I find it very odd that they added a pre-raid lobby in og Tarkov where you can see all your squads loadouts and yet that doesn't exist in arena where knowing what your teammates are bringing into the match is more important because you're playing with randoms and there's no way to talk to anyone until the match has already started.
12:04 "I feel like it takes the best parts of Tarkov and sets them to the side. I feel like the CQB is my least...liked part of EFT. I feel like the gameplay just kinda becomes RNG at that range and there's not really much strategy to it." I almost completely agree here; Tarkov was fun because of all the systems surrounding the combat. The looting, maps, progression, and gun building were what drew people in and what gave most of the satisfaction. The gun fighting was like 1% of the time spent in that game and almost invariably gave the buggiest and most confusing experiences the game has to offer. There are reasons for this. They aren't RNG, they are just incredibly unusual bugs that're mostly invisible to most players. Inertia and peek mechanics are BAD, for example. Let's look at some of the bugs and jank surrounding a single peek: 1. Desync hovers around half a second, 500ms. You can peek and shoot for a full half second before the enemy sees you. 2. You can slow and fast lean at the same time to peek faster. 3. You can ADS nearly instantly after sprinting. 4. You get less recoil while holding your breath. 5. You can blind an enemy with a flashlight, but they go through walls. 6. Jumping glitches sound to the wrong location. 7. Inertia can be avoided entirely by tapping W or S between A and D. This all combined gives the meta peek: sprint jump into position at the corner, look towards the wall and begin strafing, turn on your flashlight, use slow and fast lean to quickly lean, ADS, hold breath, fire a burst, un-ADS, press S to break inertia, begin strafing back into cover, use slow and fast lean in the opposite direction to unlean. This peek requires at least 14 unique key bindings to execute (although you can map some to press and some to release to save keys), and it will form the majority of your combat activities while clearing a CQC area. If you ever get shot through a wall followed by a star of light popping out half a second later for 50ms, this is how. 4:12 Watch this fight for an example of the desync. They saw each other with the same lag on the first peek because they were both pushing, and Drewski just shot faster. Then, the opponent tries to take cover while Drewski just pushes more. Drewski is seeing the opponent a half second behind, so actually farther out of cover than he is. The opponent is seeing Drewski a half second behind, so actually more in cover. This gives an effective full second of push difference, allowing Drewski to just light up a fully-exposed model, while the opponent likely can't even see much or any of Drewski's model behind cover. He doesn't see Drewski standing fully exposed in the door blasting him, he sees bullets coming through the corner.
The latency explains so much of what infuriated me while playing arena. Retreating almost always ends up with getting shot by someone you're supposedly hidden from.
@@goodgoatco op tarkov buddy. Me and my friends set the raid timer to 5 hours add a few mods larp the path to tarkov mod (because it isn't ported for co op) and there we go
Hopefully it means this is put under a microscope and fixed. I hate having to ballerina walk in a circle to peek corners and holding air in my chipmunk cheeks to shoot my ak perfectly flat.
A potential easy fix would be to have you pick the class/tier you want to play then picking the map, and it can queue you with people similar to what you have
Exactly. Pick your preset just like would in eft and match off that. Blows my mind that people are already running meta ash 12 against kedrs. Hopefully that gets worked out
@nonya8080 bruh the 100 round mag m4 is so toxic. I literally disconnect from a match last night cause everyone on their team had them and my team was running free pistol kits. Nah I'm good haha
@ARBCOOL07 oh yea I agree. I've been playing SPT with the realism mod and they did a great job with reducing the vertical recoil and making it more rearward as it should be. It's just annoying it's still an issue.
For those of us still playing in 1080p, the arm band as the only source of IFF is not enough at range. Between tarkovs color palette and the pixel density, you cannot see the band
yup - 1080p is borderline unplayable if you want to see anything past 50m. DSR is much better, but a native 1440p monitor for tarkov is a night and day difference
From what I've found, it is tier based but it's based off your ARP ranking, not the actual tier of your gear. So people are tanking their ARP to be able to go in with tier 3/4 kits.
