All stages are based on my own experiences and some common stages everyone goes through. So it is likely that this will not apply to everyone.
This is the biggest project I’ve ever worked on and it is also my first time writing any kind of script, so please bear with me.

I almost became a full on tier 10 Scout main, but realized from the moment I first played tf2 that I will truly be a Heavy main, and love the class forever

I think big Joey used to main scout as well, but heavy is such a strong class with such variable drawbacks that It is so much fun more often than not

Just started playing, and decided to main Scout, remembered this exists, and here I am.

Well I got pretty good at Scout but the game got infested with bots, I stopped playing and haven't started playing again since.

i went through all these stages with only 40 hours of scout.

Im at stage the beginning of stage 9 involving retired, and I still havent come back to what I used to be while only at 130 hours.
@@theweaponstealr5917 considering ever since i got a new pc i have put hundreds of hours on scout, but then i got bored and fished everyone to death, then i decided to main demo currently. i will never leave tf2 grew up with it.

The whole 'pick up a new main after a break" was terrifyingly accurate. I took a 2 year break and mained demo, but always kept scout close to my heart
Holy crap, that's exactly what I did.
I used to main demo, took a one-month break and then thought it's time for a new class. I tried Scout and had so much fun, he's still my main today.
Right, but as with all of these for me I'm on some weird side path where I'm on a near end stage with average or below average aim and comparatively low hours yet the mechanical skill to sort of maybe make up for it
In this case somewhere around stage 9 with only like 120 hours on scout but also I'm still a casual scunt (not taunting after every kill or annoying my teammates as much, just taunting after especially infuriating kills even if it gets myself killed and always without fail using the sawmill scunt loadout)
Same. I spent a while playing demo, switched to soldier, spent a ton of hours on soldier, then considered scout. Then watched scout gameplay, then started messing around with scout. Now I’m going to buy an australium scattergun. Scout has no right to be this fun
For me I have to have immediate results so I was engineer for maybe 2 years got ok I was able to stop pushes kill everyone I put sentry’s in enemy bases and had a lot of fun but I kind of Began to hate feeling like I was ruining everyone else’s fun so I just stopped and swap between sniper scout and demo

State 8 is just my relationship with TF2 in a nutshell.

My stage was the scunt strange but, I was never cocky I just laughed at my mistakes.
Same with me last time I laughed at a innocent spy after killing him I felt terrible for most of the day and regretted that I did that

I guess Lv 1 would be: sticky spammer
Lv 2: cabbin flying demo
Lv 3: dude that use grenade launcher only and gets salty on crits and sticky spammers
Lv4: use both grenade and sticky bombs and gets into competition
Demo has the edgy emo jerk phase. They'll literally do nothing to help their teammates and instead try to kill f2p cause they're an easy kill. Also this is wrong. Demo has a lot of phase. People are too narcissistic to realize it.

Remember that every scout main starts to enjoy the class after around 200h in game of playing other classes
The character development at 5:40 i almost cried

I've been playing TF2 for 7 years and most of that time was playing Scout. All of your stages accurately depicted what I went through when I was playing Scout. My current stage is 10. Good video!

I really learned from this video for real (I used to be a scout main) and now I feel like playing scout again... thank you :)
As a Scout main, I can say you hit the nail. Just missed one thing, when trying other classes. They're too slow, naturally gearing the scout main back to the scout everytime they decide, let's try another class, this can last for stage one, or extend up to dtage 3, and until the end, even if the other classes being slower isn't frustrating anymore, the scout main may still catch himself thinking that they'd like to be running fast right now.
Yeah i definitely gravitate to classes with higher mobility if im not playing scout and I pretty much always run powerjack as pyro
The reason I chose scout as my main is because when I was learning to snipe I couldent get headshots so I went as scout as I was getting sick of dying and the way I was aiming as sniper worked really well with scout and I just stuck with it

Wanna know something same it’s also the reason why I mean scout is because I wasn’t connecting pills and I wasn’t really good at demo man so I saw the fast boy the shotgun and chose him

I love how at stage 9 you use older maps while on stage 10 you use a new map to show how the game has updated while the scout main was gone.

I started working on its script March 14th, so it did indeed take a few hours to make, but if you want it to get more views, pass it around, show it to other people, simple as that :)

This hits too close too home. I love tf2 I love scout, but I can't bring myself to play the game anymore. It was almost exactly 1k hours of tf2 where I just stopped playing the game I love it but I can't bring myself to play it anymore. Also thanks for the great video it was very enjoyable and reflected the evolution of a scout main well and I can recount my moments in this exact order.

i recently discovered a passion for playing scout because it reminded me of how it feels to play hotline miami, not only because of stats but also the sembalnce of the weapons' feels to those of HLM. They became apparent to me when i played scout listening to roller mobster.

