Top 3 Musicians Who Hated Sting The Most.
Sting is a British singer and songwriter known both for being the front man of the band the Police and for his successful solo career that followed. Sting is also a distinguished songwriter and actor, as well as an active philanthropist. His musical style was distinguished by its intermingling of pop, jazz, world music, and other genres. For Sting, music served as a way to escape from the harsh realities of life, offering him a refuge in a world of beauty. Sting played with several groups before forming The Police with drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Henri Padovani in 1977. Padovani was later replaced by guitarist Andy Summers. The Police officially split in 1984 after releasing five hugely successful albums with hits like "Walking on the Moon," "Don't Stand So Close to Me," and "Every Breath You Take." They fell apart at the height of their fame. Following their 1983 album Synchronicity, they became one of the biggest bands globally, with "Every Breath You Take" pushing them to international superstardom. Years later, they reunited for a global tour in 2007-2008, which became the most profitable tour of the year. While Sting went on to have a successful solo career, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland explored other musical projects.
But while millions of fans adore him, not everyone in the music world has been so enamored. In fact, some musicians have expressed a deep dislike for Sting. Here are 3 musicians who expressed hated towards sting.
Hate the AI voice - it is total crap.
As is the script! And a lot more than these three names have a problem with Sting - though Stuart has reigned that in. But sure, Sting has an insufferable ego, and takes far too much credit for all the brilliant Police records which owe so much to the input of Stuart and Andy!
Well get used to it . Its here to replace you.
@@beatler11 Only replacing the replaceable . .. so speak for yourself

I have no admiration for the son of a CIA man, Stewart Copeland either.
me too
@ Me too
He comes across as arrogant to me and always has ,even 40 plus years ago !
He's a fukin bellboy!
Despite the fact, pygmies use to be very nice, no so the northern ones.
and here we go was the song written about Sting it sums him up well "King of Pain"
If John Lydon says it, it's probably true.
Back in the day my brother had a mate who worked at Heathrow. He said Sting was arrogant, always bitterly complained about everything, and he had the worst B.O known to man
That's not BO. A lot of people who are famous smell very bad. I won't bother naming them but their demeanor is the same, extremely arrogant, condescending and rude. The smell is demonic. People who have conducted exorcism report the same thing. It is apparently very foul.
You brother was in band called Heathrow
@@plejady XD did they do the song , come fly with me ? idk
Did your brother start humming "Don't Stand So Close to Me ?"

I worked with Sting during the Amnesty International World Tour (just a press secretary) with Peter Gabriel, Tracey Chapman Bruce Springsteen and others and unfortunately witnessed some very condescending and arrogant attitudes including toward fans which takes nothing away from his immense musical and compositional talent. All the others musicians were warm modest and very friendly.
@@stevemorse108 sure you did
Former schoolteacher, what can you expect. In interviews he seemed proud of the fact that he was good at letting the pupils mess around and not do much else. In other words, he got paid, and if the kids leave with no skills or qualifications and end up on skid row - he still got paid.

He can't be bad he is another geordie legend 🙌
"Witnessed some very condescending and arrogant..." WHAT? Finish your sentence.
There's so much about Sting to hate.
I never met anyone who liked the guy. The global philanthropies unfortunately are about western power and are imo dangerous. But as a human he is a walking characterture of arrogance.
He & his wife had a house in the Lake District that they had to leave eventually because no-one would work for them. Mrs Sting got taken to court a couple of times for mistreating the staff.
What did they do to be hated so much?
Mrs Sting.......?!?!
Are you meaning Trudy Styler??
Lake House, Wiltshire - a long way from the Lake District, what ever the domestic issues.
I can believe that
Give me Lydon & Weller, any day!
I always thought he was arrogant. He absolutely loves himself on the videos he did for his songs. That smug look is so annoying. 😡
@ The further away from him the better. 😂🤣
Sting's ego has never quite understood that Stewart Copeland's drumming made Sting worldwide famous.
Copeland is way overrated by people like you who just jump on that bandwagon.
@Soul_Flame I jumped on what bandwagon? 40 years ago in the early 80's? LOL. No other WHITE drummer had Stewart Copeland's pocket.
@@CribNotesanyone who knows about drumming will agree that copeland is up there with the best
If Copeland hated Sting so much, why did he reunite with him. Sting helped to line Copeland’s pockets with green. How many of those money making Police hits did Copeland write? No doubt, he’s a great drummer. Just Sayin’.
@@CribNotes That's absolute rubbish. Pocket means timekeeping. Great as Copeland was, he famously played ahead of the beat.
He has a reputation of being a horrible human being. So there’s a lot more that dislike him,but probably haven’t got the equipment to speak up. Unlike Weller and Lyndon.
John Lydon ne le supportait pas.
D'où se connaissaient t-il ?
They haven't got the equipment to speak up.
@Mod-rw9cw A composer/arranger friend of mine who has worked extensively with Sting would strongly disagree with those who say Sting is a horrible person.
You have a reputation of being a horrible human being as well
Is he dead or something?
Respect for Johnnie Rotten, Paul Weller and Stuart Copeland!!!
apparently the animosity between Copland and sting was exaggerated at the time and they are friends now even godparents. but i would go with Wella and Lydon, remember he tried to call out the grooming in the BBC
Never met Sting, but I did meet Andy Summers about a year after the Police broke up. I was working at a general store near a private beach. Andy walked in and bought some stuff. He was wearing a hat and sunglasses so I did not know that it was Andy. I had a short chat with him about the beach and the house where they were staying, and he was really nice and down-to-earth. The manager came up to me after Andy left and said "that was Andy Summers."
He uses much better musicians to record his albums and does not give them due credit.
The Dream of the Blue Turtles album started the trend.
How do you know this as fact ?
@@lewest7317 That's true. Those musicians made that album & tour. I saw him then which was incredible & a little while later with a 4 piece band that was almost the dullest gig I've ever seen.
I can't think of a better drummer than Stewart Copeland, whom Sting has ever played with.
Sting, where is thy death?
Haha! Not many people will appreciate what you did there! 😉 👍
good one
😁
Thus needs more appreciation