Dang lucky you. Just watched a guy on the enemy team with a 100rnd m4 and tank armor mow through my entire team without having to aim, and there was nothing anyone on my team with their trash their ammo could do about it. @@nra0944
Making EFT into an arena shooter is like designing the most advanced fighter jet in the world, super advanced electronics, weapons systems, all of it - only the fuselage MUST be made of wood. Like, the core is just fundamentally not suited for it.
It's not as bad, to be honest. Make all medicine use at triple the speed and give painkillers to more classes and it would be fine. Gunplay we'll see new one in two weeks, so how that goes is also a question. But the most important part Arena does now - it no longer hides the stats from a player, you no longer have to go to wiki to see your penetration value - game will tell you it by itself. You have no idea how big that is.
@@darrkhunter96 Idk why them adding stats to the game that everyone could already look up is a big thing lol. I mean yeah that's nice and should've been in the game since day one.. but if that's all the value we're getting out of the arena update then that's not really a good deal.
lol the core gameplay loop is fine it's just the kits need to be balanced a bit better and it needs to not be so "you pick one path so pick the right one" don't judge the game until you've personally played it.
I haven't played Tarkov much since the weight update but came back for arena. it's really weird that ADSing is so discouraged now. Your trained pmc can't hold a gun straight and has the strength of a child leukemia patient.

@@AlexTaldren This game is not tactical in the slightest, people play like this and get punished. The game is HEAVY into W key-ing and hipfiring. Most of the 'good' players have figured this out and have done nothing but this for years.
The entire reason I bought Tarkov in the fist place was to build my own gun exactly how I have it irl with the same parts. I hope there will be gun customization for arena in the future.
@@alexbrookma for people like me who don't want to grind in classic EFT to unlock said weapons. In a couple hours in arena I can play with a suppressed mp7 with decent armor, which I can't get so quickly in EFT cause I suck
If this game is finding itself in the situation that more HUD would benefit it, that means it's gone very wrong in another area. You don't want it to just be weird COD, the whole point is to have a more immersive and strategic PvP arena where decisions you make have long-term consequences. While I'm getting used to the arm bands, I don't see any reason different uniforms on different sides should affect the class balancing (or lack thereof). If you can't use much in the way of meaningful tactics in this CQB moshpit and need gamey solutions to make it work, then the game is missing the point of what makes its own core gameplay unique
Even if they didn’t want to do name tags over players, I feel like something like green vs tan would work. Worked well enough when I was playing airsoft.
It is just EfT: Quick Play. It is a fun little thing, that just cannot be called competitive in the slightest. I like loadouts and unlocking them (gear score matchmaking is a must though) and I am really looking forward to the co-op mode PvE mode, against waves of enemies, that could be a lot of fun. If they want to go competitive, they need to change a lot of aspects, it cannot be pure Tarkov like it is now, does not work. But it has a lot of potential in other aspects, modes etc.
Idea for the IFF problem based off of Contractors VR PMC mod: A common recommendation to newer players of the mod is to key into their comms to check player positions without having to ask. So if I see movement in the back line or farther than I can see the player model, I click my comms on and an icon pops above their head through cover. Or if a friendly does, their singular icon pops up for everybody else. Because even with the arm bands on,(the mod uses the same exact Red VS Blue arm bands), if people turn a corner after shooting 3 guys and see anything humanoid a shot or 3 is getting pumped into their chest. This would also help tremendously for players without mics.
