As one of his colleagues, I watched Isaac deteriorate and sink deep in the dungeon of alcoholism.
Speaking to Isaac, he described his situation fully to me prior to the shooting. He is a funny guy........below are his words......I tried to translate😆!
Imagine you're in a never-ending carnival funhouse, where every mirror shows a slightly different, more disheveled version of yourself. Every time you reach for a prize, it turns out to be a bottle of something you really didn’t want in the first place.
The floor is slick with a smooth-talking bottle of whiskey who keeps offering you another ride on the Ferris wheel. You’re trying to navigate this maze while juggling a bunch of balloon animals, but instead of staying afloat, they keep popping and deflating, leaving you tangled in a mess of rubber. You’re not sure if you’re lost, dizzy, or just really tired of the same old carnival games.

I pray that even as we go to rehabs to get free from whichever addiction, we will remember to call on the name of Jesus.
