They never understood on Earth, but once in the spiritual realm, it becomes unbearably true and impossible to argue against
Spot on, people stumble on the reality of hell but it’s a testament to how little we think of sin and Gods righteousness. Even as a Christian I’m taken back when I question if it excessive, but that’s the flesh it lies just like the enemy.
If you don't know how holy "he" is then how can you even presume "he" is holy? If he's beyond comprehension then why the claims that state a comprehension. If no one can know the mind of Yahweh and his way above ours then it seems you likely have no clue about this deity you worship blindly. I to was a walking contradiction just as that mythical man made god. But then again, he could be real and as vague and confusing as it seems. If that's the case, then I suggest he take a basic level one class in communication. (Which he should already know perfectly).
It’s true God and his holiness is beyond our human comprehension. But he has revealed himself through his word. Any claim we can make is what God himself has already told us.
“Hail Satan” was Josh’s was of acting out against his own feelings. He had a seed planted tonight. It was apparent he didn’t feel comfortable realizing the absurdity of his world view. Pray for Josh
I think he was not comfortable Not getting heard. When he tried to explain his Position He was getting cut everytime . So I'm not sure he actually got to understand The absurdity of his position . It goes like this : Morality It's just a way of making Sure there is less suffering.. we agreed on the morals we want to Follow as a group of people . The individual will choose the path of least suffering by not going against the crowd. It actually is quite consistent. The absurdity is here: following that logic, it shows how necessary hell is. It is God showing you the way of least suffering is to follow His morals because he deals the most pain. He is the strongest. Telling us is merciful. Still believing the devil lie that hell cannot exist, he left reaffirming his allegiance to the one he sees as strongest. Sad
@a normal everyday Spider He claims to be an atheist, but who knows whats really in his heart. Anyways, why would he even make that "joke"? What did Jeff say that was even remotely close to the effect of Josh being a satan worshipper?
a normal everyday Spider just because you don’t claim to be a satanist, doesn’t mean Satan hasn’t invaded your thoughts and beliefs. Regardless of wether he believes in God, or Satan, if they do in fact exist than they can affect his thoughts and beliefs, whether he believes in them or not
What is the truth though? I don't believe in eternal torment either... I haven't been convinced about it. I believe scripture that says the lost perish, become as ash, consume away as the fat of lambs, body and soul will be destroyed in hell, and hell itself will be destroyed in the lake of fire. Will there be some torment? Yes, but then it will end for all eternity. But from someone else's perspective, I may not be saved though if I'm supposed to have a revelation about God's love where I am so in love with God that I am okay with people burning for eternity. Instead I think Jesus came to save us from death itself. The opposite of eternal life is eternal death, and yes, that is eternal separation from God, from life... It is nothingness, nonexistence, and from a Creator, the source of life, that isn't what he would want right? I don't think the opposite of eternal life is eternal torment. And I can't be guilt tripped about sin either as if that is the reason I don't believe in eternal torment... Because I have seen progress in my life, and I have tried both routes where I try to make my own effort not to sin, and also just wait for Jesus to convict me and not worry about whether every single choice I make is right. Because intent matters... people lied in the bible in order to save the life of someone else... And people lied to secretly keep money for themselves and they wouldn't repent and were struck dead... There is a difference.
@@peachbun but why would a just God force you to be with Him, when you don't want to be with Him at all. Hell separation from God, which is your choice. An all loving God didn't force Adam and Eve to sin, yet they did. We have free will that is ours, and our choice is what determines to be with Him or Not. And the bible says the second death is them being cast into the lake of fire, it is forever and ever, Revelation 20:14 KJV.
2 Cor 2;16 To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?
@@jamzkinman I didn't say anyone would be forced to be with him. If a person perishes and ceases to exist, they won't be with him. So, you're arguing a concept that is not part of my belief at all. I don't believe God will force anyone to be with him, but that doesn't then equal that they will be burning forever and ever. The result of their destruction is what will go on forever and ever. There are multiple scriptures that use the word forever, or forever and ever, and it isn't literal, but symbolizes a long time. Ultimately, I do not believe the fear of being burned for eternity ever saved anyone. If the love of God doesn't convince someone, why would the fear of eternal torment convince them? I do believe the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...Because we need respect for the one who gives us life... But I think death itself and non-existence is something to fear on it's own, and life is something to be thankful for. There will be a second death, but that is it. And I leave that up to God.
The saved and the lost ,both receive eternal, indestructible bodies at the resurrection and there is only 2 places for these people to exist in eternity. One place is with God,washed clean by the blood of Christ, the other place is FOR THOSE WHO DIE IN THEIR SIN,the eternal Hell fire,THE ETERNAL LAKE OF FIRE.This is why Hell exists,it is the prison where all God haters will eternally reside.
The Church's Development of the Hell Myth The myth of hell developed steadily after Yeshua's death in 30 CE, but it does not appear in the Old Testament, the New Testament, Yeshua's teachings, the Acts of the Apostles, Paul's epistles, or the other epistles in the canon. The explanation of how it developed in the church follows.

