According to Pablo Kuntz, apparently back in the late 90s when Capcom started adding voices to their games, they gave their poor actors no real direction and just recorded their lines as they were. That would account for a lot of the poor performances that sadly bogged X4 didn't. 8 was just doomed from the get-
