All my bushings were shot so I did this. Great video and very cheap to DIY. Thank you very much and I’ll be watching the other vid!
Very clearly explained and documented! Thank you so much!
You are the poop,I knew the bushings needed replaced and bought the kit, looked pretty difficult until I watched your video, thankyou thankyou❤
Very well done video! Most informative and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the video! I havent bothered with my linkage yet, but the kit is here and all the bits had me scratching my head without taking it apart, till now!!
I found out besides gear shifting bushings being replaced. Make sure to check manual transmission fluid. Mine was low making shifting difficult. Adding proper oil and bushings, I’m shifting like butter. Oh, also cleanup that shifting ball and bracket and add new multipurpose grease, just slop allot in there. Don’t put that rubber ball back in the bracket dry like in the video. The ball will prematurely wear out and eventually you will just have a metal rod left with no rubber. This will really screw up your shifting.😢 If your ball is worn off, you can buy a replacement online.
I also re-greased the shifting area underneath the shifter, under the car in the rubber boot with the plastic cap. A Bentley manual has a diagram for shifter adjustment, if you need to do that. But don’t mess with adjusting the shift rod unless you really have too.
Thanks for all your input. And thanks for watching
@@ProblemSolverGarage thank you. I love all the work you are doing. I just solved a issue that has been driving me nuts on my 81 Mk1 Scirocco.
I finally found the air leak at the Air intake manifold gasket by spraying carburetor spray there while running. The engine would almost die. There was the air leak on a 42 year old gasket. Thin as paper, and just as brittle. I haven’t gotten the new gasket yet, but I bet the engine will purr like a kitten after I replace it. I’m doing all the injector rubber donuts at the same time. That air leak was throwing off my fuel mixture to run so rich, and run terrible under load. Oh, thank you so much for the video on the stud replacement. I had to replace a broken rear A-arm stud. Your method saved the day. 👍🏻👍🏻😁
Thank you so much. I managed to fix a loose gear shift issue on my golf mk3 with this video. Subbed

Good stuff, man. Thanks!
After I replaced my main bushing that you skipped over because yours was good mine won’t go into reverse now so I’m just confused by that

@@ProblemSolverGarage actually you’re right. You deserve it👍
The 2 black "extra" bushing are going between the shifter and the shift rod... i dont know about the white one tho
Awesome thanks
Very helpful
Do you have any wiring diagrams of the engine bay
Great video!
Great video

Nicely explained
Great video thanks
Thanks again
Top video tnx.
I could use some help man...by the lollipop I got play no 2gear jams and doesn't come out when I press the lever on gearbox it comes out but inside the car it gets stuck
you need to replace the lollipop when it isn't nice and round anymore. Remember that you have to set the distance under the gearknob (inside the rubber housing with the round lid) to 15mm (5speed) or 20mm(4speed). You best take a piece of wood of 15/20mm to keep this distance when you adjust it by turning the rod.
😉😉
So helpful
Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback
