it’s such a simple idea, but they executed it perfectly by actively encouraging the player’s full freedom. You want to create automatic farms? Alright, we’ll add redstone. You want to play with your friends? Okay, we’ll let you make your own servers and give you a menu to join them from
@@emeraldfinder5 because it was indie, the dude actually had passion for what he did and he did it for the players, microsoft did a decent job still after acquiring but they were scared to update it for like 5 years.
Well, I had written a comment using this (my personal) channel, but I had added a link to my Grandma's Gone Gaming channel (for my very first Minecraft series that was why I made that channel in the first place). That comment disappeared (sigh). I agreed with you (and still do), David about the nostalgia, and I love how you compared the different ways the chords were used. I had mentioned that I no longer play with the music turned on, because I battle narcolepsy (the tendency to fall asleep all of a sudden, even in the middle of a sentence, sometimes. It doesn't bother me very much any longer, but there have times, when I was still leaving the music on (because I LOVE the Minecraft music), that I would be playing, and then suddenly wake up to find myself either about ready to walk off a cliff with no water at the bottom of the huge fall, or I'd be standing in front of a wall, running, and running, and running, and going nowhere. I have all the OTHER sounds on, but the music (especially Sweden, which is so very lovely), tends to knock me out pretty quickly, so I finally just turned off the music in the game. C418 (Daniel Rosenfeld) did a WONDERFUL job with MC's music, and I miss it. Still...I'd rather play the game and not experience death by falling, and lose all of my precious inventory because I didn't wake up within five minutes of walking off a cliff! 😀 Thanks for your lovely commentary, Davi. I really enjoyed it.
For me, Sweden tells an amazing story. It starts with the character in a session of bittersweet nostalgia, slowly fading you into their story. Then, when the grand part comes, the character thinks sincerely something along the lines of, "I miss those days... But, what if... What if I could make those days, these days?" Then, when the pizzicato strings start, they start to make plans. Then, when the main, previously nostalgic piano comes back, it now has a new meaning. As the song continues to rise, It's giving them determination. Then, the song fades back out. Just as you listened into their story at the beginning, you are slowly leaving it. Honestly, for me, the change in tone is so palpable and incredible. C418, I believe, is a literal musical genius. I cannot recommend listening to more of their music enough. Like another person said, Aria Math!!! That song often literally moves me to tears when I listen to it deeply!!
I miss playing Minecraft. I haven't played since my grandson was 16, about 10 years ago. He used to come to my rescue whenever I panicked, even when it interrupted his own game. I was forever getting lost somehow. But finally learned to master the map.
Loved this commentary, Davi (in all three of my guises). Thank you! 😀 One thing that it did, was make me go back to my 2016 very first video uploads, which I hadn't done in a long time! I have playlists on this (Grandma's Gone Gaming) channel from several different games. Most of them are from Minecraft challenges one one type or another. Some are self-imposed challenges. There are three other challenges that I have played for years (only one is still running -- Minecraft Hardcore Challenge). It's not like it used to be, though, when Michael Deering (its inventor) was still running it. I haven't been playing any challenges for a while, but I did last month's and completed it in good shape, but after searching with the monthly search shortcut that was given, I could not find even ONE more player who had uploaded anything for the March 2024 challenge! What a shame! So then I was trying to work through the April challenge, but it is making use of a modded world gen, which insists on freezing my game up into little spurts, when combined with my Action recording software. So much for that one! It felt good to come in here today, and here you talking about he original music for the game. I'm so glad that "Sweden" won the newest poll! If any one MIGHT want to see any of my old game challenge uploads, there are a ton of playlists that you can check out on the channel. My very first one involved creating TINY villages in the brand new (at the time) tiny biomes turned on. There's a good-sized playlist that showcases an array of "made-from-scratch" mini-villages I created as a personal challenge...way back in 2016. Thanks again, Davi, for your really wonderful commentary on the Sweden song written by Daniel Rosenfeld. 🥰
As someone who've beeing playing this game for more than 10 years this seeing you analise my favorite music from my favorite game brings me such joy, Im so happy that you analised Sweeden!
Daamn, i wasn't expecting this one. Indeed, Minecraft's music is truly something else. This game means a lot to me, its part of my childhood... Im glad you gave it the attention it deserves. 💖 Lastly, i'd like to tell you of a soulslike that's coming out in August, its name is Enotria: The Last Song. Have you checked it out? Its a soulslike set in a fantasy Italy, in which you play as the Maskless One, a maskless puppet in a world of unwilling actors, since the world itself has been conquered by the Canovaccio. The devs, which are also italian, have said this is a "summer soulslike" since its ambience is a lot more brighter compared to the usual soulslikes, yet still dark in some ways :) If you haven't checked the game's latest trailer, please do! ITS EPIC ASF, AND THE MUSIC IS ALREADY A MASTERPIECE AND HITS HARD ASF (Especially for me, since im italian, lmao) Anyways, here's the trailer, i hope you enjoy it! And have a great time! ua-cam.com/video/k6_mWMh6zjQ/v-deo.html