I respect pastor Jeff so much. I've seen a lot of videos with him witnessing to people. People yell, curse, throw drinks, threaten and want to fight him. It's crazy! And this kid. ... ends the talk with "hail satan." Pastor Jeff continues doing God's work.
Honestly, the "Hail Satan" part really didn't bother me all that much. Over the years, I've heard the testimonies of countless people who said and did a lot worse to the people who witnessed to them before eventually turning their lives over to Christ. Planting seeds and watering is a process and we don't get a full-grown tree from the seeds we sow right away. We just don't. This young man has a lot to process in his heart and his mind right now.

Lord I'm praying that you watch over this young man Satan has a hold of his heart and we can not let Satan win it all in the end Satan knows he's going to lose Satan knows that he has lost but he's trying to take as many people with him as he can get or Jesus we love you and we thank you so much for your sacrifice on the cross for our standing desk. Lord Jesus I acknowledge it you are Christ the very son of God that you are God made manifest in bodily form Lord Jesus and I also pray that in my heart as well that we spread the gospel message right we not wrong way and do it out of love not out of hatred toward anybody. Amazing job of showing the incongruence of the atheist materialist world view. Ouch, really sad. Crazy thing is I felt a really bad vibe from him by looking and listening to the way he was responding, there was no passion to what he believes. He is a hurt and angry individual.
@Nebula You are seeking hapiness and not truth. I disagree completley when you say the only difference between you and an agnostic/athiest is the lack of belief in one less God. It doesn't even make much sense to even say this, given that athiests don't believe in God. The question you should be asking is can the Christian and the athiest be true at the same time? Just because something feels right doesn't make it true. In fact, being a Christian sometimes doesn't feel good, knowing that the way you think is sinful, or the way you act. But we follow the truth, not our own feelings. It's not a hapiness quest, if we all lived like that no one would go to work.
@Nebula I never said that no one else can have morals outside of christians. The only problem is for the non christian, they're going to have a hard time objectivley coming to a conlclusion on morality beyond their own experience. The thing is, everyone says that they are moral, the question we should be asking is which morality is true. If we go with criminals morality are we heading the wrong direction? In your view it seems like there isn't an answer beyond what you've conlcuded for yourself and ONLY yourself. I said what I said because man doesn't dictate truth. " the fact of the matter is that no one can know the truth for certain because there isn't enough knowledge/information" Is this true?
@Nebula I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to make. I'm not talking about what Christianity says about morality, only the claim it makes for truth. You seem to be blending in beliefs and truth together. Also you have a apparent problem with religion as a whole, which I somewhat agree with. The problem with your view is that you are in a cycle of contradictions. On one hand you say religion is all based on faith and personal experience (using your definition). But on the other you've created your own religion/belief system to combat mine based purely on your faith and personal experience. You can't escape, and I'm not saying this as a gotcha or anything, but just to point it out. You've created your own standard of truth for yourself that you follow and argue with. This is completely normal however, and I don't fault you for it at all. But you said it yourself, "all religions claim that their religion is the right one". And this is exactly my point, just because something feels right doesn't make it true. Just because someone tells you it's true doesn't mean it is. So the question is, why should I believe you if you don't claim to know the truth? Should I follow your belief system? Should I make up my own that fits where I find my pleasure? You said that we can't know the truth, so why do you talk like you do? The claim of Christianity is the truth has been written and it's independent from what you and I think. I would urge you to argue with what the Bible says rather than what people do as well.
Nebula yea this isn’t anything new. It’s the new atheist belief to counter the idea that your actively denying god when you reject him. There’s many problems, but one of them is that your assuming evidence is required in order to believe something , when you don’t even live by that same standard.

