Vaxee Outset AX Review - Supreme Comfort

- The Outset AX is a fantastic ergo mouse and one of the best options out there. Its button height prevents me from enjoying the shape to the fullest, but I still enjoy using such a comfortable mouse and the clicks are sublime. If you enjoy ergonomic mice, or just want try something different, the Outset AX should absolutely be on your radar.

I have np-01, np-01 and outset ax and i have to say that outset ax helps to perform well over longer gaming sessions. steady aim, nice precise flicks - not the fastest, no tiring grips.
Yeah its impressive how comfortable and reliable the outset is. I could use it all day with no strain whatsoever.
Great review. I find your videos very useful and helpful since I have the same hand size and grip. How would you compare the Vaxee matte coating to the Zowie C series coating?
The C series coating is more rubberized and feels like it sticks to your hand more. I have less issues with that coating than Vaxee's when I start to get very sweaty and I always feel that I have a solid grip. It will pick up more oils and finger prints because of the more rubbery feel, but I don't find that it affects my grip much. Vaxee's coating does feel more premium though, and I still like it a lot.
Great video mate - I switched from the EC2-C to the Outset AX because I found the EC2 just wasn’t wide enough or tall enough for my hands and grip style (19.5 x 10.5 cm / relaxed fingertip or palm grip).
The EC1-C I found was too big (mostly in terms of length - the EC2 length is perfect for me, yet the EC1 adds a lot of length not just widget and height. The dream for me would be an EC2-C that’s just wider and taller without being longer and the Outset is sort of an approximation of that in terms of shape seems to me.
What I’d give for an official Zowie EC1.5 - I know there are Zowie EC clones out there that are bigger but looking at the dimensions online for a lot of those they’re longer without being much wider or taller which is the main issue for me personally. I also can’t stand holes in my mice so that limits my options somewhat.
I do find the Outset clicks I don’t like as much as the EC2-C. I also prefer the feeling and larger size of the EC2-C side buttons and I prefer the EC2-C cable and scroll wheel to the Outset’s but purely in terms of shape I find the Outset a bit more comfortable I think since it’s wider and taller. If an EC1.5 existed though I would use that I expect.

I feel like we have a very similar grip and hand size, if I may ask: if you have experience with the normal size Deathadder, what are your thoughts on it?
I’ve used it forever but am always trying new mice, most I’m usually a bit better with, but keep coming back to the DA. My assumption is the amount of muscle memory I have with it.
I've never tried the death Deathadder myself because I don't think that I would be a fan of a mouse that large. I feel that the ec2 and outset ax are about the largest mice that I can control well. The new Deathadder hyperspeed looks pretty interesting for the price so I might give it a shot just to try out the classic shape.
What you said about always going to the deathadder makes sense but I don't really think it's about muscle memory with the mouse. It's likely that you are so comfortable and used to the shape that it is something you don't have to think about. In my experience, comfortability and placebo have a massive impact on performance and tend to supersede your level of mouse control with a specific shape. If a mouse is comfortable enough for you to effortlessly use it in-game and you have the confidence to believe you can perform well with it, you will get good results despite some shortcomings the shape may have.
If you haven't tried it I would recommend trying the skoll mini. It's my personal main with tilt pincer claw (18.5 x 11cm hands). I haven't personally tried the ec3 but looking at the dimensions it should just be a thinner ec3 with similar length and height. It's the most unrestricted I've felt with any mouse.
The skoll mini has been on my radar for a while. The only reason I haven't tried it yet is that I don't want to deal with gwolves qc roulette. They seem to be making improvements so I might pick one up when the refresh their lineup like they've been talking about.
@@KraftyCraftKraf I have two and my newer one has much better QC than the old one. Rumor has it the skoll mini is even going to be getting a wireless version soon. Nothing even remotely concrete on when but it's bound to happen sooner or later.
I saw that too. It's cool how gwolves is trying to push the envelope but they barely even make any mice. Maybe they'll get their production in order soon.

The prime mini wired doesn't look too bad. I'm not super interested so I'd wait for a good deal to come up, but it looks interesting enough to be worth a shot. Definitely not trying the wireless though. $130 seems insane for its specs.

Does the cable give you problem?
I do definitely notice it, but the cable holds its shape well enough that it feels pretty solid if you have good cable management and not a dealbreaker. It’s still certainly worse than better stock cables like zowie c series, Xm1r, etc.
I have a bungee so i think it will be minimal problem right?

EC3-C or Outset AX
I prefer the EC3-C personally. I like the lower button height and thinner grip width. I do think the outset is the better mouse, just not for everyone.
@@KraftyCraftKraf okay you make me think about buying the ec3 now. i already got 2 x np-01, 2 x np-01s and 1x outset (gf loves new toys as well) I also have ec1, 2x ec 2 divinas , fk2 and a xm1. do you think the ec3 is worth a try with all this collection? kinda a passion here... right now i went back using outset, just because it is more comfortable for longer sessions. the terms of clickfeel, nonvaxee like ec3... hm i guess everything should be the same like previous ec2? or does the lighter weights of ec3 make that much of a difference? design wise and click feel it should be like past ec2 right? thank you ahead for taking your time to respond.
btw. what do you score higher on aim maps with outset or ec3?
I think the ec3 is definitely worth a try. It'll feel pretty different than anything else you have, even an ec2, but it's still an ec shape and should feel right at home for you. The only issue is that it may be too small because I tend to grip it very aggressively because of how short it is, and while I do like this grip style, it's not going to be for everyone. You can get relaxed with it but you'll lose a lot of hand support compared to the outset or ec2.
The clicks should feel very similar to past zowies. Their designs and microswitches are exactly the same and the only difference is that they tuned the button tensioning a little bit. They'll be a little bit more satisfying but with a very similar feel.
I score higher with the ec3 on aim maps. My pure mouse control feels better because its a little thinner with lower buttons and has that same unrestricted feel and high range of motion as the outset. I preform well on the outset in game because of how relaxed am, but I usually do poorly on aim map type stuff compared to most other mice I enjoy using. It feels slightly too large for me to have the mouse control I need to get good scores.

Don't blame you. My camera does the pad no justice and it looks even better in person. It's so hot.
I have this Vaxee Outset Ax and the Zowie EC3-C and (NO DOUBT) the Zowie EC3-C beats the vaxee a thousand times, in ergonomics, with a very good paracord cable the Zowie (the vaxee cable is very bad, hard and not very flexible) and the Wireless emits too much electromagnetic radiation harmful to health. I definitely prefer the Zowie EC in any of its sizes, and in fact most (professional) players of FPS games like Counter Strike use the ZOWIE EC. Greetings to all.
