- The Wizarding World is home to some of the most evil villains in fiction.
While watching the series we’ve got to see two of the darkest wizards of all time, Lord Voldemort and Before his time, there was Gellert Grindelwald. Now there are debates all over the place about which one is considered more powerful than the other, analyzing each one’s magical abilities and so on, but in this video im going to show you that although these two wizards are sharing the same side of evilness, they are completely not alike.

Grindelwald was more human and could feel human emotions, like love, sympathy and guilt, which is why he never stepped foot in the UK after Ariana's death, afraid that he might have accidentally killed his lover's sister, and showed remorse later. Voldemort, on the other hand, was psychopathic and sociopathic.
Grindelwald dominated most of CONTINENTAL Europe (not in the UK for the reasons mentioned above), while Voldemort's actions were limited to Great Britain and Ireland.
Grindelwald could gather followers who were genuinely loyal to him. On the other hand, Voldemort only had two dedicated followers (Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr), and even some of his most loyal Death Eaters (ex) Snape, Lucius, Draco, Regulus) ended up betraying him (Regulus)/switching sides (Lucius and Snape)/redeeming (Draco).
Grindelwald wished to dominate over Muggles, like how the Europeans colonised the Americas/Africa/Asia; he was less interested in murdering them. On the other hand, Voldemort wanted to purge Muggles and Muggleborns, as in Adolf Hitler towards the Jews.
Grindelwald was a wizard supremacist (inclusive of Muggleborn and half-bloods, as they were, after all, witches and wizards). Voldemort was a pureblood supremacist and treated Muggleborns as if they weren't wizards.
Grindelwald was singlehandedly defeated by Albus Dumbledore. However, it took much more than just Dumbledore to defeat Voldemort, as it required the efforts of the Order of the Phoenix and their allies, including Harry Potter himself.
Harry did nothing he just watched the two duel
Voldemort wouldn't enter an election to gain power unlike Grindelwald. The cruelest thing Grindelwald did was cutting the poor Qilin's throat!
And randomly killing loads of aurors just coz they wouldn’t join him and tried to apparate away. Or maybe ordering for the murder of a muggle family so he can stay at their house in Paris.

What are you talking about? Grindelwald murdered many people personally and through his own orders. Granted, he probably claimed it was their fault for dying because they didn’t join him, but he was still responsible for their deaths

I was under the impression that Voldemort conquered most of the uk, not the majority of Europe.
The only two differences are:
Grindlewald isnt bald
and grindlewald had friends
And he also had a nose

The only thing Voldemort has upper hand over Grindelwald that Voldemort has more speed than Grindelwald, but i think Grindelwald is not faster because he doesn't need to be faster. And other every thing Grindelwald has the upper hand over Voldemort. Grindelwald is stronger than anyone in the wizarding world except Dumbledore.
Voldemort have the other hand that he is stronger and more advanced in magic. He killed hundreds of the greatest wizards during the first wizarding war and his powers made even Dumbledore himself doubt that he could take him down.

Grindelwald did not conquered Europe and he did not even dare to touch Great Britain because of Dumbledore. He was defeated by Dumbledore despite he had the elder wand and Dumbledore not duelling to kill.
Voldemort on the other hand was not defeated by Dumbledore despite Dumbledore had the elder wand and he killed hundreds of the greatest of wizards in the first wizarding war who tried to stop him that made even Dumbledore himself doubt that he could take him down. You guys making your own story. We are some here who knows the canon.