I've heard him use this approach before, but it has always seemed with this argument that the punishment does not fit the crime. Thanks and God bless!
I observed just his physical uncomfort, like his body heat rising and becoming agitated. My dad once brought me to a christian revival event and I made an alter call. It was not 100% genuine because I didnt want to give up sin but wanted to see what happend. @@thomaskanke7922 Yes. Its quite simple really. Theists say god (and I assume satan as well?) exists outside of time and that contradicts what it means to exist. The definitions of exist, existence, existent, etc all include verbs and verbs have tenses which reference time. With that said, that is simply my own view of it and I don't expect anyone to be convinced solely on the basis of that. It works for me because I don't have any other beliefs it conflicts with. For instance, if someone thinks god exists because they think the kalam/teological/ontological/etc argument is sound or they have "felt him", even if they couldn't find a flaw with that argument, it wouldn't be rational for them to change their mind until after they can find where the mistake was in their other reasoning.
@@Elrog3 Actually its completely your world view that contradicts itself. You have no explanation how a universe that is made of space, time and matter came into existence from nothing. Nothing can't create anything, especially anything so complex. At some point there had to be a beginning in this universe from a external power wich can't be "nothing" logically speaking. If God would be affected by time, space or matter he wouldn't be God. We as christinans simply belive God created the universe, with a Bible thats still accurate in comparison to Hebrew, Greek Manuscripts found thousands of years back. But to go back on topic, you can't prove that God doesn't exist, therefore can't prove anything. Also existence is a noun wich doesn't create any foundational platform for a argument having to do with proving or disproving God.
@@thomaskanke7922 "You have no explanation how a universe that is made of space, time and matter came into existence from nothing." - Its a good thing that isn't my position then. "existence is a noun wich doesn't create any foundational platform for a argument having to do with proving or disproving God." - Its a word and it has a meaning (like all words necessarily do). And that meaning includes verbs, which include time. If other words can be the basis for arguments, why can't this one be part of an argument against god? The entire English language is predicated upon there being time and I'd venture as far as to say the entirety of human reason is predicated upon there being time. To try and 'step outside time' and then proceed to describe describe something is just utter nonsense. There is no valuable insight to be had from that.

You know I almost cried at the end. It really seemed like Jeff was getting somewhere. Pray for Josh to be convicted. He needs Christ
Utterly heartbreaking
It's best just to pray for God to save him.
He was convicted. Pure rebellion. So sad.
Jeff did what was necessary. He planted the seed. Now we pray and let God take over
@@nick-r8o8w Some plant, some water, but it's God who GIVES THE INCREASE.
“Hail Satan” was Josh’s was of acting out against his own feelings. He had a seed planted tonight. It was apparent he didn’t feel comfortable realizing the absurdity of his world view. Pray for Josh
That's a great observation. I agree
Sad
@a normal everyday Spider No, there are lots of devil worshippers. You don't know if he was joking or not.
Regardless of wether he believes in God, or Satan, if they do in fact exist than they can affect his thoughts and beliefs, whether he believes in them or not
the young man was clearly hurt by his conscious confronting him with his turning from the truth. . .

