it's to portray something we aren't used to from Monster Hunter. Which is weather that effects your situational combat interaction with the ecology of the map. On a massive scale map like we've never seen before with zero barriers. A true open "world" Monster Hunter experience.
absolutely amazing work with that thumbnail xD
you really caught the current state of monster hunter youtube xD
I’ve been waiting for this video!
I wonder if we'll be doing a deep dive into the lost ancient civilization where the designs for many of the hunting guilds technology comes from. Also really cool, I didn't catch the Stars at Our Backs motif.
I got goosebumbs when you played the accords of the Wilds theme. :D I love your videos!
I like your analysis videos, thank you
Glad you like them!
let Davi cook, he might be on to something
looking at the MHWorld announcement trailer, it was mainly quiet letting the nature fill the silence, then using trumpet, piano and some strings to make up the main theme.
First person to value MH music this much, and I didn't know I needed this❤
Welcome!
Finally! I wasn't finding any videos on the song but I love this!
The theme is likely a new land theme, new monster theme or perhaps the theme of the storm itself. I doubt they wanted to play something similar to what we’ve heard before to drag out the suspense of “What game could this be?”
The wind instruments are what lead me to believe this could be the theme of the storm itself. Similar to how a big monster theme takes over when the fight starts the Storms theme may take over when it either is a feature of the hunt chosen or perhaps even a random occurrence.
This is to avoid stoking the ire that brought down humanity once before.
The “4 hunter limit” was due to system limitations, but the in-game reason is because it’s considered bad luck.
I have been waiting for your response on this teaser. I thought the music sounded so strange.
When the new Monster Hunter releases, It gonna be WILD!
Great video as always!
2025 is sooooo far
This little teaser of the main theme has become my favorite in the series.
Loved your insight into the music and the connection to the trailer. To me… the beginning part sounds mysterious and wild and it fits well with the hunter running away from this “mystery”. I hope I see more videos about the game as it slowly releases more teasers or trailers 👍🏾.
When the screen fades to black at the end, it's almost like a leitmotif of or allusion to Proof of a Hero, too.
Great catch! The only thing I noticed myself was the last part of the music kind of reminds me of Proof of a Hero a bit.
That main theme is such an epic piece of music. I can't wait to hear that in-game, really feels like it could make you feel like a hero
I like this channel. In Korea, it's hard to find channels that share game music and emotions.
I'm especially looking forward to Monster Hunter because it's a special game to me 🥰
Glad to know you like it!
"Do you remember the rotten vale from monster hunter world?" As if I could forget one of the best tracks Capcom's team ever made.
That first note being that digital synth bass kind of stab really pushes that alien kind of vibe.
The armor that the ancient civilisation in monster hunter used according to monster hunter world looks super futuristic almost gundam like
it would be awesome if the theme of the boss elder dragons in MH6 has synthwave elements in it
and it's possible that the went for the high tech ancient civilisation because we know there's ancient civilisation in MH, maybe even multiple ones, so it would be really cool if they are going to develop this part of the MH lore in this game
I dunno if you noticed too on this. But other than having an omage to the main theme, we can hear even bits from - also world - but it's a mh legendary ost, "Proof of an hero".... Like the start of the main theme for wilds it's almost identical to the start of the climax part for proof of a hero. And then
some other parts from that ost.... Like the only difference is that the wilds one, is more extended.. More full... Damn this is a amazing.
Man your analisys is perfect
Never been so hyped in my entire life, and the music in the trailer did 70% of the work
I have no doubt in my mind that the second piece is Wilds main theme, which is a more adventurous sounding "Stars At Our Backs".
I knew it, the hunter is being chased and we will see the monster during the actual reveal.
I hope we finally get something about the ancient civilization. Maybe we'll finally return to the tower?
Rotten Veil' theme has always reminded me of Final Fantasy for some reason
Absolutely no worries if not, it's understandable :)
I could definitely get the main melody by ear, but not all the chords haha I will still try, it's a good exercise! (I should really try to learn, I do want to get more serious about playing and composing. It's just a hobby for fun but I want to get better)
Anyway, I'm so glad youtube recommended your channel, immediately subbed!
Welcome!
God the MHTri theme sent me back to the past for a moment 🥹
I'm so hyped for this game! ☺️
Hey gore, how is it goin
Mano, descobri que vc é brasileiro pelo seu sotaque e pelo sobre do canal. Legal demais ver brasileiros com um grande público estrangeiro
The bottom part is also the circle that resembles a "6" do to it being the 6th main MH.
No it's actually a cleff
Damn didn't notice the small Driven by the Stars part :o
No matter how good is the trailer or music, it wouldnt be a MH trailer without our boi, king of the skies casually gliding into the view...
That music right at the start made me think of Nausicaa of the valley of the wind.
I feel like the final musical part of MH Wilds trailer is supposed to be a new "Proof of Hero" like what did MHdos main theme did. After all, MH Wilds seems to be to World what was MHdos to MH1
great breakdown and good job on explaining it! even a complete tone deaf like me saw what you are trying to explain👍
Always appreciate your work for the games i like davi u are great.
What if that rolling synth at the start is part of the theme for the final boss of Wilds and the boss is the cause of the storms.
It does roll in at the start like the storm rolls into the location. Seems to me like either this is another extremely alien to the hunter final boss or that something weird is going on again and the wildlife is going to be doing some funky stuff.
the tune at the end reminds me of monster 4u, its main theme
At about 8:10 there is a sound that is oddly like a roar. I'll speculate that's what the flagship sounds like
Nice job pointing out the music.
Honestly wouldn't have noticed this!
Also, please do Coalescence from Risk of Rain!
the opening reminds me of Mass Effect!
excellent analysis btw... you earned another fan!
The circles on the logo match the ruinic sphere. I'm assuming a massive collosal dragon that is of mountains and flies
There is definitely a technologically advanced ancient civilisation in the Monster Hunter story. I had the same feeling when i saw the trailer.
There already is ... Equal dragon weapon
Do I remember Rotten Vale :P ? Davi I fing love that theme, it's my fav from MH World, and it represents my fav monster, good boy Clifford!
Eres la primera persona que veo analizqndo la música de MH, gran trabajo
The initial part of the song it's also the initial part of gaismagorm theme
good catch with the futuristic touch in the logo and the music. watching the trailer i didn't catch it, but i really seems out of place with the wilderness theme they have going on.
the first weird bit of music makes me think of stuff like ancient civilizations magical technology, like in a zelda or ghibli way. no wait now that i say ghibli it makes me think of nausica, but we do have crazy tech from ancient civilizations in that movie
edit: i commented too fast xD i see we were thinking the same!!