I can’t believe I make it into a Drewski video and the clip is me failing to realize my shotgun is empty and then fumbling controls to get my pistol out 🤣🤣🤣
So one thing that has stood out to me in the UI, is the classes each have a "MP"(?) value. And this value seems to go up when the gear quality does, I assume there's some form of tiering which might come in, but be a bracket (150-220) rather than a solid tier I,II,III, etc
They need to rethink class progression. I believe a second currency for unlocking new loadouts and going down class trees is one possible solution. You are forced to use exact classes in the tree to continue progression which insanely dampens your usefulness to your team and the overall experience of the game. Furthermore, you are punished for reaching the end of a tree as you will no longer be gaining tree progression for what you spent all that time working hard for. I believe this game in its current state will be impossible to balance. What is preventing my 4 other teammates from deciding they want to start grinding a new path? They all are now using the most useless loadouts and my game is automatically lost. This doesn't even scratch the surface with how the economy will be affecting gameplay. What's stopping the game from giving me one or more teammates who recently went broke and are forced to use the free loadouts? Am I really going to load into a ranked game and have automatic losses because Timmy wasted his cash and now has a pistol with terrible ammo? They want this game to be competitive, but you don't start the game on an even playing field... I would also like to know what the economy looks like for a below average player. Let's say someone has a 40% win rate, do they perpetually stay near zero rubles? Aren't they just going to stop playing because every other game they are broke and forced to use the single worst free loadout? This effect is then reversed for above average players, or players who are 5 stacked and have a high win rate, putting them in an extremely positive cash flow. This means they will be constantly able to afford the best class with the best ammo and never have to compromise, which will have a compounding effect on their win rate and cashflow. A permeant fix would be making the loadouts a one-time purchase. Make them expensive so you still have to grind, but this would make it so you no longer are punished for using the loadout you want to. You could continue to use your favorite loadout at the bottom of the tree and not negatively affect your ability to win and you and your teammates experience.
the base gun should be unlockable for purchase. you can put non meta attachments in for a cost to add on the second currency idea is cool for buying new armors new guns. war thunder progression is dogshit. make it where all guns and armor are unlockable no loadouts at all its down to the player to pick the loadout. then theres variety and the unknown
The latter half just happened with me, 3 of my teammates using the free pistol scav loadout... It's completely unplayable for a team that has even an iota of armor or face shield.
The HUD or no HUD for identifying friend or foe could be solved with a very simple solution, that games figured out way before HUDs. Team red has red tinted equipment, team blue has blue tinted. Or use the red and blue camo patterns. I know, I know you won't be able to rat (not the point of arena), it will require extra textures (well you can just use a hue overlay that is pretty light weight) and it would not be the real Tarkov experience (which Arena is not anyways). But it is a HUDless solution. And if you want to stick to Tarkov looks with no extra addition, just make it PMC vs Scav skins, USEC vs BEAR, tan men vs green men, blue bois vs white tops, flannel vs tracksuit... just distinct uniforms do wonders and we already have distinct uniforms in Tarkov. Armbands suck 9/10 times for FoF in games with low time to kill. Also not a fan of the Warthunder tiers. I was hoping you'd get budget tiers where you make your build and that is your tier. So if you get $70k with high pen ammo M4 and tier 6 armor, you'll fight someone give or take similar, but if you go $500 makarov meme mode you'll meet similar budget. That way you'll be able to make builds with meds in mind, maybe unlock higher budgets as a progression system and have premade builds for quick games, sure. But give people option to get at least meds ffs. This is not like Hell Let Loose, where it makes sense to have locked loadouts. This is like Insurgency where you should get some flexibility, so if you want high pen ammo you need to use less attachments or worse gun or worse armor for example. Each budget tier builds its own meta this way where if armor is expensive, low pen ammo is 100% worth it in lower tiers but armor is important in higher tiers etc.
The armband iff system just seems to not work, I've been in so many situations where I've tk'd or been tk'd because the armbands weren't visible or it was too dark to tell the color. Yesterday on air pit, I got tk'd in the airplane where the dude sprayed me with his kedr, stopped shooting me for a second to check his target (I didn't shoot back because I knew he was my teammate), and then he continued shooting and tk'd me. There needs to be something else to id people other than armbands that can only be seen at chest level, like some glowsticks or something that's only visible to your team.
Honestly for the team color part you don’t need a hud you just need something to differentiate the teams better maybe the colors could be brighter and maybe have more color on other parts of the characters. Maybe even having very bright and obvious lights like The Division 2 could help. Edit: I was being sarcastic about The Division part but I do think the colors being a bit brighter could help and make the teams stand out better.