I don't suppose his first wife thinks much of him, either
Right. Because you would know.
Right. She financially helped him out and supported him in the early days of The Police. She didn't get much in return.
@@popvinnik Lynne's her sister... so...

There are millions of divorced couples who don't think much of their first husband/wife. You ?
Personally, I never cared for Sting, he was the optime of the elite, pompous, smug, and condescending.
I give JL Respect none to the Perv Sting
"Perv"?
@@rejectionisprotection4448yes. Perv. When you have seen him backstage you would know.
HOW PETTY CAN THESE FIRST TWO BE ? On the other hand - Copeland would have grounds to detest the guy. HE WAS AN EGO & TYRANT MINDSET ...... Sting is on the SURFACE a showy personalty and very much in need of control. Who has a name like STING ?? Needy.
They have their reasons, beyond what is described or explained in this video.
I wish somebody would remix "Every Breath You Take" without Andy Summer's guitar. Then we could all hear what a crap record it was before Andy added his magic riff.

I would suggest most of the so-called hatred is nothing more than professional envy. And not a single person here knows him privately. Most of us have faults, and most of us would share some sort of animosity towards others.
Funny how all your Ai garbage videos are about “HATE” because that’s exactly what I feel about your channel
So do I.

The best description of the lot
So go to the doctor and tell him that

Sure he was hateful to his 1st wife Francis. Used her to get his foot in the door!
I've always thought that Stuart had the most fair and balanced opinion of Sting-I started out as a great admirer of Sting but as his solo career developed I increasingly realised that he had become a bore. He's been lucky to have so many great collaborators around him.
John Lydon hates everything and anybody..but he made also some good records
No John doesn’t suffer fools .. he certainly doesn’t hate everyone and everything! He adored his wife Nora .. in fact a lot of people could learn a lot about integrity and honesty from him!
@@Monicablackbelt24- Yes, I totally agree. For me John Lydon is a model of integrity and his frank speaking is the pure manifestation of this. And luckily he hates the same people I do !

