I echo your thoughts on the AX, the shape is stunning, and Vaxee imo have best in class design and engineering. I was an RJN acolyte, but it was listening to the Vaxee designers and then actually trying their products that elevated my understanding of mice and shape. I think they're totally right about pretty much everything. The subtle right side curve is essential to ideal control, there's no point in symmetrical curves at central waist of a mouse. And I do now think grooved triggers makes clicking inconsistent and is just worse; they're completely right that very defined steps in a scroll wheel improves it as an input for playing videogames. And I was fascinated to learn that the EC shape was not designed remotely as a palm grip mouse, and it's shape was actually intended to facilitate a tilted wrist angle to improve useable range of motion, wrist health, and comfort. This used to be mentioned on the Zowie EC product page until the community obsession with grip style took over and they removed it in favour of big icons saying suitable for claw and palm. For years I had wondered why moving to symmetrical mice made my aim feel restrictive even when precise, but I never held any EC derived mouse in a palm grip (also big hands makes this largely impractical anyway), always a relaxed claw, and that yielded the best results. The AX feels like the culmination in everything they've learned so far and is my favourite mouse. I'm currently trying the Lamzu Thorn for an extended period, but I suspect I'll be back to the AX after this is over.
Exactly, i noticed the same. When i tilt my grip thats when i get that range of motion and pocket in my hand. Everytime i would using a ambi mouse and go back to ergo, i would suck badly, because my hand needed to relearn how to tilt properly. The thing with ergos is how versatile they are, you can semi fingertip tilt grip them to get that range of motion while keeping the supreme consistently and stability ergos provide, you can push your hand more forward to get more stability, etc. Even though my model D was 128MM it still has MORE range of motion then nearly 50% of the ambis i tried. Small ambis too in the range of 116-120mm. Its crazy how advanced these shapes are. I’m planning on getting the vaxee soon. Hope its good
Agreed with you. Out of all the mice I've tried, I still kept my Outset AX wired handy when I wanted the best ergo mouse. There's just something about the shape that makes everything feel so easy, natural, and consistent. I'm very curious how well their 2k/4k implementation will be but knowing Vaxee it will be solid.
Vaxee makes fantastic mice. I've never had an issue with their hardware, and I really admire how they approach the engineering of their products. (See also: frimware upgrades for the XE Wireless and NP-01S.) Their commitment to quality for the price stands in such stark contrast to companies who seem to lack that level of focus and ethos. *cough Glorious cough* I recently picked up a Lamzu Thorn, but my Outset AX is one of the few wired mice I still own. It's also the only glossy mouse I own.
Great point about the weight! 🔥 I don’t mind heavier mice depending on the skates and pad combo I’m using. The only time I do mind is if I’m using a fingertip grip. Nice work 🫡
It seems to me that Vaxee wins the award for Mouse of the Year with their releases this year. I am excited to see what else they will release in the coming years.
I can't choose between the AX and the Thorn. I like both. I will get a AX once the 4K dongle is released though. Still have my glossy AX wired and I refuse to sell it. Vaxee make great stuff
Weight is a factor but I have said before once you get down to a reasonable weight and depending on YOUR size and natural size/strength - it will not hamper performance - for me, that's around 65 and under. For big lad like you probably
I have tried AX (wired) for the first time just last week and had exactly same feelings. I just took a mouse and it instantly fell into a right place. I have tested numerous ergo shapes and that has never happened to me - I have, almost exclusively, used ambi mice in the long run (Vaxee XE being my favorite for months btw). Shape is king
Realistically there is no actual difference besides it being wireless compared to the wired version yes? besides the lighter clicks, overall mouse still quite heavy and the only downside to it for me is the price, love the wired version and will probably keep mine as i do not mind the wire.
I thought the Lamzu Thorn was comfy , until I got the Vaxee Outset , I had the same experience , felt like it was made for me , although mine didn't have the M1 side travel. I have small hands, I think 116 mm.

I have a lamzu - thorn, i kind of like it but i kind of miss some support on the palm betwen my thumb and index finger and feel the need to tense my hand to get a good grip wich is causing pain in my wrist and arm after a short period of fps (cs2) gaming. I'm a guy who grew up with the mx518 and liked the grip of G703 and Steelseries 310 rival but i think those are too big for me now. How is this compared to the Lamzu - Thorn?
@@FreshReviewsYT thanks for response! i did try the dav3 but it was too bulky for me. I'm really finding it hard to find a mouse that is good fit for me :( I'm performing great with the lamzu thorn but fingers go numb because I press my hand into it to control it.