@@XXX3134L Models is kind of up for debate, it pains me to say this but IMO The recent IW CODs have a monopoly on gun models and weapon animations. as someone who has a wide variety of guns and shoots them often, and even shoots machine guns often, id say COD actually gets them the most right, maybe except for how tight their recoil patterns are or how flawless the reloads are and such but i assure you if you are even somewhat skilled with a weapon, if you fire it it wont laterally escalate up your vision like a 2D image being dragged across a plate upwards in a zigzag motion. not to mention the ballistic performance of guns in Tarkov lmfao its actually comical. though thats what milsims are for
@@domaxltv ive a little bit of time in I:S it can be fun but it has a critical flaw in that you cant tell whats going on on target when you fire your gun
So I have heard the complaint about hitting accept on a few different channels now, but that’s the same mechanic that’s in valorant, league, and a lot of other team based games. It stops you from having an afk that loads in if their pc dies, or their bathroom break turned into a bathroom emergency. I dig the secondary acceptance, it’s just a normal part of the matchmaking process. It makes sense in a game like this, but it doesn’t make sense in regular tarkov because you aren’t surrounded by a team full of randoms.
Theres no punishment for not hitting accept though. I tried it to just see what happens and I just get to queue up again and waste 9 other ppls time. It takes like 2-3 minutes just to find a match, not because there aren't people playing, you can get into the accept screen in 1-2 seconds, but because you have to requeue like 9 times becasue 1 or 2 ppl dont hit accept. Then you have to wait another 2-3 minutes for everyone to load in, then another minute for everyone to choose their class, then you spend 10 minutes of the game dead because some dude on the other team has 1 tap ammo and you have paper armor and shoot spitballs out of your gun. This is one of the worst implementations of an arena shooter I've ever played.
@@CatNibbles i dont spend 10 minutes. every match for me has taken less than a second to get in. literally don't even see the menu pop up before I get in

Why not colored hats, colored helmet tape at least. Blue/yellow tape examples all over the news (maybe not BSG's news...). If they do add more visual markers from cloths, be nice to see that as an option in EFT as well.
I think playing retakes in csgo greatly improved my understanding of the pvp, map positioning and just generally made me better at the game. I think Tarkovsky would be sick if they had a similar team based mode sorta like siege idk
I think a major problem thatll cross over is the weird inaccurate level of armor like helmets being rated rifle lvl3 when theyre 3a or like lvl2 or just kevlar
I'm pretty sure that bsg uses the Russian standard of body armour rating which is quite different from the western one. I myself don't think I have ever heard about actual "class 6" plates on the western table because the standards are different.
@@wafflebunny123 the only ones that I can think of consistently outperforming their capabilities are the helmets, the armors seem to be at a decent place when keeping in mind that having full realism is not exactly fun as long as bullets are plentiful.
They should add a PDA strapped to the left arm that shows your team's location on a small map. Plus the game time, phase, and how many enemies are left for good measure. Keeps it as part of the game without being added as actual HUD that way too. Everything on the PDA, except team location, is all info that they give us access to but you have to look away from the actual game to know or just keep track of the kills.
Also, I love how Tarkov has the deepest gun customization of all games of all time, yet somehow they managed Arena to be the most tactically limited shooter ever.
(Oh wait, is the m4 guy wearing a kiver, wtf were they thinking.) The guy with the M4 and face shield is definitely fairly op, but it's been slightly "nerfed", and the faceshield is very weak as well with the helmet its really weak. (Either a ShPM or PSh-97) which are both tier two with low ricochet, maybe only really good against some shotgun rounds. And im pretty sure there is a tier system, but honestly god knows what BSG cooked up, I do agree there are points which can, and hopefully will be handled a lot better. (it was also SOST ammo, now RRLP.)
