We (producers of video) are about six hours north of Chicago. The sole can be treacherous on ice, but I get great wear out of these boots. However, I much prefer the moc toe or the Oxblood ranger with Vibram traction sole. Enjoy! They get sooo beautiful with wear!
+Culture Currency thanks for the reply,I didn't see the oxblood color until you mentioned them.I ordered them today, can't wait for them to arrive.looking forward to more videos
Strongly recommend a pair with a Vibram/lug sole versus the Rangers. I love my pair of 8113's (hawthorne leather) but the tread less cork sole is awful on any snow or ice accumulation. The hawthorne leather is also not the best choice if they'll be worn in damp environments; the suede-like leather is difficult to clean. All that being said, the boot itself has held up great for me since purchasing 3 years ago and worked almost daily for the majority of that time. On my 2nd sole for the boots currently, but they're simply so dirty from years of abuse that I'm retiring them to dirty work only and getting a pair of moc-toes (Red Wing or Danner) for daily wear.
James Daniel yeah but on the Red Wing site they recommend to use mink oil and even on they're demonstration video on how to clean your Red Wing Iron Ranger 8113s or 8083s the apply mink oil but I guess it all depends on how you want your boot to look. I have the Red Wing Iron Ranger 8083s and I apply mink oil when cleaning. them.
No offense to the O.P., but I feel all these videos about how to care for iron rangers to keep them looking new are ridiculous. And everyone seems to have their own miracle treatment to accomplish this, while in many cases ultimately just doing more damage to their boots instead of leaving well enough alone. I guess if you want to always look pristine like you just walked out of the store wearing them, it's fine. You end up looking like a guy who's always trying too hard to be trendy, not a good look IMO. These boots look best the more they are worn, with nothing done to them, I repeat, 'nothing'. The leather is heavily oil tanned and treated from the factory to break in while withstanding scuffs and daily wear without a lot of extra care. This is what gives the boot character. Just wear them, enjoy them and forget all the B.S.
The tattoos and boot is fine ... but the music ... that boot need some southern blues feat justin johnson ... the beat got to go .. red wings was not built in that beat era ...
So never put water on your suede ….just the stick ???? They look great by the way 👍🏾
Beat soundin like the power puff girls theme song 😂