Not so, he chooses his victims with precision.
Him and his wife are meant to be notoriously mean. Avoiding paying taxes, and treating people working for him with disdain.
"Top 3 people who hated Sting. #3. Sting. Gordon Matthew Sumner has despised Sting for almost 60 years. The mutual hatred got to the point where Sumner refused to play him with during a planned set at Coachella, resulting in Sting being a no show."
I think most bands do fallout but if you want to work together just don't fight each other's just help each other
Johnny Rotten hates Sting? LOL. Pretty sure he hates everyone.
LOL. I think the same thing about Pete Townshend. I swear he's Mikey from those old Life cereal commercials: "Hey get Mikey to try it. He won't like it. He hates everything!!" Pete. Funny guy.
If Lyndon hates you your doing something right
So Jimmy Saville was doing something right?
Wow really? Talk about having nothing to say@@amandalorian105
i saw a recent interview with Stuart Copleland and he had had nothing but praise for Sting's brilliance and Stuart was grateful that he'd had the chance to be in a band with him.
STEWART Copeland never got on with Sting but eventually made his peace for the sake of world tour
@@hugo2216 In other words, money changes everything, lol. Plus the fact these guys are older now and old fights you had with each other in your twenties don't seem so important now, considering what you accomplished together.
Because it made him a multimillionaire. And, brilliant songwriters can be assholes.
Stewart has said that Sting isn't arrogant at all and is rather shy actually. He just knows what he wants and can be a bit rigid about it.
Stuart is a bit annoying
Um, hey AI voice. Stewart never hated Sting. They got into it, sure, but they never hated each other. Stewart is the one that asked him to join the Police and Stewart will be the first to tell you what a genius song writer he was. Same with Andy. I don't know the guy. Maybe he's a jerk, maybe he isn't. What do I care?
I saw them live on tv on a Rock Goes To College 1978? for a new band, they were fantastic they were super tight. I think the first three Police albums are fabulous but Sting got a bit full of himself after their initial success I remember seeing an interview with him around this period and the interviewer walked down a short lane and there was Sting sitting on a park bench with his legs crossed and a book open as if the interviewer just happened to come across him while out for a walk with a film crew. That was it for me. I think the other musicians deserved writing credits on some of those songs too but Sting wouldn't give it up!
Pretentious prat calling himself 'Sting', always been up himself; loathed him since he came onto the music scene
What's "pretentious" about using the nickname you were given, from folk you were in a band with?
He was given the nickname due to him wearing a yellow and black striped jumper, making him look like a wasp. Know what you're on about before talking shite.
I suspect there is a massive crowd of people who hate his opinion of himself as a great musician. His critics are spot on.His songs are just boring and so so repetitive.Stinks opinion of himself as an intellectual is without merit.
The AI voice made it unwatchable.... Do better
1:50 look how unshaved i can be 😂
Being in a band ultimately gives rise to conflict and power struggles.
It's inevitable, even with financial success.

Agreed ... Way over-rated. They had one or two good songs but that was it. Then they put out such rubbish as "A do, do, do ...." ... How did that even manage to get on an album?!
Jealousy is a very powerful emotion. Rise above it and give credit where credit is due. You'll feel so much better
Shoot,I'm not even a misician. I hate him. Great song writer anyways.
Met Sting at the Christian McBride gig at the Jazz Cafe. He's friendly and charming.
I saw firsthand how Sting treated Warwick in Life is Short.
Sting is a coconut headed git, and his real name is Gordon!
You coconut headed git. His real name's Gordon!!!😂😂😂😂
I can't speak about his personal behaviour but I'll defend him for being controlling in the Police . He was clearly the best songwriter in the band, by a large margin, he must have known the band was successful because of his songs and what do you do in that situation?
Stings a lovely bloke - when he was a teacher at St Pauls Catholic Infants school (my mam worked in the kitchens) and she thought he was a nice bloke - just a bit 'fuzzy' after doing his sessions at night after school.
Mams (especially Northern Mams) are a good judge of character.
Nice to know. Maybe he changed after he made it big though?
It's been my experience that people who do all the activist stuff, are usually some of the worst people... I think they know it and they're just trying to balance their karma. That said, it can't be denied he is extremely talented. I just wish they could have made it work longer.
Sting is probably ok and an individual but he and his music are very boring.
why doesn't Sting get jail for such monstruousness?!?
Sting horrible music. Can't sing, Can't play, another Bruce Springsteen way overrated.
@@trajan6927 You are not a musician, are you ?
Personally I've never thought much of Paul Weller as a singer. He sings like a football hooligan.

I can’t help but think his mother was friends with Sir Jimmy, when Paul wears those coloured glasses and the horrible long hair he’s a dead ringer.
Paul Weller is a legend brilliant singer songwriter you don't get called the MODFATHER for nothing
What a melt
So what? His music has always made me happy enough.
Lydon's criticism that Sting supports too many causes is a bit foolish. If you have the means, it seems natural and generous to support as many causes as possible. We can support the fight against AIDS and, say, help to improve the lot of farm animals.
Unless... Oh, I get it, I guess according to Lydon, an artist's support is only through their image or even their involvement in various events. It's a win-win situation, I suppose, with the artist improving his image and contributing to a good cause. Sorry, but there are many ways to give. Good for Sting.
Lydon supports Trump. You can't get any dumber.
@@ofdrumsandchords Lydon also publicly called out Jimmy Savile years before anyone else. Proper hero.
Lydon's criticism was spot on. Sting is a virtue signalling clown who lectures people about the environment right before boarding his private jet.
Does Paul Weller like anyone?
Steve Marriott, George Best...
Never seen him smile...horrible man!
I bet Weller hates him cos he was cast as ace face in quadrophenia. Thinking about it now, knowing that Lydon auditioned for the role of Jimmy it seems weird that Weller wasn’t asked for any of the roles especially as the The Jam were at the forefront of the mod revival. 🤔
I think I heard that Sting's solo album sales had surpassed those of the Police, proving that there is no accounting for taste.
Well, this is a lovely little place.. such lovely people
He was ridiculous in Dune.
God he's done well.. only 3 people hate him! Not everyone is going to like you no matter what you do in life... live with it. and if they want to use their time and energy on hate, let them..
This is the "Top 3"
This is total crap. For one thing, Stewart Copeland has done many interviews talking about how great Sting is, saying it was obvious to him from the beginning that Sting was a Lion King. Etc, etc. These bullshit posts just spread petty animosity. "He dissed me so i hate him." So what?