The thing is alot people dont realize.Having hud in games isnt bad.If you play most of the old games from 2000-2013 era games. They always had minimal hud which wasnt annoying or didnt felt like you are playing a mobile game. But after era most pc/console game had ui that looked annoying and felt like it taken straight from mobile games.Specially in lootbox and battlepass era. They had way foo much intrusive huds which made most people hate hud more and more cause of that.I always like games that only had minimal hud also with its own style without looking like a mobile game.
this "game mode" really emphazises the weaknesses of tarkov an Im glad. Ill probably never come back unless they fix the netcode and sound. but at least you can vault once the new update comes out ;)
Giving people instant access to Tarkov's actual core-gameplay is only going to doom both arena and normal EFT. As soon as people can discover how terrible the game is in 15 minutes, instead of it taking 150 hours, no one will ever play EFT again.
- The matchmaking really really really needs to be like in WarThunder where you select a preset or presets BEFORE you queue for a game - 7 seconds is way too quick for the capture - I agree the healing takes too long, but honestly whatever - I agree with the maps, I also have only Sawmill and Bowl selected because the others feel terrible to play
War Thunder's +-1 matchmaking could work here just fine, in WT if your BR (Battle Rating, aka WT's own tier type, don't mistake it with rank) is 5.7 then you could face enemies ranging from BR 4.7 to BR 6.7, depending on that you got either down or uptier, and mostly you gonna face one of the two, not the two at the same time, since thats one of the points of down and uptiers.
@@Opachki69420 That could be fixed a few changes to the gunplay, ammo qualities and armor performance, armor works way too well and the enemies feel like bullet sponges, its really shouldn't take more than one well placed shot or a few good enough shots.
They should change the progression system to how warthunder does it by making you unlock a few roles before unlocking the next tier. I think itd make for a more balanced progression and more to work for in the long run
@@abraxo4945 so what. genuinely what difference does it make if its "released" or "beta"? Every game that "releases" today comes in a shittier state than this, and they also still receive updates
ive always been interested in tarkov. the shooting and stuff looks fun to me. the only thing keeping me from playing it is the HUGE learning curve. this seems like a good way to get the tarkov gameplay i longingly look at on youtube without having to devote 40 hours a week into learning the game inside and out
Thats kind of the problem, it really doesn't help you understand tarkov, it just shows you how the guns look......But even gun performance won't be the same in Arena vs Escape. Its extremely misleading.
Imo the learning curve in tarkov is mainly learning the map, positioning, important items and ammo n armor pen. Gunplay is tha easier thing especially if you've ever played any fps ever
They need to make a set budget for your loadout (say like 150k for example). Then give players access to the entire tarkov item database with set prices (like vendors). Then players can build their loadouts/class before they que into a match. This will allow them to build a gun, choose their armor, grenades, meds etc. So if you are given say 150k, you can choose what you want to prioritize. This would create tons of strategic load outs that teams could theory craft. One of the best parts of tarkov is the gun building and mass amount of items available. Allow plays to use them in their own unique way.
RE: Uptiers, as with War Thunder; Uptiering isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on a couple of factors. For example, if a player wants or needs to play with a handicap to make things more fair, then fair enough. Or, if a player doesn't care about the handicap and will be rewarded with more points because of the increased difficulty, then fair enough as well. But in either case that needs to be a voluntarily action of the player, not an arbitrary decision by the matchmaker alone.
i mean tarkov always been like that / Better ammo pen one tap / better armor protectu form cheap ammo so just when u enter raid / arena more chad u are more survivability u get and i don't speak about op gun
It felt great to me. I wouldn’t change much about the gameplay at all. (Except marking objectives) Tons of balance annd progression issues, but those can be improved or fixed.
9:30 every competetive game like cs go, lol and others have this feature. It s wierd u mantioned that. I got matches in 20s max. And playing in a match max 2 min total (from starting to search to playing). The biggest problem is with the loadouts. But for now arena is really fun. Overall good video
My experience has been mostly negative. Presets are stupid, and anyone will an automatic weapon wins 90% of the time. I've outdamaged people over and over just to die to them anyway. If I wanted to feel underpowered and helpless every match, I'd just play regular boring ass EFT.