The Church's Development
of the Hell Myth
The myth of hell developed steadily after Yeshua's death in 30 CE, but it does not appear in the Old Testament, the New Testament, Yeshua's teachings, the Acts of the Apostles, Paul's epistles, or the other epistles in the canon. The explanation of how it developed in the church follows.

Over the years, I've heard the testimonies of countless people who said and did a lot worse to the people who witnessed to them before eventually turning their lives over to Christ. @@timsharpe6652 thanks, you know, the only reason I can try to understand an unbelievers denial of God and his gospel is because I was the same way.
It's like, when you hear the Gospel and God calls you, you start to realize that if you give in to God then you will be the one sharing the Gospel and all your friends and family will see you as a "crazy Christian". From a secular point of view, it is the worst part of being a Christian, but once you accept the truth about who you are and who god is, you start seeing ALL the benefits of being a part of God's kingdom and family.
One of the greatest benefits of having Christ as lord is that EVERYTHING begins to make perfect sense, if you try to make sense of the world WITHOUT God, you begin to lose your sanity because you have NOTHING to be your foundation, you have nowhere to begin attempting to explain reason, math, love, knowledge, good, evil, PURPOSE..

Debating morality is always a losing battle for atheists.
Zeke Bean i bet you don’t live like morality is subjective. Not honestly.
@Zeke Bean well since morality is subjective, then I don't have a moral obligation to give you an example of anything and I chose to end the discussion right now. Whether you reply or not I win automatically because I subjectibly feel that I won. If you disagree with me you still lose because you appealed to something objective as in winning or losing.
Zeke Bean No, I mean when a little girl is raped and murdered, I bet you don’t live like that action was subjectively immoral. I bet you don’t grant to the rapist the same freedom and authority to believe as he wants to the rapists who believes a different morality than you.
@Zeke Bean how can you demonstrate anything at all?, "THERE IS NOT OBJECTIVE MORALITY" the guy says! is that the true??????

The logical conclusion of atheism is hopelessness and despair. Ultimately, everything is meaningless so why bother?
Great job in this conversation Jeff!

Amazing job of showing the incongruence of the atheist materialist world view. Then at the very end we see that it is not logic or reason or philosophy or science that weds this young man to this worldview. It is a hatred for and rebellion against God.
" the fact of the matter is that no one can know the truth for certain because there isn't enough knowledge/information"
Is this true?
@Nebula Its a presumption made by the argument.
The gospel is the great revealer. When you hear the good news of Jesus it sheds light on what's really in you.

The one who has been raped has not been put to death so death for the rapist would not seem like a just punishment.

But for the next 20-30 min there was Intense inner conflict as in agitated, couldn't sit still, no clear train of thought and just said "Dad I want to leave now." I HAD to leave that place.
Fast forward, I gave my life to Jesus about 2 years ago and he delivered me from, amongst other things; drug addiction, porno, drinking and a depraved mind.

Now that I have my own boy, I know I can't control his own destiny but teaching him about God and His Love. I hope he too knows God will always be there no matter what he goes through.
Josh was so mature. Until the last 10 seconds. Respect for him lost
I have been watching Pastor Jeff for years and applaud what he is doing. This one is probably one of the saddest to me because the young man truly looked like he wanted to know our Lord Jesus but something is holding him back. I pray that a seed was planted in Josh.
Amen brother
His pride 😞
Jeff you hit the nail on the head I think this young man has a sin he is keeping very dear and dear enough to push the beautiful savior away. I pray he goes to Jesus and He will heal Him !!
Hard hearts. Only God can soften them and only Josh can allow him through repentance and faith in Jesus. Keep preaching truth Jeff and don't be discouraged because God is in total control of everything.
Jeff Durbin #Legend Always prepared to adequately handle all rhetorical challenges.
The best news of all is,everyone that Jesus died for will repent and believe.

