The wobble you have after installing the new bearing is usually the bushing that goes in between the bearing and shock rod. Sometimes flipping them takes away that wobble. If not get a new bushing.
I'm doing my struts again on my 85 Cabriolet and that spacer doesn't go on the top it goes underneath the top coil cap on top of the strut rod, and it should have a washer as well.

Maybe I'm wrong. I thought there was a special tool for removing the nut in the center of the shock mount.
Top tip, loosen the top nut BEFORE you take it off the car!
Yes!!! I learned that the hard way.
Doesn't matter if you loosen the top nut on the car or off the car, you need to use an allen wrench to keep the center from turning either way.
