When you walked into the gift shop and showed that picture of those old cars it brought back so many memories of days and trips their with my my grandparents. I bet you never thought taking that picture would make someone's day so much brighter..

@@pamelasharp4766 thx but i was a sugar mountain tubing section which my daughter says is lower then where you actually go skiing. Up to this height n road to here was good, a lil scared, heard someone said it’s was a steep road n narrow. Thanks for answering so quickly 👍

This video gave me happy tears! My grandparents loved Grandfather Mtn. Back many years ago there is a photo of them on the bridge and it swayed a lot back then! Grandpa made sure of it! He passed 13 yrs ago today.😍
One other place I think you would like is Mount Airy, NC. It is the town that Andy Griffith was born and raised in. It is what he based the Mayberry town on for the Andy Griffith show. It is like stepping back into the old tv show.

I remember going across that with my mom, and my grandma ,and my sister and my baby brother. I remember they were scared to death, I guess I was too dumb, or too young to be scared. My sister and I made it across ,my grandma my mom and brother did not. Good memories .my mother dreamed of that road going up that mountain, for years and years
I wish you would also go to Chimney Rock park not far from Asheville. It is a beautiful spot and Lake Lure, which is next to it is where they filmed Dirty Dancing. You can take a pontoon boat ride on the lake and it is fabulous.
I've never been to Grandfather Mountain so thanks for taking us there. I would only be able to walk across the bridge. As I have gotten older I no longer take scary risks such as climbing on the rocks with the scary drop offs. What a view that would be in the fall in peak color. The area is probably packed with people then. Good job getting up and down those cliffs!

I don't blame Dawn at all I spent 20 years climbing the old TV and Microwave towers you would see around big citys adjusting the antennas. And now I can't even get up on the roof of a 1 story rancher
I went there last year with my parents. I have a wonderful time. Went with a tour guide and she drove us up there. Love the swinging bridge and it was high. Love to go back there again soon.

I would like to have seen Grandfather Mountain when we drove on the Parkway. We drove the Parkway several times. I would have loved to have crossed the bridge. The views that you saw were gorgeous. The CD that you got gave great information on the route up to the top of the mountain. I can imagine the mountain is spectacular in the spring and summer when the flowers are in bloom. I kept thinking that you were going to fall off the mountain with all of the peaks that you walk on, LOL. Fantastic video, Will. Say HELLO for me to SMV. His videos are great, too. 🙂😉
We were there about 35 years ago and it was so beautiful !! I couldn’t go across the bridge because of my fear of heights, but the rest of my family did. It was so foggy you couldn’t see the end of the bridge. You can understand why they call those mountains the Blue Ridge Mountains ! They really look blue in the distance. Thank you for this video !
Great video. The wind is always crazy on that mountain. When we flew from Greenville, TN in a Cessna, I remember some type of advisory about the up drafts over those mountains. You were brave getting on those rocks but the view was fantastic. Thanks for another great time.

Absolutely stunning views, a friend of mine has talked about Grandfather Mountain several times, I will definitely send him a link to this video. Don't know if I could go to the cliff edge, I'm okay with heights as long as there is railing around the edge.

I loved Grandfather Mountain. They still have Mildred & cubs, the Eagle, the cougar. Neat! It was awesome coming up 421(?) in the fall seeing the blanket of gold. That whole mountainside was golden colored. Do they still have the bagpipers at the Scottish festivals? Do they still have the hang-gliders? Did they still have their theater inside? Then we ventured to Blowing Rock. Boone was really an exciting place to visit. We enjoyed several areas of the Parkway as well near here. Really beautiful scenery. Had no idea Forest Gump ran that curve.

Wow this bridge reminds me of what it’s like to trust Jesus, it’s scary, but worth it! Seems shaky and uncontrollable but He’s completely HARNESSED. And the walk with Him is risky but beautiful and breathtaking 😭👏 Dont get distracted by the winds, or look down... just focus on walking and making it across and you will be fine 😭👏 The reward at the end will be totally worth it. 😌😌😭❤️✨

@@xensan379 I believe Sugar Mountain is higher than Grandfather. I know the bridge at Grandfather is a mile high. Hope this helps🙂