I would love to see you react to some Pokemon themes! Some ones i recommend are "Dialga's Fight To The Finish" "Ultra Necrozma Theme" "VS Ho-oh" specifically the one from Heartgold/Soulsilver "Battle Tower battle theme" "Decisive Battle VS N"
I only started playing Minecraft in early 2022, you know you have an amazing soundtrack on your hands when it makes listeners feel nostalgia before they’ve even played the game 😅
Man I loved this video, so much nostalgia that was incredible thank you davi I would really like to see you react to god of war 2018/ragnarök main theme, such amazing soundtracks
@GrandmasGotGraceLW lol yes... love watching Davi... he is so sweet. Was watching him play the game yesterday and a noticed popped up and Dan was playing a game... of course told us not to not to watch it LOL so had Davi on the television and Dan on my phone LOL hope you're well and doing great ... enjoy running into people I have met before... 😁👍
Well that was great. Put me in a place of ease. I’d love to see your analysis of The Elemental Stars from the Golden Sun series. Interesting subdivisions and progression.
Such a beautiful contrast to a game that can be very stressful and nauseating! I think this is what keeps the player going, it's so relaxing, no wonder people play it for hours. The beauty in the music really reflects the freedom of the game.
No offense to Lena Raine, I absolutely adore the music she's done for Minecraft but C418's music IS Minecraft. The feelings his music captures aren't ones you'll find very often and they perfectly reflect the moods Minecraft can put you in
"It's still happy, it's still positive, but there's a little sadness to it." I seem to be in the minority, but I've always felt the same about the music in Kirby games. Like it's just a patina of cute slapped over a deep sorrow.
I think everybody knows the effect the song has, especially on those who have played a long time ago, so it's very nice to see somebody explain why in a more concrete fashion (which I like :])
Hi Davi! Suggestion: Para un Mártir del Compas (Blasphemous). Video: Good video, I have played Minecraft once, a long time ago, but I don't remember this track, tbf I don't remember any Minecraft track but I think I remember something different to this. Obviously it seems nostalgic, I was falling asleep but well jajaja I just listened to another track with that nostalgic feeling after watching the video to activate myself. That's it. ¡Adiós Davi!
Hey Davi, love your videos! I watched a good portion of your ULTRAKILL soundtrack stream a while back and, as someone who absolutely adores ULTRAKILL, I would love to see you break down some of the songs in more detail! My recommendations are Death of God's Will, Altars of Apostasy, Order and War. Looking forward to any future uploads!
Davi, please do the slave Knight Gael ost, he is the last boss from the last dark souls 3 dlc, which make him the last boss of the franchise! His ost has elements of the game main theme, you’re gonna remember from the analysis that you make, I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy it!
I recommend that you check out the soundtrack from the legend of spyro dawn of the dragon it is from 2008 and some of the tracks are among my absolute favourites I particularly like valley of avalar.
i have a stong for you to review. it has quite the thing going for it and I wasn't to see your opinion going for it. its All Stars from Mario's madness V2
You gotta React to Listen to the Cries of the Planet Battle edit From Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! Or just do the new One-Winged Angel Reborn From the same game. OR! Do the main Theme (towards mt nibel) Beautiful Orchestral arrangement of the main theme!
That would be interesting! My 19-year-old grandson plays Terraria a lot, still. I got him hooked on it, when it first came out, then I quit playing, years ago, and he's still hooked. I'll ask him if he has a favorite track that I could enter into net month's poll.
Anyone that's played this game was just transported back to a happier time and place.
C418's music is such a vibe.
Agreed! 😀
Remember, they also did cookie clicker’s soundtrack!
His non-video game music is so underrated, excursions is one of my favorite albums
Davi actually did a Minecraft music video? This was a pleasant suprise.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Oh my god, Davi, PLEASE do aria math!
YEEEESSSSS
It's my favorite! I'll def what it!
Agree
Please
Yess please

bro, what did I do to you, I feel attacked
That's the name of this song... 😢
this actually brought a tear to my eye
Sweden always filled me with such nostalgia and melancholy at the same time..!
Minecraft genuinely has some of the best music in video games, my favourites not even being in the game itself
He should listen to The End
I love how Sweden can be heard at the end or that track.
Minecraft is one of the few perfect executions of a plan for a game ever.
it’s such a simple idea, but they executed it perfectly by actively encouraging the player’s full freedom. You want to create automatic farms? Alright, we’ll add redstone. You want to play with your friends? Okay, we’ll let you make your own servers and give you a menu to join them from

Literal chills, this song was my childhood.
Minecraft music is truly special...
I can count in my hands the number of games that has an soundtrack as impactful as this one...
I can count on one finger.

I don't like Minecraft at all, but if it inspired anything in Breath of the Wild, it did it better. I don't even think about the sound track in BOTW.