Not realy for me, i don’t 1 class i play all of them ut more the damage. That mean than i have the 10 of 5 class at the same time, and some stage alternate other stage. So that acurate for me

Hey I’m so bad that I have to look up how to rocket jump and still fail sometimes and only know how to shoot right below me (the highest I jumped was when I accidentally tried to rocket jump on an enemy’s sticky Bombs that were airblasted together) I don’t know why I shared this but I did so yeh (I’m socially awkward so sorry)

I'm a scout main who has never gone through any of the stages, I was a spy/pyro main (also never going through the stages) that decided I was too slow..
As soon as I unlocked the fish I went from stage 2 to stage 7.5
My skill level fluctuates so much that I am all of the stages combined

bro this is so accurate, I have been stuck on stage 8 for the ever since the hackers came I decided to quit tf2. But sooner or later I began to hear out that the issue is finally resolved, right now I am currently rebuilding my scout performance to the scout main I was once before, but before you finish this comment , this is a good video, keep it up :D
I'm Scout main and I never went through a majority of these stages. Went from the obvious stage 1 straight to tryhard stage where I stayed for roughly 6 years. Got to stage 8 and quit TF2. Got back and reached stage 9 in 2017, got a lot better a few months in, reached stage 10 on summer 2018 and been there since.
Been occasionally dropping back to stage 8 because I get really fucking mad when I'm playing extremely inconsistently for a long time.
Every other day I'm a literal GOD, Premiership level DM but then, the next day I'm literally the worst player on casual for dozens of matches in a row. Then the next day I'm a bloody god again for no reason???
Gets really fucking tiring when your self-worth goes from 0 to 100 to back to 0 again on constant basis. Played Sniper a bit. Got kicked for hacking nearly every game :/
Back to Scout I guess idk how long it's gonna last. My mice keep breaking down faster than I can pour soda down my throat and it's pissing me off (no I'm not throwing them around, the cords keep snapping because of transportation issues and moving between places all the fucking time which sucks and makes me even more mad)

Well, I have to agree with you on some of your points. I went through the first 3 stages And then I just switched to Scattergun And never went through the memer, tryhard, salty, scunt And Lime And Pink cosmetics.....
But.... I did Pick another main, demo.
Now I main demo And scout both.
I DIDN'T buy any low tier unusuals...

tbh the fan was my favourite scout weapon now i miss it eversince i was stupid and crafted the shortstop which i didnt like hoped that steam support would give it to me but they didnt which i respect kinda now everytime i go to 2fort and to make some jumps i always remember that if i hadnt crafted the stupid shortstop i would have been able to do it aswell as i am a f2p so i cant just trade with bots in like backbpack . tf to get it again

Scout and spy are the hardest classes to play confirmed

Stage 11:
THE CHAD:
-Uses nothing but the baby face's blaster even though it's a 9/10 a straight downgrade to stock
-Doesn't care about sentries, deflects all of their bullets with their bulging muscles
-Instead of using the baby face to attack people, they only use their melee weapons since the speed boost comes from all weapons.
-Will successfully go on godlike killstreaks every game with only a Three Rune Blade, equipped only because it's a sword and it looks cool.
Skill level: 6. Amount of hours in scout: 50. Weapon: Scattergun. How do some people spend 300 hours to get that good?
I know this is a late comment, but I do have to mention this, since this has been asked often:
Tf2 was the first shooter I had ever put more than 5 minutes of time into, so my skill at shooters was basically that of a toddler. When making the video, I knew that I had gone through my own stage 8, but that had only happened after 1080 In-game hours, so I had to try to find a way to stretch that time across the rest of the stages.
That led to the stages hours being way out of proportion.

Seeing how much time he is saying is needed to get experienced i realize that i am learning fast even tho i am the first to die.
This gonna be a little cringy, but there are my scout stages:
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 5 (cuz i watched how funny it was to piss off people with Scunt)
Stage 6
Stage 7
Stage 7.5.5 ( I mean,i used a lot the fish and those memes things, also i used to spam the need a dispenser and spamming E also spamming that everyone was a fucking spy because im insecure about my team and they just spammed with me and i filled betrayed cuz they said me i was a enemy spy so i was depressed until i found out that was a meme too so i still spammed the enemy spy command )
Stage 8
Stage 8.5 ( I was trying to main Engineer, and i did it. But i remembered the old times when i used to make ragequit all medics and that, so i started playing Scout again but i play Engineer making a 50/50 for those characters )
Stage 9
And im still trying to mastery Scout ( and Engineer sure ).
I went a straight to the weeb stage OwO