I started yesterday, and I dont get timmy lobbies with my tier 3 preset, I had them for about 5-10 rounds and as my mmr went up, the enemies grew stronger as well…I feel like a lot of the criticism right now is from people didnt play for more than 2-3 hours
no because eventually, even starting out and losing like 8 or 9 straight games out of the 15 i've played, i've gotten exp mixed with the fact that even as my rank score decreased, i was fighting M4s from the start.
Battlestate Games: here try out an early version of Arena for a few weeks before we wipe and implement the new armor and recoil rework UA-camrs: WOW THIS STILL NEEDS BALANCING fr?
Can’t wait to have the same “There’s issues but I’m sure they’ll figure it out” optimistic mentality as with tarkov and then watch as they fix absolutely fuck all. Making a derivative game and heavily pushing for esports without the game even being done was such a bad sign. BSG makes good things but they are just so delusional and stubborn it hurts to watch when they flounder
In the spirit of respectful disagreement, I would say that most of your concerns/complaints matter very little to me. Not because they are not great points but because I personally never wanted Arena to be a "competitive" shooter. I've always thought that Tarkov PvP was the least interesting part of Tarkov and that other arena style shooters would obviously do it better. I just want a Tarkov side grind. It seems to me that most of people's disappointments stem from their expectations (which are not unreasonable). I don't want the kits to be balanced per se, but I do want to play against crappy kits when I have a crappy kit. So the matching obviously needs to change. But as a Tarkov side grind that I got for free as a consequence of having purchased EOD 6 years ago, I quite like it and am looking forward to how it evolves and develops.
Not saying you're wrong but tbf I think people's expectations of it being a competitive shooter come from how BSG are marketing it, they literally ran an E-Sports event for it this past weekend at Dreamhack with a €100,000 prize pool
@scoutsergantmkoll6378 No, you're absolutely right. That is 100% on BSG. My personal expectations are definitely different from the expectation BSG have been attempting to set. I am fortunate in that, though I'm not super cynical or hard to please, I never set my expectations as high as game developers would have me. I have been a hardcore gamer for over 30 years so I have long ago learned my lesson. That doesn't mean I can't be hype for a game. Just that my hype is usually for what I want out of the game rather than what is being advertised. If that makes any sense at all lol. I'll be the first to admit that I'm optimistic and easy to please when it comes to video games. I can quite enjoy busted video games if it rubs me the right way.
Cod has respawn game modes, tarkov arena won't have a game mode that will let you respawn. Maybe in the pve game mode and FFA. 3 out of the 5 game modes is just going to be Counter Strike
You have PS 5.45x39 which has more penetration than 5.56x45 SOST which is what the enemy was using, you dont realize how many shots you miss, i agree the weapon handling is dogshit but they are gonna change it next wipe (hopefully)
There's also the fact that the very same ps bullet just cuts through that class 3 faceshield like butter. I just detect a major skill issue from drewsky on this.
I'm so surpprised to hear another channel rag on the "accept" button for queuing. It's used in a lot of competitive games to stop teams from getting AFK people who ruin the match. Even CS has this feature.
That's a fair critique of the way BSG implemented it. But by and large this system works very well when those who did accept are immediately priority re-queued and people are incentivized to stay in client to see the accept button (by allowing them to do other things while queuing).@@aleksstankovic5690
I am surprised there is basically no customization for loadouts, even just one or two custom loadouts you unlock later in the progression. They could even have it 'tarkov themed' by having all gear cost roubles and you get a set amount to use so you need to balance armour, weapon, ammo and attachments. I understand this may cause more issues with ranked balancing, but they already have a gear score system that could factor in as well. It just feels odd to have a game known for it's customization and risk/reward systems and have stupidly strict loadouts.