@@kunntakentay do you hear that guy in the background with the megaphone? lol
And the pastor in camera view is aggressive. He leans in and stands too close. He probably has 75% of the talking time. He clearly had josh on the defensive from the start. That isn't a good way to have conversation. If something is true and your interlocutor thinks differently, you should be able to pose questions and let your interlocutor reason through their answer and come to know for themselves that they have made a mistake. But this pastor can't do that. Between questions he is saying "here's the thing josh" and telling josh what he should think. And the way he asks the questions its clear he is looking for a certain answer and is going to pounce on anything else. The aggressive attitude isn't wanted or helpful.
Anthony Magnabosco's channel has plenty of good examples of how to have respectful conversations.
@@Elrog3 it wasn't that bad to me, the preacher was a bit assertive but he still made really good points and asked fair questions. It seemed to me that Josh just didn't like what he was saying, not how he was saying it.
@@Elrog3 do you even preach the gospel or do you just criticize others who do?
"Hail satan" was him letting out the ensuing struggle within. You know how when you're cleaning your apartment, dusts get agitated and start to flying.
I wonder why lemonade mouth was playing in the background 😂
Interesting conversation, thank you!
Truly this conversation will reel in this young mans head I believe for years. His heart of stone was evident with his departing comment, but I pray that him speaking with pastor Jeff was an appointed conversation by God in His plan to give him a heart of flesh.
@19:21 ????"hail" ? Who? Josh said that as he walked away from mr. Jeff why all that conversation that's why he looked uncomfortable the entire time because he had the spirit of the enemy
"Hail Satan"
That part at the end...he may have been joking but idle words like that can be damning. Let's hope he considers what Jeff said today.
All I heard from this young lost soul is I believe and I think ,that’s what’s been taught in this generation prideful nature of the flesh

Thank you God for sending Jeff to bringing lofty ideas that set themselves up against the knowledge of God down!
Something has a grip on him and it isn't good. The end was just so odd. He was taking it in and as soon as Jeff was opening his eyes something comes over him and he doesn't want to even give it a chance. How can you acknowledge that you still hold on to some of your Christian views or morals but then turn around and say something so despicable as in "hail satan". (I cringe as I type that.)
Idk why, but that "hail Satan" jab really hurt. Everyone pray for him.
Well you can take solace in the fact that he doesn't exist.
@@Elrog3 You can say for a fact he doesn't?
@@thomaskanke7922 "You have no explanation how a universe that is made of space, time and matter came into existence from nothing."

Its a good thing that isn't my position then. I reject something coming from nothing.
"At some point there had to be a beginning in this universe from a external power"
-
How do you know that? If we go down this route, I'm it could be a lengthy conversation. I'll leave it up to you whether you want to delve in on that.
"existence is a noun wich doesn't create any foundational platform for a argument having to do with proving or disproving God."
-
Its a word and it has a meaning (like all words necessarily do).
Breaks my heart when people have false doctrine.
Well he claims to have NO doctrine, so there's always a chance there
Much rather be an atheist converted at %60 frequency than a Jehovah's witnesses at %2

please make your case then...
@@EricSmyth4Christ I'm calling BS on that 60% figure. But point taken, religion tends to teach close-mindedness.
@@Elrog3 Oh, I was just pulling those numbers out of the air to make a point
If Person A was religious, there would be a %2 chance he finds Christ when the gospel was preached to him, but if person A was an atheist, he would accept the gospel at a %60 rate. Therefore, it is more profitable to be an atheist. (Darkness > False Light)
Person B accepts the gospel at a %50 rate regardless of his religious affiliations
All I was saying is that there are probably a lot more people like person A than person B, but both those people don't exist, it was an example to make a point
Blown away by ending. Praying that Josh finds his way back to Jesus.
