Another good vlog 🤙🏼🇺🇲
Thanks dude!
Excellent Vlog 🤙 Much appreciated
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
excellent video, I do a lot of sheepshead fishing and I agree 100% with you, I normally fish no deeper than 15ft and I have had great success with a 1/0 owner SSW J hook and a split shot
@slowryder452003 thats awesome! I love finesse fishing for them in shallower stuff, it's a ton of fun!
Thanks to you and Chris , I've had a great year fishing
Man, that's awesome! I love hearing that 🤙
The year isn't over yet either, some of the best fishing is just getting started!
@ckwoutdoors
Just got my first tuna
Amberjack and bull red all within 2 weeks
@knightclan4 dude, heck yes! That's a hell of a couple weeks! I haven't even gotten a tuna yet this season 😂
Now I wanna sheep fish. Look what you did. Lol
@@hookcraft_fishing Let's do it
Great video
Thanks
I’m new I’m liking ur vid 🤩🙏
@JoseFrancisco-kd7zo thank you! I'm glad to hear that. Lots more content to come!
Great video man. Any opinions on colors? Whatever imitates the local things that the crabs/shrimp cling to, or looks like a barnacle? I'm guessing the game is 'hide the weight', not so much 'attract'.
@abelister4349 thanks!
Sometimes it is about hiding the weight, like if they're being super picky or if maybe the water is extremely clear for example, and that's when I'd use a really small jig like 1/4 Oz or switch to a splitshot or dropper rig.
But sometimes it's actually good to have the weight on the jig be visible because you can go with colors that imitate barnacles or whatever and they may actually draw the fish in. I haven't noticed a huge difference in using different colors really, but usually I'll prefer the ones that are colored like a barnacle or something like that. The ones that Bird Of Prey makes that are painted white/brown and purple like a fiddler crab always seem to do well for me.
Oddly, I've actually had GREAT luck with the bright orange jigs too. My guess is because crab eggs are usually orange, the orange jigs may look like a fiddler crab sitting on a cluster of eggs.. but that's just a theory of course lol. Also I like the sand colored jigs too. Those kind of blend into the sand if fishing them on the bottom which makes it look like just a crab or shrimp sitting there alone.
Overall I'd say jig color doesn't matter enough to say "DEFINITELY use this one".
@@ckwoutdoors Right on. That "gulf breeze" color Birds of Prey puts out is one I like, I'm thinking that's the brown/white you're talking about. I've always wondered if color mattered to the sheepies. I wouldn't have thought to try orange, but I'll give it a shake. Thanks man - keep these videos coming - I'll give you all the UA-cam points if you can make a video on catching sheeps without having to do battle with all the pinfish!
@abelister4349 Usually i have the best luck avoiding pinfish my using crabs as bait, but the bigger pins will sometimes still tear them up. I struggle with that too but this season maybe I'll experiment with other options that are pinfish resistant 🤣