Tarkov itself is in beta and the rate of improvement is glacial, it's called "releasing a minimum viable product to encourage people to spend more" Meanwhile in tarkov they dont even fund the support enough to read through emails about accounts being used by RMTers if its not a streamer saying it
They never tested it with the progression. Everybody that played had meta kits from the beginning. I'd bet they just made this system up a couple weeks before launch
9:03 that's actually a GREAT idea. Every ranked game out there needs this because it assures everybody is in the game and ready to play. Sometimes people queue stuff and go take a piss or something and then you get a team with -1 for the first round or something like that and it SUCKS for everyone.
From the majority of the streamers that i've watched playing arena, they almost all said that there should be some sort of way to see who is your teammate in arena.
Arena is such a dumpsterfire right now that they have completely closed down the ticket system. You are literally not able to contact support at all because of the traffic lmao. i tried to queue into a game for over an hour and i either didnt find a match for like 20min and had to back out or the match never got accepted by the other people. it happened like 15 times in a row before i rage quit. i have tried to play arena the entire day and i have managed to successfully complete 4 rounds. in 2 of those games i had teammates just teamkilling left right and center (on purpose) whilst screaming racial slurs into my ears on radio. I also ran into someone who cheated. killing everyone on the round start. 10/10 experience. Esports ready soon.
I really wanted to give this a go, but it seems way to unfriendly to solo queue. If they do anything like you suggest, with bigger objective focused modes and a limited HUD, I'll give it another look.
It would be cool if weapons were rewarded for winning matches and lost for dieing. Maybe have challenges to unlock special weapons. Making your own loadouts is one of Tarkovs best traits and it would be really cool to see it here

Let's look at some of the bugs and jank surrounding a single peek:

It's genuinely fascinating how they can so meticulously craft quality aspects of this game and overlook such obvious parts at the same time.

If you can't use much in the way of meaningful tactics in this CQB moshpit and need gamey solutions to make it work, then the game is missing the point of what makes its own core gameplay unique
i think the armbands should be client side, or just make it so youre shooting at red every time
@@jakoblinton5223 This is super smart. America's Army 3 used clientside player models so you're always playing as the US to fit the theming

It needs to match you based on the kit you selected, there is no other way really. That means kits have to be selected before you even start queing

- 7 seconds is way too quick for the capture
- I agree the healing takes too long, but honestly whatever
- I agree with the maps, I also have only Sawmill and Bowl selected because the others feel terrible to play
War Thunder's +-1 matchmaking could work here just fine, in WT if your BR (Battle Rating, aka WT's own tier type, don't mistake it with rank) is 5.7 then you could face enemies ranging from BR 4.7 to BR 6.7, depending on that you got either down or uptier, and mostly you gonna face one of the two, not the two at the same time, since thats one of the points of down and uptiers.
we also need to be able to use weaker presets to grind further in the tree, needing to run the best kit all the time just to gain xp is stupid
@@Opachki69420 That could be fixed a few changes to the gunplay, ammo qualities and armor performance, armor works way too well and the enemies feel like bullet sponges, its really shouldn't take more than one well placed shot or a few good enough shots.

ive always been interested in tarkov. the shooting and stuff looks fun to me. the only thing keeping me from playing it is the HUGE learning curve. this seems like a good way to get the tarkov gameplay i longingly look at on youtube without having to devote 40 hours a week into learning the game inside and out
Thats kind of the problem, it really doesn't help you understand tarkov, it just shows you how the guns look......But even gun performance won't be the same in Arena vs Escape. Its extremely misleading.
Imo the learning curve in tarkov is mainly learning the map, positioning, important items and ammo n armor pen. Gunplay is tha easier thing especially if you've ever played any fps ever
hacking is out of control these days but i gotta say when the culprits cry about something being unfair I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT
They need to make a set budget for your loadout (say like 150k for example).
Allow plays to use them in their own unique way.
yes, and you should be seperated by how much you spend on your kit. so there's 50k tiers 100k tiers 200k etc
Exactly, not having the gun building aspect in the game where gun building is it's only gun-related draw is insane
But in either case that needs to be a voluntarily action of the player, not an arbitrary decision by the matchmaker alone.
i mean tarkov always been like that / Better ammo pen one tap / better armor protectu form cheap ammo so just when u enter raid / arena more chad u are more survivability u get and i don't speak about op gun

no because eventually, even starting out and losing like 8 or 9 straight games out of the 15 i've played, i've gotten exp mixed with the fact that even as my rank score decreased, i was fighting M4s from the start.