Yeah well having read Andy’s and Sting’s autobiographies; seen Stewart’s film; watched many interviews with the three of them; and recently seeing Andy’s solo show, it’d be a fair comment to say that each of them have had times where they haven’t been nice fellas. How about you? Are you a good fella all the time, or sometimes a bad fella? Surely sometimes Sting has been a nice fella?

It seems evident that the 3 musicians that you feature in this post, and the reasons they hate Sting, is driven by envy. ❤ me some Sting.
Sting and Stewart will always be friends. Johnny Rotten is always complaining about someone. Never heard of Paul having an issue with him. AI voice sucks badly
They wouldn't say this about him if his name was "Bee".
You never get in a fight with a guy that beats things for a living. 🥁
Where one enjoys speaking ill of others, spreading rumors out of a heart that lacks light. Lift yourselves into a higher frequency and in doing so help lift the world into a higher frequency as well. Love to Sting❤
Past tense as if he’s dead. WTF
To be fair, based on the comments and Stings fans/followers? I can understand why Sting would find them annoying though. They’re a bunch of ass kissing obsessed synchophants. Many or most of them are mentally ill middle age up to geriatrics still obsessed with Sting thinking they have a chance with him. I guess in the 80’s and 90’s even early 2000’s it was different because he was in his prime and at the peak of his career and fame. He’s still a big deal don’t get me wrong and I’m not saying he doesn’t have young fans now, but it’s not what it was. Can he still get the young girls? If he does, they most likely look at him as opportunity (they’re opportunists) what he can do for them and a way out. And they’re likely from places like Eastern Europe and granted Eastern European women are absolutely beautiful and are even very intelligent and still are traditional women which men can appreciate. So who knows? I think Sting is not inherently a bad man, but look who’s he’s been married to for the last 40 years? I honestly imagine Trudy is insufferable to be married to which makes him kind of fake happy or downright miserable! I have a feeling if Sting married someone else who was mentally stable and a kinder person, I really think he would be a different man.

@@ВладимирКруглов-к9о It's phrase describing artist types (mostly thespians, to be honest) who go around air-kissing each other on both cheeks when they greet one another, and call each other "darling" (regardless of anyone's gender) while talking to each other in a very 'precious', sensitive, and dramatic fashion.
LOL. Classic!
can't remember the specific concert footage, but watching and listening to the dynamics between Copeland and Sting was pure animosity/rage, bass players and drummers have to respect one another or shit is just bad...

Fields of Gold is a classic.
Sure is. Beautiful song.
it is but to me "Russians" is even more striking.
Great cover
It's awful. His whole solo career is hideous and only existed because of the excellent songs he wrote while in The Police. Seems like he benefitted from Summers and Copeland reigning in his ego in the early days - either that or Sting only had a handful of good songs in him in the first place.
It was a classic song long before Sting covered it and personally I think Eva Cassidy’s version was superior.
It’s amazing that people can have an opinion with someone they never met , never talk to.
Weller is full of shit, he hasn't made a good record since the 80s.Lydon has dined out on The Pistols for decades.
Stanley Road, Wildwood and his self titled solo debut - all of which were released during the 1990's are classics,
I haven't been impressed with much of his stuff after that!!
@NatashaSherringham Yeah true he did do some good stuff then, apparently Nick Drake was quite an influence on him I read.
Rubbish. Lydon's work with Public Image Limited was truly innovative and groundbreaking. That is more than can be said for anything boring egotist Sting has ever produced. Sting has never been groundbreaking or musically transformative. You are obviously not someone who knows anything about music.
It IS just a question of charm, i don t think WE must treat any man or star or woman like the most beautiful person in the world because ....🎉
let's face it, take away all the hatred of others, and there's not much left of John Lydon

@@ofdrumsandchords Sting literally wrote a song about stalking someone. And a song referencing a pedo teacher and underage girl. And a song about a prostitute.
Copeland is all about a difficult working relationship which is not exactly unusual; John Lydon has always been all over the place and a model of inconsistency with his opinions; and Paul Weller has always struck me as a man who never really grew up, the working class champion who never did a proper day's work in his life, and frankly a bit of a mardy prick all round.