The game mode that literally no one asked for sold as a full stop game. Merry Christmas!
so many people wanted this lol, just not the people that currently play Tarkov regularly
Battlestate Games: here try out an early version of Arena for a few weeks before we wipe and implement the new armor and recoil rework
UA-camrs: WOW THIS STILL NEEDS BALANCING
fr?
so why implement it after? why not wait a 2 weeks. also the recoil and armor wasn't even one of his complaints
Let me guess. Call of duty but better and that you can get tarkoved? Sounds like a perfect rage juice for me
Cod has respawn game modes, tarkov arena won't have a game mode that will let you respawn. Maybe in the pve game mode and FFA. 3 out of the 5 game modes is just going to be Counter Strike
omg I would love to see the development of drewski's channel from way back when to today haha
That old sawmill 2 and bay 7 map reworks from contract wars is just so nostalgic
Beta for next 8 years 😅
BRO THAT WAS ME AT 6:48!!!!
Gagadorn was my name lmao. My mic mightve just been buggin, probs wasn't on Tarkovs end.
Cheers brother man. 🚨
I'm so surpprised to hear another channel rag on the "accept" button for queuing. It's used in a lot of competitive games to stop teams from getting AFK people who ruin the match. Even CS has this feature.
Problem is when one person doesn’t accept, instead of keeping all 9 together and look for one more it all falls apart.
That's a fair critique of the way BSG implemented it. But by and large this system works very well when those who did accept are immediately priority re-queued and people are incentivized to stay in client to see the accept button (by allowing them to do other things while queuing).@@aleksstankovic5690
you can tell who has and who hasn't played cs, or any comp game for that matter
I am surprised there is basically no customization for loadouts, even just one or two custom loadouts you unlock later in the progression. They could even have it 'tarkov themed' by having all gear cost roubles and you get a set amount to use so you need to balance armour, weapon, ammo and attachments. I understand this may cause more issues with ranked balancing, but they already have a gear score system that could factor in as well. It just feels odd to have a game known for it's customization and risk/reward systems and have stupidly strict loadouts.
"How does this not get tested/caught" this is the test, shits gonna suck, its a beta. Give it a while to get good
Tarkov itself is in beta and the rate of improvement is glacial, it's called "releasing a minimum viable product to encourage people to spend more"
Meanwhile in tarkov they dont even fund the support enough to read through emails about accounts being used by RMTers if its not a streamer saying it
How most of this got past testing is insane
They never tested it with the progression. Everybody that played had meta kits from the beginning. I'd bet they just made this system up a couple weeks before launch
It's biggest flaw is I paid $140 for this game and I'm not allowed to play it
9:03 that's actually a GREAT idea. Every ranked game out there needs this because it assures everybody is in the game and ready to play. Sometimes people queue stuff and go take a piss or something and then you get a team with -1 for the first round or something like that and it SUCKS for everyone.
And putting nades in such small maps is crazy, people are just learning where to throw them at the start and almost always get a kill
Havent watched the full thing but you saying: "Gunplay has never been perfect" made my heart bleed so much
I really wanted to give this a go, but it seems way to unfriendly to solo queue. If they do anything like you suggest, with bigger objective focused modes and a limited HUD, I'll give it another look.
it just released, cant be perfect either.
also the fact a large portion of the playerbase still has no access
Never understood the progression of:
You're new here's grandmas pest shotgun.
You're a veteran here's a gatlin gun
Respect Drewski for one of the OG's playing Contract Wars.
It would be cool if weapons were rewarded for winning matches and lost for dieing. Maybe have challenges to unlock special weapons. Making your own loadouts is one of Tarkovs best traits and it would be really cool to see it here
